Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | June 2013 | Late Ports and Late Threads

wow i jut googled it and seems like hardly anyone knows its out
the news on the google search page is from 2012 saying they HOPE to make it

Edit: oh shit its the psp version not vita? and they still want £10 for it? sod that should be a fiver
Yeeah kinda shitty it's not a Vita version but I could use my fix of football manager on the go and the android version of the game is too light to be honest.

Alright, that's it. I'm done Silent Hill. Fuck I hate you so much.

Just gonna play Toro from now on. Reminds me of Streetpass but it's really neat nonetheless.

Imo you did it all wrong:
1)the game is neither a "pure" dungeon crawler nor a "pure" survival horror but something different with elements of both, playing it expecting a dungeon crawler or a survival horror is wrong.
2)the poison traps are awesome! Have you ever tried to kill poisoned enemies? ;)
3)There's a statistic that protects you from traps
4)in demon's souls there are backtracking and when you die respawn at the beginning of the level losing all the progress, do these things made it a bad game? ;)
5)the game had a patch that:
a)make you respawn at the beginning of the level or at the save point WITHOUT losing your progress but with the need to retrieve your items where you died(exactly like the experience in demon's souls)
b)poison traps now are less letal

I know but it just bores the living hell out of me. Using the poison trap to kill enemies is cool, sure, and I know there's stats for traps and stuff. If I found the game fun I wouldn't mind backtracking or restarting so much, but... It's so dull and tedious. It just isn't for me, I guess. I've tried several times to finish and I can't. I think you replied last time I went on about how I hated it so I'm glad you like it at least! :P

Against my better judgment I bought OMG HD Zombies!, and yeah, it's the Minis version all over again with me loosing track of time and sitting up until very late/early and barely getting any sleep. THANKS FOR GETTING ME HOOKED ON DIGITAL CRACK AGAIN LAUGHING JACKAL.

The game has it's faults and it's a little unique, so i understand that not many people like it, but imo a well made improved sequel would be awesome.

For the last couple of days whenever I enter the "new on PS Vita" tab on PSN store (EU) through my Vita, only the first ~15 titles load on the list, the rest remain blank placeholders. Can't even see all the Instant Games Collection titles because of that. Checked today and apparently the same thing affects the Vita Sale tab. Anyone has similar problems?

yeah mines been like that for a few weeks, not sure what's up with that
when the sales of the pspgames a few weeks ago like when gow and jak n daxter psp were on sale i had blank tiles then and when i checked the on-line store through my pc there were other games on sale that weren't showing up on the vita

-Wait, people are getting Killzone betas? Is there any way I can get one now?

-The Elder Scrolls Morrowind on Vita would be GOTY.

-Digging Gods Eater Burst - any idea if the Vita sequel is coming to America?

I asked the Wayforward guys about supporting the Vita...
they asked me to play their game on the Vita, Silent Hill...
I wonder if that's a subtle way of telling you that it sold like shit.

I'm sorely tempted to buy it, but I can't shake the feeling it'll be a PS+ title.

I felt kinda annoyed.. honestly... but then again... they may not appreciate me tweeting them about bringing Shovel Knight and their other great games to Vita :/

Shovel Knight would be perfect for Vita, damnit. I totally forgot about that.

I bought 999 (DS) for my 3DS XL to prepare for VLR...
not feeling the game yet

(and the 3DS XL is some janky hardware. the volume is hopelessly soft...)

Any gamer here played MLB12 The Show? Any bad stuff to know about it? It's on sale, I am considering it, people say it's a fun game.
It's not native-res so it looks a little muddy and it has some performance hiccups sometimes, but otherwise it's a great game of portable baseball. MLB 13 isn't very different either so you're not missing out on much by buying 12.

They might not appreciate that since Yacht Club Games (ex-WayForward) are working on Shovel Knight, not WayForward lol.

20 minutes of MotoGP 13 gameplay, which comes out tomorrow. Showing off quick race, career mode layout and qualifying (Moto 3 class):

Looks better in motion and on the Vita itself, obviously. The game runs pretty smooth with no framedrops and it's really a great port, all the modes from the home console version are intact.

oops! haha but for Shovel Knight... I think I tweeted Yacht Club Games..
was hoping they bring Mighty Switch Force 2 to the Vita

Couldn't agree more about the 3DS. How the heck it's so heavy btw?

999 is a visual novel, don't expect it to be very gamey or you'll be inevitably disappointed. It's more like a book with choices and clever but easy puzzles along the way.

