Sony not saying anything about DRM stuff makes me think they have something in the works as well.

MS: 'can we have your game as a 3rd party exclusive on XBone?'
Pub: 'no'
MS: 'ok...can we get a six month exclusivity window?'
Pub: 'no'
MS: '3 months? 30 days? 7 days? 24 hours?'
Pub: 'no'
MS: 'exclusive DLC'
Pub: 'nah'
MS: 'fuck. Can we pay you money to just not mention that you have a PS4 version coming'
Pub: 'wtf? Ok sure. But if a journalist asks directly we'll have to answer'
MS: 'ok, whatever, just take this pile of cash'

I've seen it work even here on GAF though where people get the idea games are exclusives because they were shown at one of the conferences.

What to add?
The whole MS policy and attitude towards videogamers is as awful as one can figure.
They are trashing us and the industry, trying squeeze as much money as they can from them in a deadly grip.

Sorry, but to me, whoever will support this abomination called xbone, customers, devs, pubs, is against what they love, live on, work on.

I'm really sad right now.

Your bitter tears are my bidet...LMAO

I'm actually not surprised by the general Microsoft villainy. Ever since the XBox not-one was announced years ago I knew the day of bitter tears was coming. But even I am having a hard time imagining how the DRM could possibly be worse.

I already own a Wii U and I'm happy that Sony is still around despite the early misteps with PS3. One console future my crazy buttocks! C'mon Sony, make me vote for PS4 with my wallet!

Shocking revelation. Like every E3 PC ever before.

There is a rental strategy but it involves mandatory demos. No game renting as we know it now but that shouldn't be surprising either.

#nonfact Can't be proven, can't be disproven. Wow.

#nonfact2 So you know they are worse? But after telling everything else you cannot tell this one? LOL!!! Spill the beans or don't. Mysterious stuff like this just shows that you really might just have an agenda against Microsoft.

As if we didn't know already.

Wasn't it cancelled a couple of months ago? I think you lurk on Youtube and fell for a fake from two days ago (Prince of Persia E3 leak).

And if they don't show it it's gonna be at Gamescom, right?

What a surprise. As if anybody expected Microsoft to give up 1 billion a year in revenue.

Known for quite some time as well. A rumour on top of a rumour is ridiculous.

Again, how convenient.

So let me get this straight: You seem to imply you know about Microsofts PC, yet you have no clue about all those new IPs that they're gonna present? It just doesn't add up. I think you'll need a new account in a couple of hours but let's see. If you turn out legit I'm gonna eat some crow but so far it seems like you're just an annoying troll.

lol wow, dude...

So lemme get this straight:

-Microsoft proposed publishers the DRM plan, not the other way around. EA & Ubisoft support it, while Activision is sceptical about it?

I'm not really surprised that Activision is against a new DRM scheme. The Blizzard games already have DRM/online built-in, and CoD is doing well enough, even without an online pass. So they're doing pretty well in the current model, and have no reason to change this and upset their customers.

Sony not saying anything about DRM stuff makes me think they have something in the works as well.

Alternatively, Sony not saying anything might mean they're going to drop a no-DRM megaton on E3 tomorrow.

The reality is that Sony's silence is purely tactical in nature. It cannot imply anything about what Sony has planned, one way or the other. It can, however, imply that they are content to let MS stew in the shitstorm they've unleashed, which they undoubtedly are.

Yeah. Say what you want about Activision but they didnt include an online pass for a multi-selling franchise which would've garnered a lot of cash. I can see them not wanting to be completely anti consumer

Man, this new generation might be the last. These fucking companies and their greed will be their demise, I promise you this.

The only thing that makes me believe that Sony won't have DRM is the fact that MS went to the publishers instead of it being the other way around. Although, I don't really believe this one from CBOAT.

The differeing stances on DRM between EA and Acti/Blizzard is like one company is making loads of money the way industry is now so doesn't think its necessary while the other has had to make staff redundant worlwide so does.

As far as conferences go, 'non-mentions' is the norm. No third party gets up on a platform holder's stage and mentions a competing platform.

It's a little less usual if we're talking about more general non-mentions - in press releases, interviews etc - but still not totally unprecedented.

As for 'more to come' on Xbox One DRM - at this point things are bad enough that anything extra would just be sealing the deal.

I expect lots of TV ads like the CoD ghosts one where you see the game, then just an XBox ONE splash at the end.

It shows how bad MS' current DRM plans are, that we are having difficulty thinking what 'phase 2' might be.

This thread. I love the truth bombs.

Will be very interesting to see which publishers will announce games only for Xbox but is still coming to PS consoles. Can't wait

So I'm hoping ME2, PoP and DR aren't exclusive. Just announced exclusively at MS's stage.

:P

This is craziness if true. I trust buttocks, only because this is an insane thread to open if you aren't genuine.

Cboat, that's the funny guy right? I couldn't tell.

But don't be that guy.

I think that if Sony doesn't full clarify the lack of/DRM by the end of E3, then it's almost certain they have their own form of it.

I'm just in awe that ActiVision didn't necessarily jump the shark on this one...

why? Activision never even did online passes when they could, I think they see pre owned sales as a good thing for CoD, that means more people to sell map packs to and having a better larger online community can only help that cause. I imagine they probably have similar strategy for Destiny, it's a new brand and can only benefit from larger community and more people to sell content to.

of course Blizzard PC games are a different story.

Just had to quote this to add my mockery.

My god that was my favourite post to read for like ever. And I've been lurking for 3 years.

First: I find putting F2P games behind a paywall HILARIOUS.

Second: Anyone thinking Sony isn't gonna have some similar scheme ready must be nuts. Maybe it will be a bit more lenient but it's gonna be there. Even if MS initiated this and not the publishers, their appetites are now whetted. Is Sony gonna tell EA, Ubi and Activision to fuck off? They won't. "But they are going to put their stuff out on PS4 anyway!" Yes, but it's very easy to "hint" at their platform of choice if they feel like it. After losing so much ground with the PS3, white-knighting is gonna be the last thing on Sony's mind.

It's very fair to call out leakers on what could be unverifiable claims. That said, you're quoting someone with an impeccable record of leaks.

Sure, claims like "MS's DRM is worse than claimed." or "DRM was MS's idea first." are not able to be proven. But if a poster is willing to put his name (read: balls) on the line, that counts for something when the poster in question has CBOAT's record.

Indeed. Someone please translate that into english. The content may be very interesting but if you can't be arsed to post in proper english. Don't bother.

Several translations have been posted.
