Love it. Love everything about it.

It's consuming me. I look at games like Driveclub and start to feel a tinge of hype but then a voice in the back of my head goes "But they're going to fuck you on DRM!" I want Sony to do the right thing just so I can relax for a minute and think about actual games again.
This describes how I'm feeling atm.

Would anyone else be able to enjoy the Sony conference a lot more if they addressed the DRM situation either before the conference or right at the start?

They need to address it for me to get excited about anything they show. Otherwise Ill still just be thinking about if they want to shit on me like MS does.

Of course! If the news is good, it would be a smart move by sony to get it out of the way so we can just enjoy the conference. It's going to make me even more anxious if they don't say anything. :-

See, that's what bothered me about the cloud. "Look guys, it's not always online. Hey check out this awesome online feature games will utilize, more power!!!!!"
How does the DRM even get worse?

Hahaha great picture.

As for how DRM can get worse? Microsoft lies about the "privacy" of Kinect and turns it on to spy mode. Man, that's going to cause so many lawsuits.

First, it's not happening in a vacuum. Piled on top of everything else MS is doing, it's certainly doesn't help their overall perception right now.

Second what seems unprecedented here is the amount of payola for a single conference. It sounds like there's at least 3-4 titles that MS will be getting exclusive announcements for, just for the sake of something that will be confirmed to the contrary before either of these consoles launch anyway.
Eh, still doesn't top Sony paying Rockstar to come out on stage and announcing a logo to a game that never existed.

This isn't even my final form!

Holy smokes... After putting things in perspective, I tend to be intimidated, like Vegeta.

given how self-aware sony has become i really don't think there's anyway they adopt drm, it would be really fucking sleazy especially with yoshida making troll tweets about it.

the backlash they'd get would be even greater than what microsoft received

If I was in charge of Sony's conference I would lead with showing the box, flashing $399 on the screen and discussing the DRM. And then I would wizardjizz games all over the crowd for the next 1:55.

I would also show vita stuff, to make famousmortimer happy.

Cboat delivers again.

lol

Oh man, it just keeps getting better. I wonder if the decision makers at Xbox seriously thought that there would be any other reaction from the public at large.

I like the part where he says some employees are fearing for their jobs because of DRM. I wonder if the number of leaks coming from Microsoft relative to Sony are due to employees being dissatisfied with the direction the Xbox is heading.

Yeah. I know they have made statements, I just want a definitive detailed statement.

Well Sony did get the elephant out of the room at the start of a conference with the outage.

DRM plans would be a much smaller elephant though.

Yeap, my sentiments exactly. First E3 or generation ever where I've been as apprehensive and nervous as I have been excited.

Exactly the same for me.

I'm not even excited for E3 at all. And I was always at least a little hyped :(

I wish we could've got Microsoft to change their minds, but that obviously didn't work.

Right now my pre E3 hype is really just worry about Sony's DRM now. This really sucks.

Am I crazy or did cboat's post count just lower by 26 or so posts? Could have sworn it said 107 or 108 when he made this thread and now he's at 82. Weird.

Still, thanks for the info, buttocks.

CBOAT: You thought I'd help out on specifics? I'll confirm what you get, try to keep you on the right track, but that's all. Are you guys really working? [GAF nods] How much?
GAF: I don't know maybe sixteen, eighteen hours a day--we've got sources at GiantBomb, Adam Sessler, Weekend Confirmed, Game Trailers, but it's still drying up.
CBOAT: Then there must be something, mustn't there. Look, forget the myths the media's created about Microsoft--the truth is, these are not very bright guys, and things got out of hand.
GAF: If you don't like them, why won't you be more concrete with me?
CBOAT: Because the press stinks --history on the run, that's all they're interested in. You come up with anything?
GAF: On April 19, 2010, Phil Harrison resigned from Atari's board of directors. On March 13, 2012, Harrison joined the intercative team at Microsoft. Yesterday, Geoff Keighley tweeted that Spike would have a giraffe at E3. That doesn't exactly have the ring of truth, since the animal was at Spike's Guys Choice Awards. Don Mattrick's been found--there was talk 3rd parties had 25 million in cash in a paper bag not show multiplatform games on PS4.
CBOAT: Follow the money. Always follow the money.
GAF: What do you mean? Where?
CBOAT: Oh, I can't tell you that.
GAF: But you could tell me that.
CBOAT: No, I have to do this my way. You tell me what you know, and I'll confirm. I'll keep you in the right direction if I can, but that's all. Just... follow the money.

Yep, it was at 105. They are deleting old info, so as to not trace it back to him.

I'm pretty sure he's a one eman fissure in time and space. Like Doctor Who but, different...and buttock'ier.

They need to do it at the conference for that absolute official confirmation feel but before hand is good too if they can make it sound official.
