Nothing I've seen indicated that he had any interest in romantic relationships with adults. He seemed to view children as his peer group, as if he was living a perpetual childhood. To my knowledge, his sleepovers were always with young boys. His picture books... There seemed to be a lot of red flags. I think the public took comfort in any shred of doubt they could get because of his music.

Someone can easily say Casey A is guilty and MJ is not. Even though both were acquitted. The girl was found in a trash bag for god's sakes. She wasn't reported missing until a month later, her mother lying through her teeth. In MJ case, they just don't have any evidence at all. I mean the FBI raided MJ's house, analyzed 16 computers and nothing was found.

I want to believe this is complete bullshit (love Michael) but some of this new evidence sounds convincing and plausible. The man is gone. Why publish this article now? It's not like anything can be done about it. Why hurt the positive memories we have of him? It's also worth noting that the original "abused" kid (Jordan Chandler?) came out some twenty years later and stated that nothing had ever happened. That his Father was willingly trying to extort money out of Jackson and fabricated everything. That came out in late 2009 shortly after Michael's passing. I thought that revelation finally put to rest all of this but the British newspapers seem to be going at it again.

I tend to think one reason why many people defend MJ is because so many say "sick fuck, evil, evil, evil, burn the witch like all pedos" when Jackson's life story is practically a cartoon exaggeration of how a person can be fucked up and screwed over by family and circumstances.
I don't know if he actually did do more than suffer inappropriate thoughts about children and broken emotions. I don't think it's a slam dunk to conclude he did.
I do think, unless the man was busy murdering babies, that this is a situation where nobody "wins" any righteousness points by flaying Jackson posthumously. With his life, everyone lost. Jackson, any kids he actually approached, etc. If you want to get angry at someone and seethe at a sick fuck, take it up with his father.

I have no idea if this shit is true, I do know he was proven innocent in court. But if something was to come to light which did prove he was involved in illegal acts, that should be made public. The hero worship in here is scary

The problem with calling MJ a pedophile is that we KNOW people lied that their child was abused by him in order to get money. So when 1 person successfully makes up stuff to get paid it isn't unreasonable that alongside his extremely eccentric behaviour others would try the same thing.
I don't know whether he did it or not, but uncorroborated "leaked papers" in a bottom tier tabloid definitely wont shift my opinion.

Seriously. Imagine him being a plumber instead and someone writing that about him. A grown man that enjoyed sleeping in bed and being around children and was accused of molestation is not perverted at all because he made music I liked.

In my opinion. No one truly knows except the participants. Pedophiles just don't abuse every kid they have access to, they invariably select those least likely to be believed, in MJ's case those from very poor families or broken homes whose families he bought houses and cars; who were literally star struck.
He also employed Pellicano et al to dig dirt on these families way before any abuse was reported. To me it's obvious he was researching victims to see who could be bought off if things turn bad before laying a finger on their kids.
Michael surrounded himself with yes men and sleazebags. He went through several Doctors who were reluctant to prescribe the horse tranquilizers a previous poster called 'sleeping pills' until he found one who would.

He wouldn't have the money of time/ resources to pump into making a dream land that size nor would he likely be eccentric enough to think that he could share his fantasy land and his problems dealing with adults with others and expect them to understand.
I would think that a normal person that was dealt a crap childhood would have other ways of expressing their desire for a childhood later in life. For example, they could help build playgrounds or volunteer for the YMCA or by being involved with kids from family members or w/e which would allow them to interact with children and keep their inner child happy in a more NORMAL life. But that's assuming that a normal person would be able to heal from having a shit childhood in privacy. A plumber wouldn't have the world looking at his every move, likely wouldn't have vast amounts of money and the problems that causes with a family, wouldn't have been raised in such a warped world and on top of that ... there would be NO money in using his unusual attachment to kids against him (as was the case with the first kid and his parents for MJ ... which started this whole mess).
MJ had BIG problems but I would sooner believe him to be a targeted victim than to think that after this one false accusation every logical parent there-after simply ignored it and innocently lined up to put their kids in his care. I believe that these accusations are false and that's why they can never seem to find any solid evidence other than "he's weird/ creepy and IMO every man has a sexually deviant inside him ... and MJ didn't like adults sooooo".

Don't quote Rolling Stone when it comes to rock idols. They're infamous for putting them on a pedestal. Maddox didn't choose to go to Page. She was forcibly abducted by one of Zeppelin's people and kept in a hotel room so Page wouldn't get into trouble. Clearly she was attracted to Page, but who knows how things would've gone if she wasn't?
But I actually agree with you. They're not comparable crimes, but I think it's interesting how Page basically gets a free pass for all his debauchery.
First off, you shouldn't be letting any adult sleep in the same bed as your kid. Second off, the point is that Jackson was not an old Republican senator, or any other archetype you have to offer. He was a complete weirdo, so all the usual assumptions you would make about a person's behavior can't be made about him.
Again, I don't think it's a stretch that someone as childlike as Jackson maybe just wanted to hang out with children. You probably hold his childishness as further evidence of him being a pedo, but to the best of my knowledge that's not a shared (or even common) trait among pedophiles.

Word. There's also Ghosts. One of the best tracks he ever did. The video is criminally underrated. Then you have In The Closet, Give In To Me, HiStory. He never truly reached the creative heights of his prime time but he came damn close with subsequent music produced after Bad. MJ has one of the greatest music discographies of all time (if not the greatest) and that includes his later releases. The topic title at hand is entirely debatable. The quality and consistency of his musical prowess and legacy is not.
One track that's never mentioned is the previously unreleased track from Thriller Behind the Mask. It's from the Thriller-era but it was technically "released" in 2010.

This is one of the craziest posts in this thread. Are you including grandparents? Aunts and uncles? What about best friends of the kid's parents? I've slept in the same bed with my grandparents and with my aunt before. They didn't molest me. I've slept in the same bed as a friend of mine's kid. And while I was really uncomfortable with just the idea of it (since all men are child molesters, as you know), I certainly didn't molest the kid. I've baby sat for friend's kids and we've all fallen asleep on the couch watching TV and no one got molested.
