It's gotta be tough for her because, despite not being the writer/director responsible for all the things people dislike, she's received a lot of the ire simply due to being the 'face' of the show. That said, advice like 'if you don't like, don't watch it- play the game' isn't going to do much to deter the criticism. People are well aware that the game exists and being dismissive of negative feedback isn't helpful as a solution.

TLOU video games are among my absolute favorites.

I couldn't give less of a shit about the TV show even if I was dead.

By that token, I also can't fathom how anybody could get so upset by the show.

I would have been much more hype for the show if they casted it better. Don't get me wrong, she is a very talented actress and has done some great work. That said, she just doesn't look like Ellie at all. And Pedro doesn't really fit Joel as well as some other actors would have. Any time you make a movie or show based around a game, people will always have a certain "vision" of what the character should look like. Neither character fits the mold, hence why I've been lukewarm on the show.
