Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | June 2013 | Late Ports and Late Threads

Maybe if Shahid works super quickly we can get some 'logo support', lol.

Taken from Sony E3 conference thread.
They could stick my 2 second Paint job in a slide. Commission-free.

Shahid is asking what people think about Alundra now. So if anyone's interested in that, go tweet him with #jrpgvita. :)

If we can even just get a localisation of Type-0 (which he's said there's a lot of demand for), that'd sure be something.

what would alundra have to do with a jrpg being localized? isn't alundra a dead franchise and already available on vita?

I rather enjoyed Malicious Rebirth on PS3 (Technically one of the first games I purchased), and the extra bosses + Weapons on Vita just seem like great additions.

I'm glad it's FINALLY announced, not like it hasn't been out in Japan for ages...

I didn't realize God Eater Burst is free for PS+ surely this is to prepare us for God Eater 2 localization, right?

Really hoping for this. Would be even better if they bothered to bring the PSP and PSV versions both out, as well. GE2 could use all the players it could get.

Here's a trailer for that Deathmatch Village MOBA game, finally:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=csgaJpn2xyw

Looks kind of meh but... who knows. Could be fun. I've been wanting a MOBA on Vita.

Like Awesomenauts, but with way less interesting personalities and art, and much jankier "generic flash"-style skeletal animation.

That trailer was trying so hard, too; "The Deathmatch will Blow Your Mind"... pretty hard to do, when I'm not even mildly impressed yet...

"Free To Play" isn't enough to guarantee it a place, either. Just because it doesn't cost money up front, doesn't mean it doesn't cost memory space... PS+ hammers this home.

Glad to see someone trying out the 2D console MOBA idea at least. It's a great idea, and I'd like to see one for consoles that continues to be supported, and grows with them first in mind.

I'll be happy if a Naruto MOBA comes to the Vita lol.

if only Shahid could do something about near and make it more like Streetpass

Is it my new Vita freezing too much on the PSstore or is this a problem from the latest fw?

Might I ask for a quick summary of what I missed in May? GAF is blocked at work, so I haven't been browsing as much. :(

well in May we got
-inferior port of a mini game.(EU)
-non racing game from ex-PGR/Blur developer.
-Awful port of another horrible game from Insomniac.
-an iOS like game about pissing and pooping.
-a useless music app from SCEA.

that all.

Havent had that issue

Well, that is one way of looking at it, I will however share some cool stuff that happened on May:

*Jacob Jones was released, with a small price tag and interesting look and gameplay

*PSM had great releases with Rymdkapsel,Passing Time and Yu Nama: the puzzle being all fantastic games

*Blazblue on Playstation Plus

I would say it was a good month.

Er, that's about one hour's worth of App Store activity on iOS. Is this was sub-zero expectations looks like?

Still better than last May, though :-/

If this Destiny of Spirits game is what I think it is, and isn't for Vita, I'm going to be very sad.

Show me an example of that IOS hourly releases that beats my post.

It's kind of funny looking at the top sellers on the Vita in May vs the top sellers on the PSP

Vita
# Soul Sacrifice
# Men’s Room Mayhem
# Guacamelee! PS Vita
# Jacob Jones and the Bigfoot Mystery
# Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault PS Vita

PSP

1. God of War: Ghost of Sparta
2. Star Wars: Battlefront II
3. METAL GEAR SOLID: PEACE WALKER
4. Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories
5. Black Rock Shooter The Game

What's really amazing is that Battlefront II came out in November 2005. It's almost 8 years old and still selling.

Granted, since they don't put numbers, who knows how much it's actually selling. Probably less than any of the Vita top 10. But still

as in Demon's Souls sequel?

Dark 2 is on PS3 and From most likely will put Dark 3 on PS4, so having Demon's Souls sequel on Vita should be the logical hing to do.. but this is Sony so yeah..prepare for sadness :(

Awesome. 100% Mutant Blobs just now. Already beat it on pc but it is still a good thing to play for spurts and the trophies are pretty easy. The best part of 100% is a game is being able to delete it to make more space. Although that's more for the 4gb peasants here. ;-;

Lower the damn mem prices. Sony pls

If only SCEA were as stringent with their own games.

*cough* R&C *wheeze*
Certification isn't focused all that much on graphics or gameplay though. My impression is that it's a lot of stuff that makes the lawyers happy (logos are in the right places, have the right copyright attributions, etc.), and making sure it doesn't have security holes or freak out and damage the system if weird things happen.

