Yikes, I'm done trying to play this goddamn beta. Quit the game after nothing was happening on a black screen. Restarted and this time I chose that I have an SE account. It keeps fucking telling me the password is invalid. I know for a fact it is correct. As much as I want to play this beta it ain't worth all this headache, nor do I feel like waiting for customer support another 30+ minutes (I never got through so I just hung up).

And a lot LESS multiplayer content. I feel like they just want me to keep solo grinding on their boring quests but I just wanna do shit with friends. They need to give us more party content, their 2 pitiful dungeons ain't cuttin it for the FFXI players.

The beta only has content up to level 20 I believe even though the cap is higher.

See the additional effects each spell has? Casting one gives you a buff accordingly. Umbral Ice significantly reduces the cost of spells and increases your mana regeneration. Astral Fire increases the cost of your fire spells, but also increases the damage of such spells.
Transpose swaps these two buffs. If you have the Ice one and cast it, you'll have the Fire one instead, and vice Versa.
Take the time and read your tooltips, because Thaumaturge is incredible when played correctly.

but enjoy the beta, its worth it lol
Because it'll do less and less damage. Against low level opponents it'd work (slowly) but you wouldn't outlast against higher level opponents. The Fire spell on the other hand, increases in damage the more you get that buff.

Because blizzard damage is shit compared to astral stance fire damage. Play the class right. If i ever saw a THM just spaming Blizzard the whole time in my party I'd kick his ass out in a heartbeat.
I can't even remember my password and password recovery is impossible since I forgot the secret question I used and the answer. heh.
I had to make a new account just to play the beta. Square-Enidos' services are awful.
You mean the MP regen buff or the fire buff?
As it is I've randomly seen the MP costs go down choosing a different spell but it seems entirely random on when that happens.
The MP regen buff will make all your attacks go down, but it also lowers the cost of spells too. The Fire regen buff will make your next fire spell do more damage, but it'll increase the cost too.
TLDR: Cast Blizzard when you want mana, cast Fire when you want damage. Transpire to swap the buff.

I figured all this stuff out in 2 minutes come on man.
As for why transpose wasn't working for you from the start, the spell needs to land and do damage in order to recieve astral fire or umbral ice
Got it. But that doesn't solve the issue of hotkeys or EXP.
Do quests in the area.
Do hunting logs
Chain high level mobs.
Get massive XP.

Tying Blizzard, Fire, Tranpose, Thunder to 1-0 on the keyboard in the PS3 version. I don't see a spell/attack tab in the keybind menu. And I can't seem to set a macro to activate it.
Weirdly pressing 1 already auto-casts Blizzard, but 2-0 are nada. I can't seem to figure out how to bind them to the keyboard.

Curses! I got an ugly looking hat with better stats than my witch hat so I gotta use it. Is there a way to get a better witch hat/upgrade the one I own?

Cuz on the KB/M setup, you just drag em to where you want them on the bar and right click to clear them.

O-kay.... so what's the issue? If they're on the bar and you flicked the toggle switch, your first hotbar should be automatically set up for 1 through 0....
If they're not, go bind them in the menu.

He is just talking about setting the skills to the bar itself. Your movement and spells can still be on the same hand...
You can bind the slots on the bar to whatever you want by going to the aptly named "keybinds" section of the main menu.

Go under "Character Configuration" and there's a "Camera Controls" subsection.
The issue is, they aren't binded like your shot. You're using the PC hotbar. I'm on PS3 and there's no way to bind them that way unless I'm missing the tab that binds the hotbar.
...Which isn't there unless I'm blind in the bind tab.

I don't know if it's a 'known issue' but there's definitely a glitch with this button.
This is silly. I wiped Windows between last weekend and this weekend, and when I try to click the link that was in the E-mail to redownload the beta client, I can't log in.
It says I have an incorrect username/password combination, but I don't; I can log in to other parts of the Square Enix systems, including account management. I tried changing my password a couple times, but it's useless.

It's responsive, combat speed would be around the medium fast range.

So what's the general consensus from the beta test thus far?
When you log into the square-enix page, it'll say something like "Square Enix ID: <name>". Make sure you're using that ID and not your email address, since you can also log onto their site with email rather than ID.

I double checked and I don't see what you're trying to show me in the first image (the X bar?) but I don't have a "switch" to change it to the PC hotbar and the keybind on the PS3 stops at the system tab. There's no hotbar tab for the PS3 version for keyboard and mouse controls.
Which leads back to: How the fuck am I supposed to hotkey these things on the PS3 version? Square has no documents for the keyboard and mouse controls on PS3.
Anyone know?
I asked in GAF guild and they said it supports KB/M on the PS3 no problem. I'm not sure why you're having difficulty....

I'm not that high level and I would just like to know how much it changes. It's a bit too repetitive for me, but the highest I got was a 25 lnc/gld and a 17 arc.
