Super Smash Bros Wii U and 3DS: Info Collection - Dojo, Mega Man and Trailer! 2014!

Ooo, I like the idea that each character will have their own special CGI movie skit you can watch as soon as you boot up the game. Nice. :)

Yeah that is really awesome.

Despite how poorly Subspace was done, the cutscenes with all the character interacting together was well worth it.

Would really like to see something among the Snake codec calls return. Maybe Pit on his stage can talk to Palutena, Viridi, and/or Hades about the opponent.

& then they each do their own Falcon Punch impersonation like Snake & Otacon did in Brawl when they talk about Captain Falcon.

Brawl's airdodge is fine. It's very easy to bait and punish, and it made you very vulnerable upon landing (you have twice as many recovery frames if you land while air-dodging).

Sorry but utterly destroying combo potential with one move is not fine.

But his profile stated he worked at Nintendo right?

Chicago-Based Actor/Singer/Voice Actor/Writer, Senior Editor at @VGTribune, 2012 APD for @NintendoAmerica, Behind @TopHatProfessor. Thoughts are mine alone.

What does APD stand for?

Whatever, I'm guessing this is just a project of his, probably some further viral marketing for Smash Bros. or something. Hype deflated.

That was due to the lack of hitstun, not airdodging. If Brawl had Melee's airdodge, people would fall out of combos at the exact same rate.

In case people didn't know, the same frame you can perform an airdodge after getting out of hitstun is the same frame you can perform an aerial. Airdodging is irrelevant to combos.

That's exactly Ridley's appeal. He's supposed to look beastly and witless, when he's in fact one of the most intelligent creatures in the known universe and leader of the Space Pirates.

That would be cool if he showed that in the games. I know the whole Metroid backstory and read the manga, but he just seems like a stupid beast in the games, at least he should've talked in Other M, threatening Samus or something.

Yup. I'm fine with Brawl's airdodge design as long as we get Melee's hitstun back.

Slight issue. Characters have different air dodge durations instead of being the same in brawl. Metaknight is the best lol. Peach is the worse...having like half the duration of everyone else...

Oh well hopefully things are better.

I'd don't think I'm ready for hearing ridley talk in a way that doesn't sound like slowbeef or diabetus.

Melee's airdodge is this only improved in both aspects. Being able to direct it makes it so you can very easily fake people out by jumping one way and dodging the other (then landing on the ground to recover quicker) and you're vulnerable until you hit the ground so you best use it at the best moment possible.

Screw that.

I like being able to dodge in midair and then attack.

I also like not having my momentum murdered when I air dodge.

That was more of a balance issue or oversight than anything. I do agree that everyone should have the same airdodge. The better airdodge was used pretty much exclusively to newcomers, while the veterans got stuck with a worse one, probably due to being copied over from Melee.

Poor Peach, though. I think someone accidentally placed a "10" where there should have been a "20" lol.

I actually dislike Melee's airdodge. The point of airdodging is to attempt to dodge attacks, not to dodge one attack, stall in the air for 2 seconds, then fall into another you can't possibly avoid. At least with Brawl's airdodge you're not caught in a frame trap the moment you are above your opponent, but you still have to be careful about when you do it or else you'll be right where your opponent wants you to be.

Not to mention that changing your momentum never worked when your character is in a tumble state, making going into a freefall state make even less sense. Melee's airdodge was pretty useless outside of wavedashing, and you almost never see it used at a high level due to how disadvantageous it is to use one simply to dodge attacks.

I wonder how Peach will look in this. Both her Melee and Brawl designs were rather "complex" in comparison to her usual Mario game design, but this time they're not aiming for elaborate/realistic designs at all.

I wouldn't say the designs are less elaborate. It's merely that the designs are more vibrant in color. Mario still has more detailing on him than he does in his own games.

It's worse than that....
4-19 / 49
Peach

It was essentially air lag...wtf developers.

Yeah, that's what I meant. I think most characters have it at 4-29 / 49 (newcomers had it at 4-29 / 39), but Peach was worse for... some reason.

Oh, and Meta Knight had 3-29 / 39, because Meta Knight.

You guys I know what it is, I was just thinking of directional air dodging into the stage without delay.

Multiple air dodges means you can fit multiple ones in a jump without the game shutting down your character until you hit the stage.

It's just the wording, I'm not that far off.

Wow, what a prick.

It's not a big surprise if you've got fuck all to tell us.

I still remember during the Dojo days, everyone waiting up to like 2 A.M. on a weekend (meaning no Dojo update) to see GTTV on Spike because they said they had something Smash related. Turned out to nothing. If Sakurai isn't involved, there will be no new information.

I do agree with the Other M design not being as good anyway, the shoulders are much more boring and I really don't like the little nozzle on the end of her armcannon, it makes it look like it isn't built to fire missiles or something.

Just getting rid of the nozzle makes it look a lot better if you ask me.

Samus's arm cannon has always opened up to fire missiles.
