So I have a question GAF, I'm trying to learn Anti-Mage, is it generally OK to just use the highest rated user-made build(in this case, from Na'ViXBTOC or something, I recognize Na'Vi, but not the player)?

If the build has you skipping points in blink in favour of getting stats I don't recommend it if you're new to anti-mage. Otherwise, go for it.

I would spend time practicing last hitting with bots till you can make a sub 20 minute battlefury.

don't get Midas, bfury only if under 20min and try to not overextend fights. All advice you need.

One more question; this time not related to AM, I see a lot of people bad mouthing Juggs for competitive play, any particular reason(s) why?

What changed with Timbersaw that he's such a common pick now? I seem to see him every game I play.

6.78
Base Strength increased by 3.
Int growth increased from 1.8 to 2.4.
16px-Chakram_icon.png
Chakram initial manacost rescaled from 125/150/175 to 75/125/175.
16px-Chakram_icon.png
Chakram move speed increased from 800 to 900.

Buff int/str, ult

Ugh the worst thing is getting disruptive, uncooperative people who fucking last pick the worst things.

Got forced to mid as DK after buying the completely wrong set of items (intended to go bot) and things were awful from there. Not to mention the braindead Viper that goes top and feeds - no map awareness at all causes my invis/DD rune gank to result in 2 deaths.

I don't want to get into it anymore.

And in case you wanted to play the Dota roulette guessing game, yes, it was a Russian/CIS asshole.

And the other team was a party of 3+ as well, so that didn't help.

I am both appalled and amazed that you used mini icons.

How is Treant still in his current state? Ruins every game he's in. 100% bullshit.

lol, 5 months ago everyone whined he was shit hero.

Eh. I think you mostly just have to account for the fact that you're not going to get early kills (that you otherwise would have) and chip damage to towers is non-existent. So you focus on getting more of a defensive ricing lineup that can push down towers in quick bursts. Assuming you can prepare for him. Tree peaks early-mid game and doesn't offer much at all by himself late.

To be fair, I don't see him that much, and I don't play him myself since he's boring as fuck. Fewer buttons than Skeleton King.

Is Broodmother a hero worth learning? I think I enjoy the heroes like Meepo or Chen that play differently than others. That sub-40% winrate is a little scary though.

She's not really in the best place right now in terms of power level. Even played well, she's very predictable and people know how to react. Not to mention she really wants/needs a solo lane, preferably vs. another solo, and you're not likely to get that in a general pub game.

And if you do poorly, you're probably feeding more gold with your spiderlings than if you just died repeatedly yourself. Highly situational hero at best.

No Gaf party open?

If you really want to counter him, there are some heroes that work well enough. Multiple quick damage bursts, like Slark, venomancer, viper, pudge, against towers death prophet.
Sure it's just one lane that will have this advantage, but it's bette than nothing.

No Gaf party open?

Was just getting a quick game in before this LGD/Orange game started. There was a 1 hour gap between the last set and this match.

Also - just looked up the guy who played Viper. He probably had no fucking idea what he was doing because of all the games he's played ~40% of them are Lifestealer (who was picked by the other team in this case) with another 40% split between Drow and Clinkz. That's over 200 games of Naix btw.

For the life of me I will never understand people who only play 1-2 heroes constantly. Most boring thing ever.

Because 5 months ago he was a shit hero. Until 6.77C changed his Living Armour to the current incarnation.

Frankly, he's still a shit hero. Just one attached to an ridiculous skill.

That's like saying mag or enigma are shit heroes with RP and Black Hole. AM without blink or Lifestealer without rage. Often times a single skill makes 90% of the hero. Living armor dominates the early game (and is great late game carry v carry, overgrowth is great for setup and ganks (very short CD), and his leech seed heal is pretty great in teamfights as well.

I dunno if there will be a 6.78c before TI3, but I can see him getting a very minor nerf. I think treant is a very easy hero to nerf, there are so many options: up the manacost on living armor slightly, increase the CD slightly, reduce the damage block a tad, or reduce the charges by 1. All will make just enough of a diff. without neutering the hero.

Support tree is lame
Carry tree is best tree

Both games I picked a support and took the safe lane with my buddy (who plays the best treant). Let him get all the last hits and early kills. If you build damage items early you can be hitting for 150+ at level 5. Treant with fast treads and a lucky DD rune can 3-4 shot every hero early game

Fun times

Nature's Guise seems like a spell that Treant was built around a long time ago. Did he have a significantly different kit in previous versions?

I just saw my first ever quintlane. Yes, you read that right, a quintlane.

Saw that, don't know why they went on the sand king instead of you either.

Also what went wrong with rosh at the start is that you stayed and tried to take it. Should have just gone to lane. So what if they get the rosh if you can get the gold and exp in lane?

Then that defeated the entire purpose of even contesting it at all?

Every time someone complains in here about a level 1 Rosh, it's always the same solution. See the picks, go there, contest it. Guess what, that didn't work.

I don't think so. You got kills on them and if they go back they lose lane farm. The advantage of the level 1 rosh was (somewhat) negated but you ended up feeding kills on top of that when they respawned.

Which brings me back to my point, they still got that advantage at the end of the day and we lost heroes, so they pretty much got the full advantage.

And you lost heroes because you stayed at the rosh. You didn't have a lone druid bear or something to tank its hits, and you didn't have the damage or lifesteal aura to kill it. Then they respawned and mopped you up.

Oh, bitch bitch bitch.

He has had several significantly different kits. The slots where leech seed and living armor are have gone through multiple revisions.

But then they still get the Rosh, we are forced to go back to base (or already blow our regen) because we are low. I'm starting to think the best counter is not to contest it at all.

3 months ago people were calling him a shit hero. Guess what? That's when 6.77c came out. They still called him garbage up until a few weeks ago. People only started going omg soo op once Goblak started using him.

Completely besides the point, anyway. Pick smarter against him instead of playing stupid. It's not broke.

Can we have region lock now? Nothing like a Russian teammate who is completely awful telling me that he'll fuck my dog and mother because I was doing better than his Russian buddies. It's that time of the day I guess.

Semblance

shhh Graham I'm still compiling this Radiant map
Maaan, this game can be really demoralizing when you're getting crushed badly.

I need to find some equally new-ish players to group up.
