Although I don't believe Punished Snake is Gray Fox, I'm still sticking with the theory that he's not really Big Boss.

I'm thinking it might be Solidus, but there are probably huge holes in that theory.

He is the perfect clone and the one most resembling Big Boss. He also has more rapid aging that the other two Snakes, so a mid 40's looking Solidus might happen. He was elected president of the USA in 2001 as George Sears, looking much older than Punished Snake in '84 and by 2009 and the Manhattan Incident he looks as old as Big Boss in MGS4. The three straps on the eye patch are also interesting, as they may symbolize him being the "third clone". As for the eye patch itself, it could easily be explained as some hypnotic process. The whole mind programming would also be a lot less drastic, as he IS basically Big Boss. Still, it's probably all bogus.

Anyway, has anyone mentioned just how different his horn looks in the Diamond Dogs segment? His horn is larger and lower on his forehead and not made from the same material. It's probably just changes in design through development.

Probably just differences in the model at the time.

People need to realize, wrong as it was, Boss was not killing Civilians per say. The kids in the cells are the same ones that are shown earlier being taught to fire AKs, child soldiers. They were offering him diamonds in exchange for their freedom, and he killed them presumably as retaliation for some earlier killings that the children performed.

As you can see, they look incredibly similar. Snake doesn't have sunglasses. At the end of MG2 Snake went to Alaska....

What if they didn't bring back Snake, but cloned the next best soldier they have? Miller. As you can see, Snake has blonde hair, and at the end of the briefing mission, snake dyes his hair brown to deny his past as Miller, only to 'become' Snake and his memories!

Further proof, in MGS2 Pliskin was designed to have blonde hair.

As you can see, the older Snake/Pliskin looks like older Kaz in MGSV

Solidus is George Sears, and was the President of the US from 2004 to 2008 in the MGS saga. Possibly from 2000 to 2008. So he stopped being president before the Plant chapter and went underground with Ocelot.

As for Liquid, Raiden was of a similar age when he was fighting a full blown war. And also his past suggests that he's in the Middle East, not Africa, although the latter is still possible.

No, James Johnson was the president in MGS2, the successor of George Sears (Solidus) who was president during MGS1 and the Shadow Moses incident (his telephone conversation with Ocelot etc.)

Same I was worried that they got carried away with the design when I saw the playarts figure though I really like the update.

I said before I really hope they just throw these upgraded character models into MGO3.
If not in the base game I would pay $5-$10 for MGS1 Solid Snake.
They also have the MGS2 suit from the legacy collection that we haven't seen a full version of yet.

Punished Snake being Solidus just sounds like David Hayter fan delusion. [maybe this way, Hayter wil still voice snake] Big Boss lost a hand, Solidus didn't[plus, he didn't lose an eye until Big Shell]
But, it is possible Solidus would play a major role.
I'm guessing when Big Boss goes rogue, Zero places Solidus in his role and pretends everything is normal.

Nice idea, I do hope they include unlockable skins of characters from various games, like Rockstar are doing with GTA 5.

Just goes to show that the final game wasn't a massive downgrade from the old trailers like a lot of people say. Texture work was a lot better, and the piss filter was less prevalent. I just wish that Young Snake didn't have a constant grimace.
