So if DRM is Microsoft's idea, theoretically, that means it's less likely for Sony to follow suit? Similar to the Xbox Live subscription fee, only this time with publishers possibly rocking the boat.

Maybe Sony had a weaker DRM in place but due to MS more restricting use being more favorable to pubs. Sony was forced to take a similar approach.
All is speculation. Let's hope that Sony does the smart thing: No DRM or very weak DRM. Not because they're white knights because is a good strategy by itself.