Been playing Golden Abyss.
Really really enjoying the game. The whole rubbing the screen sort of stuff irritates me a bit, but the "light the back of the parchment" bit was quite clever I have to say, although I hope they don't repeat it again :p
I think the characters in this game ( Dante / Chase ) are my favorite so far in any Uncharted game.

I just really find myself wishing the game would run at a better resolution. The image quality is really, really, really bad. I would prefer if they lowered the graphics themselves a bit ( stuff like SSAO and such) in trade of a better resolution.
Hopefully it will be better in Bend's next title.

Sooo, I downloaded Rayman Origins (EU PS+ freebie), and I have no idea what's going on.

Is there a plot or objective to this game? I know I have to rescue those pink things - but is that it? Why are they locked up anyway? Do I have infinite lives?
I'm having fun (I've just finished riding a mosquito), but I'm really confused about the story(if any) and the main objective. Am I just supposed to go with the flow? I need some closure.

A story? On a platformer? Mario since the beginning continues saving the princess, and it's the most successful platformer :\
You have to save some 5 or 6 fairies but i don't remember why, that's all.

It's a 2D platformer. Just keep running and jumping and don't worry about any plot. :P

I'm currently knee deep in Persona 4,
in the second dungeon
and man, I really love this game. My only gripe, though it's a silly one, is that there's sooooooooooooo many freaking meta-games within it. I keep getting paranoid of missing something or messing something up.

A friend of mine told me last night that you get like a month to finish dungeons and I was like whaaaaaaaaaaaa?! I've been rushing/grinding as much as I can before then. I also still don't understand lots of stuff like how to enervate and what personas to go after with fusions. I really want to beat it and move onto other stuff in my backlog but I'm loving it so much...

Absolutely not true, i made most of them on the same day i entered in them.

You need to finish the dungeons before the fog returns, else it's game over. The game should give you ample warning when that happens though. EDIT: And if you get game over, you should get an option to redo the last week or so.

Yes.

Thats it.

^I see. I think I'm just not used to playing a game without a clear goal, or a "big bad guy" that we're trying to reach and defeat (as yet?). It's quite... different :)

Low. Hype only leads to disappointment.

VitaGaf was severely punished last year for showing any optimism pre-E3... and then Sony shat on everyone's face.

I like how things have been reined in considerably this time around even though we've heard all sorts of small rumors about a strong Vita showing.

My prediction? Nothing special coming up and Shahid's ramblings about shock inducing announcements will prove to be nothing but enthusiastic hyperbole.

Prove me wrong, Sony. Prove me wrong.

You'll get closure when you beat the game. Just play, soak in the beauty, and progress. You'll need to complete levels, find hidden cages, beat time trials & collect X lums per level. You'll get the hang of it.

It's one of the best platformers of all time.

Apparently Destiny of Spirits 'isn't a PS4 title'...

please don't be PS3

Really? I have no issues grinding away but I keep running out of sp and items. I keep hearing about enervate but I have no idea how to do it lol.

You obviously need to buy what you need before entering the dungeon, later in the game one character will gain the ability to slowly replenish your sp.

The Vita version of PlayStation All Stars got revealed, and they were showing a number of Vita games on the floor and on the post conference live streams. May not be what everyone wanted, but saying "Sony shat on everyone's face" is just dumb internet histrionics.

Personally, I think last years E3 wasn't that great Vita wise because they pretty much focused everything on the launch just months earlier. This time it's been a while since the last major event, so there's reason to believe we'll, say, find out what Bend or Project Siren are doing, and probably get reveals on some third party stuff as well.

My prediction? Nothing special coming up and Shahid's ramblings about shock inducing announcements will prove to be nothing but enthusiastic hyperbole.
Guess I have to point this out again, but Shahid never gave a time frame for his "ramblings". Maybe it will be announced at E3, maybe it's ways off yet. At this time there's little point in obsessing over it.

My prediction for E3, is that we'll get 5-6 bigger games announced, some more Indie stuff and some Vita only bonus content for upcoming PS4 games like Knack.

It took you over 3 months? Ouch, that's much longer than it takes most people these days. I like your taste in games (or specifically, Hatsune Miku Project Diva f).

Welcome to VitaGAF!
