Being as dumb as she was, is not normal for someone heading off to University.

I doubt she could even read honestly. When they told her to read the paper, she looked to be struggling tremendously.

She could not have been worse for the prosecution, and was killed by the defense. She honestly could not have been a worse witness.

Your friend is dead, and you are in a trial to help convict the person who killed him. Why the hell, would you ever say "I aint coming back", and get mad when they said there is still a couple more hours of questioning. It's your fucking friend. Who would ever feel they have better things to do. What the hell did she think this was?

If Zimmerman does get off, she will be a big reason why.

Are you kidding? Since I got out of highschool the standards for which people pass and go to college has been getting lower and lower. I remember my TA friend telling people kids were using hashtags and "lol, wut, etc" in fucking college papers.

This is a he said she said testimony where one of the only two people who really know what happened is dead and all witnesses are highly questionable in regards to what they heard, saw, or know.

I don't think we'll ever know what really happened but with the evidence that's been on display so far I can't say I'd be that comfortable putting Zimmerman away.

In Canada it's difficult to get into University. That is why it blows my mind how America continues to devalue degrees.

Reminds me of the OJ trial. I'm a big believer in karma. If he did actually commit second degree murder, even man slaughter, he'll be held accountable. One way or another.
 
I'm pretty excited to see what happens first thing in the morning. Should be a reasonably interesting day in the court room again I wonder if they are going to call more neighbors I hope not they were the least helpful it seems.

he followed an innocent teenager, harassed him, and shot him when those actions escalated to violence. And that's by his own admission.

They accept many that they know won't make it past the first year. Some suggest this girl may not be able to read at an adult level because of how she reacted today, but if she's on the way to college, that's probably not true.

Which is why it surprised me she admitted Trayvon called George Zimmerman a cracker.

Makes him seem pretty damn racist.
 
As ignorant as she may be, I think she came off as very authentic. Honestly I think overall she was a positive for the prosecution. And I also think the hard questioning toward her from the defense team will help the all women jury sympathize with the witness.

She could not have been worse.

A) She got caught lying about something she previously said.

B) She was a fool, sounded like a fool, and did not seem credible at all. She didn't want to be there, she couldn't speak properly, couldn't read properly, and simply didn't come off as trust worthy.

C) She stated Trayvon called Zimmerman a "Creepy Ass Cracker". In a trial, that hinges on race, and Zimmerman being a possible racist and Trayvon being this nice sweet kid. That was not good. You heard audible noise in the court room when she said it.

For a Star Witness, it would have been difficult for her to be any worse then what she was.

CNN and HLN are trying to spin the fuck out of this trial. I watched it while it was happening, and it was a travesty for the prosecution.

I don't know if Zimmerman is guilty or not.

I think it is really awesome that you can watch video of trial without commentary on the Internet (e.g. on YouTube here: http://www.youtube.com/user/thecount) and form an opinion without relying on the reporting by the media, or things people say about the case on the Internet.

I really wish this was available for all trials.

Sadly here in the UK, it's illegal to photograph inside a courtroom.
 
Oh shit that was an absolutely embarrassing testimony. Blew away the entire notion of the innocent little Trayvon and now he looks like a racist thug. If this was the prosecutions star witness, then I really don't see a guilty verdict being handed down.

Eh I'm glad our proceedings aren't televised. Justice isn't a spectacle or a form of entertainment.

It's not about it being entertainment.

It's about there being an independent record anyone can view.

There's a difference between them being televised and sensationalised, and an unbiased mechanical recording of proceedings.

If you compare what happened in court with the way it's reported in this case, you can see why.


Edit - to be clear. It should be like the coverage of parliament - i.e. no commentary.
 
Saying Zimmerman should be free before he's even testified is pretty asinine.

Using terms like star witness is indicative of a familiarity with legal process gleaned from watching law and order, not real life.
 
Every questioned asked was a simple question, they haven't even began questioning her as to why she has changed her story multiple times. She will get picked apart tomorrow by the defense.

Zimmerman will go free because he killed Trayvon in self defense.

I'm not American so I only know what I've heard on the news.

What's the general consensus? Was the kid a thug killed in self defence or did Zimmerman straight up murder this guy?

Yes.

Honestly, only two people know for sure and one of them is dead.

It's a tough case to prosecute or defend - I don't envy either team.

I still don't understand it. The original poster said it was a racist thing and I thought Nigga was different to Nigger, as one is used for racial vilification and one is not. Can you tell me what I'm missing?

George Zimmerman stalked Trayvon Martin and murdered him.
That statement was an undeniable fact before the trial and it will be an undeniable fact after the trial. If Zimmerman goes free, our justice system has failed...again.

I think he using it to mean "dude". Or at least that's how I understood it. Context is important.
