Digital patched. got the glitch at the exact same spot twice. Disabling internet worked for me.

Conflicting reports. Someone just told me they play signed out of PSN and have no problems. Don't think they had to turn off Internet.

Try manual saving after the game has just loaded. Worked for me so far. Had the save bug two times in a row before, but not now. Can anyone else try this?

My boyfriend is playing this and I noticed that when he goes to the start menu it always says "Autosaving... Please wait" so I'm guessing he has the bug. I told him about it but he says that he does manual saves too. Is his save going to be alright?
I ask this because he's playing for over 5 hours now without quitting and I don't think I want to be in the same room if he would lose all that progress, ahahah..

Ask him when the last time was he manually saved. If it was bugging, it wouldn't allow him to manually save either.

Yeah I just went for like 3 hours as well and decided to stop and find a fix for the problem before playing any more. Pretty lame that I now have to replay it all. But disconnecting from the Internet certainly seems to fix the problem. It's a good thing this game is so good and that I'm willing to replay a couple hours worth of stuff, otherwise I'd be really pissed.
Pause it, if it says "Autosaving please wait" for longer than you'd expect then yes i'm afraid he has the bug.

I'm about 3 hours in and I've just noticed the 'autosving. Please wait' and it won't stop. Should I cut my losses and turn the game off now before getting any further, or is there anyone to save my progress?
I already had started yesterday fellow GAFfer. Played the intro a bit more. Today I started again from the last Checkpoint. Saved 1-2 times and it worked. I went a bit more far and when I clicked "Start" I had the Auto Save "hanging".
I've Online all these times. Signed out one time. Did not solve the problem. Will try to Sign In and Out again and after my Download reaches 100% I will Unplug the Internet instead of just signing Off.

I don't want to deviate from the topic, but this brings up an interesting point. The Xbone is an always online console. So say if this happened to an Xbone game but the devs weren't able to get a patch out by the weekend and everyone would have to wait until Monday. Wouldn't that mean essentially everyone who bought said game would be SOL until they could go back online and authenticate?

I just got this glitch fairly early on, at The Cargo section to be precise. Must have lost about half an hour or so of progress, so it's nothing too gruelling, but damn Naughty Dog - this is a right royal screw-up. It's a pretty widespread glitch as far as I can tell and it's going to sour so many experiences of day one players.

It's not going to fix it if you sign out when you are already hit with the bug. You need to sign out before you launch the game and then it seems t0 work by all the reports in here.

Map voting started and suddenly I couldn't boot away from anything after upgrading my custom set/
