Seems to be farily common from the sound of things at the official beta forums. I am a few minutes away from client dl/install myself and can comment then.
 
Is there an optimization list yet for which options should be adjusted for smoother performance? I still get some framerate drops and audio stuttering.
 
Omg. I'm trying to download the beta once you register and it keeps saying Server Error please contact Square ENIX blah blah blah. What the hell? I'll never play at this rate! Anyone else experiencing this?

Shit, a friend gave me his PS3 code to download the client, but since he had a legacy account, he didn't receive a registration code for his account, so now I'm stuck in the registration screen :/

I am having the same problem, haven't found any screen adjustment options yet.

Oh, and found out square is to bring up the map for any PS3 players who were trying to figure that out.
 
can you change the voice settings to japanese in this beta 3?
and how to make it so that PT member's hp bar is always shown?
 
Seeing as this is my first MMORPG ever, this might be a dumb question. But when do you start partying up and working with other people? So far all the quests I have done are just single person, no problem quests. I assume it's probably for the best anyway because I barely know what I'm doing anyway.

Level 7 and really enjoying it though. Great music, world, and addicting.

level 15, there's a 4 man dungeon that you can only access in a pt, but that was beta 2
doubt they changed anything
 
The UI is a bit messy on PS3 and it has a really slow start with the meaningless tasks and killing squirrels and such, but I love the world. It also seems like something I will appreciate more after I put some hours into it. Not sure if it's something I want to pay 13 bucks a month in order to play, but I will mess around some more and see how I feel.

I did, I got the code first thing Friday morning. It doesn't work, everytime I type it in it says its invalid. I had to send SE a message explaining it and I'm waiting for a response now, and from the business hours I see on their website I won't be getting resolved until Monday.

Until then, I'm just gonna play my PC beta.
 
What the heck, I thought a large part of the point of this phase was going to be Arcanists being available. Are they just not available through character select? A large part of my interest in ARR is the idea of a dedicated summoning class.

EDIT: Double-checked the patch notes. No testing of Arcanist/Summoner during all of phase 3? What the hell >:( when do they plan on testing this important new class?!

Is there a better way to target enemies when using kb + mouse?

Clicking on small targets or trying to target an enemy on fates with the mouse is really annoying.
 
I can't say I'm really feeling this game, still a bit clunky and stiff. Coming from GW, it's just. Bleh.

Anyway my name is Gabriel Highwind (whatever), and I'm on Ultros.
 
Might be easier asking for a linkshell invite on here since I can't type much in game. Need to get a keyboard.

Do the shadows look awful for anyone else? I'm playing with the settings on High and it's running at 55-60 FPS (GeForce 560ti) but the environmental shadows are just terrible. Everything else looks fantastic, except the textures on some NPCs look pretty flat.
 
So after checking my mail and to my surprise I got a code for PS3. :)

I like the character creation in this game and after fooling around a bit I'm already level 6.

So anyway I'm on Ultros and my name is Dareios Cantes, please someone invite me to a guild or something, this is my first time playing a MMORPG so I'm not sure what to do.
 
Anyone who's a gladiator, how is that class? Is it boring like in other MMO's or is it fun and different. I'm thinking about switching from a black mage to a gladiator since I don't enjoy being so squishy in battle's, also everyone around me 4 hit killing monsters make me envious lol.

So how's the gladiator class?

I liked it a lot in Phase 2 of the Beta, and I doubt it has changed.
 
If any kind soul has a registration code left, please give me a PM. Sadly I got the game downloaded on PS3 but I can't play since I lack that :(
 
Man I missed 24 hours I could've been playing already! SE had sent me an email about all the other beta phases but they forgot to send one this time. Good thing GAF is here to tell me! Dang big update, can't wait to get in game and check out the new stuff.

Can anyone tell me if our characters carried over from phase 2?

Also why on earth can I help kill mobs of other players that are fighting them and get XP?
So weird, it wasn't even a Fate Event

So far bought a Bronze Haub, working on these quest to earn girl + items, wann atry to get to 15 just so I can try out other stuff
 
Attempting to patch the game, but every few minutes the patch fails and it has to restart the download all over again. Please advise?
 
Hey guys. Trying to get into the PC beta. If a kind soul would like to help me with that process I'd appreciate it, but I'm not expecting a handout lol. Really want to mess around with the character creator though.
