I love the way this game looks.

Never played an MMO and most of the F2P ones don't catch my attention...but paying a sub for a game I am not even sure I will like is....risky.

Maybe when the ps4 version drops..I'll give it a shot.
 
So I just tried to log onto the FFXIV Beta Forums as I remember registering for the PS3 Beta way back in September 2010. This is the message I got:

"You could not log in because that service account has been cancelled."

Uhh, what does that mean?
 
Bah, made a character but it can't find any worlds to connect to. I wonder when the servers will be back up?

Edit: Restarting the client worked.

Also, I thought there was a pretty harsh user agreement during the first phases that said people were prohibited from sharing screenshots etc from the beta. Has that been lifted?
 
Finally got into the beta. Started the download but had to come to work. Very much looking forward to trying this tonight.

And the ambient sounds are PERFECT. Exploring in this new world is such sweet.

Nope. When you get into the PS3 beta, you get two codes: one to apply to your SE account, and one to download the PS3 client from PSN. Once the former code is applied to your SE account, you can log into the game on PC or PS3.
The same is true for the PS3 client for people who are only in on PC. If you manage to get a download of the PS3 client, through game sharing or something, you can use it to play the game.

Thanks, says Code registration is currently unavailable under the services and options heading of my account page, but hopefully that's gone by the time I get off work in four hours.

4841.94 mb just shy of 5 gigs. I probably won't be able to play before work. THis another reason why I can't wait for the ps4 5.0 ghz and wireless n
 
Damn SE. Disappointment after disappointment. Where's my damn key?

If anyone is in the PS3 beta, how are the graphics and performance? Do you think future console MMO's might adopt this control scheme?
 
Our stats and character don't carry over to the final right now right?

There will be a final phase for that in end of July right?
 
Can someone answer this for me?

So I have a Square-Enix members account of course, but then when I go to register the beta code, it seems to take me to a completely different form of registration or some kind of new account? Are these accounts independent of one another?
 
Am willing to buy someone a steam game or something for a PS3 code. Please inbox me if you have one. I was in all PC betas but apparently I didn't get a PS3 code and now that I'm working remotely I don't have a pc that can handle the game.
 
Looks like I somehow got a EU beta registration code...? I tried to register it and it says "The code's region is inapplicable. You can only enter codes from the same region as your Square Enix account."

Not sure what is going on.
 
On Ultros now. Can LS invites be done remotely, or do you still have to go trade a pearl to someone like in FF11?

Looks nice, obviously some textures are going to be lower few but draw distance is impressive. It seems to be ~30fps, dipping when a lot is going on but not enough to make it unplayable.
 
Running into an issue. I've created a square account registered the beta keys and registered at the forums. but when I try to redeem the codes on my ps3 , it says its invalid.
 
I keep getting Server Not Responding =/

The download is going fast for me. Almost finished! Woot! I am excited. The servers are the same for PC and PS3? If so where are gaffers playing?
 
Finished crafting my gorgeous Duskwight Elezen. I decided to go as a mage class. Been a priest in WoW, so this shouldn't be too different. Are guilds officially up yet? I want to join the Gaf guild! Name is Necro Vex.

Though that will have to wait, since The Last of Us just arrived in the mail.
 
Do you register the code under Services and Options on your square-enix account page? I'm wondering how you guys are downloading the client when it says the Code registration is currently unavailable for me?
 
If anyone has an EU beta code for PS3 that they don't want, I'd gladly take it off your hands.

I entered my code from FF13 and was convinced that I would get in. I'm really disappointed.
