Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | June 2013 | Late Ports and Late Threads

What time zone is that? I'm EDT and I've never seen a store update go up past say, 11pm. Unless it gets delayed by days for some reason (see: Soul Sacrifice Demo release snafu).
I'm EDT also and one of the many examples of them updating past 11 our time was the Gravity Rush release. Had to wait til almost 2 am wed to get it.

Yeah, that seems likely tonight. The update isn't going up anytime soon, I fear. I'm hoping it'll be up by 3am.
But they'll probably fuck it up.

I tried the VLR demo a while back and didn't really like it, but I'll probably still download and give it a better look since it will be free anyway.

Sweet. Picked up Hotline Miami(my 2012 game of the year) and free Virtue's Last Reward. I am really digging my Vita. I have had P4G for like a week and a half and already put 35 hours into. Plus with a small child it is perfect to just pick up and play here and there when you have time :)

Ahh, on the blog post. I see it now, thanks Chedz.
Is Escape Plan worth $3.74 or whatever?

It's bad. Puzzles aren't clever at all and are just difficult because of gimmicky and clunky controls. As much as I normally like fart jokes, the humor doesn't do it for me most of the time.
One of my worst Vita game purchases. Only the music is good.

Muramasa and Hotline Miami have been PURCHASED

Don't plan on playing the latter, but I bought it on principle alone. I want more twin-stick centric games on mah Vita.

dunno if people saw but IGN has their Muramasa review up.

TL;DR

8.0 - Muramasa Rebirth is a faithful port of Vanillaware’s classic action-RPG, one that absolutely shines on Vita’s OLED screen. It’s not only Vita’s prettiest game; it’s also a hell of a lot of fun to play. Immersive, stylish, and full of action, Muramasa Rebirth’s twin campaigns, multiple endings, hidden Demon Swords, massive exploration and other optional goodies are enough to keep you busy for a good long while.

* +Stunning graphics
* +Excellent soundtrack
* +Two campaigns to experience
* +Enjoyable combat

* – Backtracking can be a chore

Has anyone purchased Hotline Miami yet -- did you purchase PS3 or Vita version and did crossbuy work?

I purchased the Vita version and on my download list I have "Hotline Miami" and "Hotline Miami PS Vita", as I cant download the first one to my Vita I assume it's the PS3 version.

Correct. Numerous people are saying you're getting both and it was confirmed a few days ago it's YOPO.

Wow, don't play Hotline Miami without headphones.

Yeah I agree with that, it's really disappointing in play compared to what it might look like in trailers and the like. Clunky as hell, a bit broken, and just very unresponsive, which you really need in a largely timing-based puzzle game.

Edit: plus the fact that the DLC is patched in rather than being downloadable from the Store (just a key you buy) so even if you don't want the DLC, you'll need a ton of space.

Muramasa, Hotline Miami, and VLR downloaded.

Decent update - wish I had the free time to play all these games...

...wait, I do! Being a teacher is awesome because of summer vacation :-D

The exclusive mask in Hotline Miami is pretty cool:

Seems Frozen Synapse's port is more a "remake" by Double 11 than the PC/iPhone/Android version by Mode-7/original devs. I dunno how I feel about that.

Quick impressions after playing the first two levels of Hotline Miami:

-Game looks crisp on dat oled and you can see every tiny detail
-Soundtrack is awesome, headphones are a must
-Control with the sticks work pretty good and using the touchscreen to look ahead and lock onto enemies is very responsive

In short, go and buy it, its a solid port!