Glad you like it. :)

When is it coming to the US store? I really liked the PSM version then forced myself to stop when I was told there was an HD version coming.

I was supposed to buy the Vita a couple of days ago but couldn't get it, but I'm getting it now.. my dad will pick it up in about an hour, but I'm still not sure about it :(

Why the sad face? :( It's an awesome piece of hardware, my favorite handheld, and it has lots of fun games. What games were you interested in? Or, better yet, what genres do you like?

so I finished rymdkapsel. it's a fun game but I think it's a little too simple. it plays like a very distilled down base building rts. there is no enemy progression or building upgrades so it's just a race to make the most workers to man defense towers before the air waves get too fast to maintain them

re-posting in the new thread:

question:

I started grad school a few months back. As a result I have very little time for games, and my Vita is just kind of sitting there.
My question is this. For the sake of the battery is it better for me to leave it plugged in for long periods of time or store it unplugged?

i just got mine this week and i love it. great little device, and ps+ gave me a backlog of top notch games to play already

from what I've read about lithium ion batteries you should leave it unplugged and off in a cool place with some of the battery already discharged.

AFAIK PS+ requires 70+ rating on Metacritic. There are some rare exceptions but I suggest to not wait and buy it if you want to play it.

I'm just uncertain about the future of the platform..
I like and try to play games from all genres, theres lots of games I'd like to play on Vita.. I also like a lot of the indie games with the gameplay focus so its great that a lot of these games are coming to the platform

I'm also sitting on a PS+ backlog :p

Anyway, I called the store my dad was supposed to buy it from, they don't have it in stock.
I'll look around some other stores to see if they have the new mega pack bundle and if not I'll just order it from that store tomorrow

Charging for extended periods of time (more than a few days) is not recommended for any battery. Better to store it off charger if you aren't going to use it within a few days.

yeh, from what I understand the only exception is to every so often check the charge state if it would be left for a very long time (months) to avoid storing it in complete discharge

I think it just means you lived through the PS2 era.

Ps1 and Ps2... for sure. And part of it harkens back to my childhood. When shit got crazy on NES it slowed down like a mofo and sprites blinked in and out. That probably drove most people nuts... to me it was a sign that crazy shit was happening.

To answer someone else's question... the framerates don't seem to be locked, no. They are consistent most of the time but there are definitely things that happen that make them dip. Not in normal running or combat... but, for me atleast, when i finish off the last guy and the camera happens to be close as the little particle 'poof' happens it will slow down a bit. Nothing that's affect gameplay for me, yet.

But again - i must warn that im not a framerate snob. I have a PC and always tweak option to get games to 60fps because I feel like that's what im supposed to do... but I can't freaking tell. Playing Sleeping Dogs on my pc at 60 fps and it on my ps3 at what i assume is 30 fps *feels* exactly the same to me. The visual fidelity, of course, is much higher on the pc.

They're shutting down the servers later this year, but apart from that, it's great.

Unrelated: Legends of War: Patton impressions! I've only played through the tutorial and the first couple of campaign missions, but it seems like it'll be enjoyable decent -- and I say that as someone who's not really into turn-based strategy games. The biggest drawbacks:
1) the camera controls are a bit wonky;
2) the map screens seem to be mostly useless; and
3) the tutorial is fairly short, but the first mission bombard you with text explanations.

All that said, I had fun with it. Once I found a workable height for the camera, I found the controls themselves were pretty easy. I'm definitely looking forward to playing more of it, which has to be a good sign.

pc is actually what makes me more tolerant of dodgy frame rates. i've often played games on pc at like 30s fps with big dips to 15fps or whatevber just so I could turn up the graphics options. i can't play the Jak series any other way since my ps3 is dead so I think I'm going to buy it in a few days when I can finish something and make room on my Vita

btw, how big is the Jak collection?

That reminds me, I gotta redeem my Killzone Mercs beta code...

Hotline Miami next week, That's a def buy. I haven't bought anything on PSN since the themed sales stopped. (I still regret not hoppin on GTA Vice City Stories when it was $10, anyone think it will go back on sale?)

Also... Can anyone give me a true explanation on why we havent gotten new PS1 games updated to be playable on Vita??

Why no Crash or Spyro, its making no sense, we're going on 2 year now with no action...

Redeem it in late August when the beta becomes available.

The first screen is decent, but the others :\ anyway graphics don't matter too much if it's a good game :)

Good! keep us informed and give us screens!
