Just played Treant for the first time today and he gets nerfed!

Kind of a fun hero though, hard to pay attention to your lane though when you're constantly having to check on the rest of your team

Map awareness is kind of important

http://www.playdota.com/changelogs/6.78c
* Rage cooldown increased from 15 to 17 seconds
* Flamebreak cooldown increased from 11 to 14
* Tether movement bonus decreased from 20% to 17%
* Living Armor damage block instances from 7 to 4/5/6/7
* Chemical Rage bonus HP reduced from 300/600/900 to 250/500/750
* Gyrocopter attack range reduced from 375 to 365
* Team 2 now bans second instead of first in Ban Phase #2. (All other phases and orders are the same)
Thoughts?
Nerfffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffft

Had to abandon another game because of shitty internet. It sucks so much when that happens.

Edit: Oh it doesn't matter if it's a bot game? Then that's good.

Why not? Weaver is a carry, some players like a midas on all carries.

name one aside from that TPL game

edit: I kind of want to watch the DD game just to see what fucked up draft Fuckingmad comes up with.
Almost. But Blaze is casting with Triumph.

Thats not an option when playing SD...

Yeah any hero that relies on counterpicking can become really annoying in, well, basically every mode that isn't captains mode honestly. Because in All Pick if a guy is going to take Sniper its going to be as the fifth pick two seconds before the horn blows

So from I can tell so far, having no muted players on the team means you have reasonable chance of winning pub. Muted players means you have someone that will likely lose the game for you.

Great system Valve. No wait, it's terrible.

This is like 6 months old but valve should make:

an Unmute Key. No mutes/unmuted for 24h. $2.
a Ban Hammer. Extra report power for 24h. $20.

Not necessarily. Teamed up with a mute today in Dota (god that sounds so politically incorrect). We planned most of our ganks by using the ping function and won.

Having muted players might likely lose the game for you because they were probably raging assholes in the first place.

Nope, sorry, Dota 2 is perfect.

Community is growing at a ridiculous pace as well.

They've supported it with plenty of heroes in the past 2 months.

One day I realized that sadness is just another word for not enough coffee.
Is this a viable strategy though? Like for example if you were going Skelly King bot to farm, buying a Midas would be viable or would it be better to rush Armlet?

They're both viable, it's always a matter of tradeoffs.

Midas: Weaker early game, stronger late game
Armlet: Stronger early game, slightly weaker late game.

It really comes down to how long you think you can avoid committing to fights.

Bot game abandons are counted. It just might be that you have many games where you didn't abandon so you were not put to LPQ.

AHAHAHHAAAHHA milk u ok bro? u know this kid is a scum picker when half of a small update nerfs his heroes

I would have wanted a range decrease on gyros flak to 800 instead of 1000.

Have no idea why alch deserved a nerf.

Everything else is good.
icefraud has been watching alienware cup. Alchemist has been picked or banned (and wins in the game's he is picked) in close to 100% of those games, so fucking boring.

I don't watch all pro games that are played.

I dunno what you are implying here. I said there are a lot plenty of players that get midas on a lot of carries. Weaver is a carry.

Midas is an item when you are ahead to get more ahead. You can get midas on every hero you want, but if you need to win the midgame, building midas isn't that smart because the item itself doesn't do much. The longer a game goes, the more it goes into your favor though. More XP and more money than the enemy.

bro valve statistics show that less than 1% of active players are muted.

ignore the anecdotal evidence from pretty much everyone that half the team is usually muted in solo queue that's a lie in gaben we trust

When is the next GAF match for the tourney? Giantbomb needs to get their shit together. No reason that what is effectively an 8 team tournament (8 low skill and 8 high skill) should be taking this long.

I think that it's more like 50% of players of play 20+ matches/week.

If Valve's definition of "active players" means at least 1-2 game/week then those people have a very low chance of being banned unless they played 2 asshole games in 48 hours.

Ah I see. So if you needed the farm and money as fast as possible, it would be a great item but at the same time you risk putting yourself at a disadvantage mid game towards late unless you had the XP and gold advantage to begin with. Makes sense.

The muted players I've had are mostly terrible, which leads me to believe they were muted for acting dumb rather than saying something offensive.

Those changes are neato, tree ent wasn't in the spotlight for too long ;_;.

If this is launch week (along with summer sale, perfect frontpage advertisting for valve), wonder if we will get test client tomorrow with new heroes on it, to make sure launch goes smooth.

Also midas exort invoker is the only way to play invoker with style.

Yeah the tournament scheduling is pretty meh... very very slow, they should just schedule 2-3 series back to back. Apparantly the next team we are playing with cardinalsins keeps cancelling and rescheduling, so it's a pain in the ass to organize a game against them. We were supposed to play them this weekend but they cancelled.

Just started playing this game and loving it, its my first moba game so it feels like I have some hard work and time to spend to learn...

Only played around 25 games so far... mainly picking Zeus and Sniper to try being lame on distance and not feed too much... any suggestions on what other heroes that might be easy for a noob learning to play?

The system is generally fine, people who get muted deserve it, I love when they complain about the week long ban which is the 3rd offence.

Every hero is fun and easy except Meepo, Chen, Invoker, Wisp, Lone Druid, Puck, Tinker and Visage.

There should have been a rule that if you cancel too often the other team just wins. If you don't have time for a tourney don't play in a tourney.

That's definitely true, but at the same time that's like throwing 100 suspected criminals in jail, catching 60, and calling it a day, "most deserve it." Most people abuse the report system (I know I have), and just report people for anything and everything, feeding, being a foreigner, staying silent, offering criticism, etc... we've even got milk troll banned and probably a few other people too. The system is automated and it only takes 2 reports from anyone to get you banned, one report if you've been banned recently. That's just awful. And this is coming from someone who has never been muted.

There should have been a rule that if you cancel too often the other team just wins. If you don't have time for a tourney don't play in a tourney.

Yeah I'm not big on the rules, but they'll probably more strict in future gb tournaments idk.

They could have the system skim through the chat log and at least check for language, it's not perfect but the people I've seen muted have deserved it.

Organizing and running 40 people and refs and streamers, all of whom have lives outside of the game (supposedly), means it's never going to take a short time, or just one weekend. Community tourneys always take forever.

I dunno why Valve keeps picking such unbalanced matchups. Both this week and last week's are horribly in favour of the Dire.
I've been enjoying the challenge. Both games I played last night had Radiant offensive tri vs Dire defensive tri with Gyro vs Sylla at bottom. I think that allows for a nice situation where the SD and Lesh can rotate mid early on too..

question about Nyx: after I get magic wand, arcane boots and dagon 1, what do I go for? dagon 2? or ethereal blade? or something else

If you are playing seriously, dont level dagon after lv1, get a blink or a Sheep depending on how well you are doing. If you can't initiate from Vendetta for whatever reason, get Blink. If your team needs another disable, get sheep. If youa re playing on 2 position, a Sheep should usually come first.

I've already moved on, you know how it is bro. I discover a hero is OP three months before it happens, then he becomes first pick/ban, then I stop picking him and move on to the next best thing. ez.

Really like the stuff this guy is doing:

If you haven't heard these Dota songs, you absolutely should!

A World Without Balance

I like the leshrac one!

Lion and Crystal Maiden are good supports for new players.
