People are still complaining about Morrigan and not how dumb the game is in general?
What happened with dieminon? Jebaily seems salty on twitter
He refunded the donation money because Triforce got that last minute beech bailout. No happy ending I guess, just a footnote in the saga of EMP "management"
People are still complaining about Morrigan and not how dumb the game is in general?
No, but Doom is the most played character in the game and there's ALWAYS awesome new tech. Most hype thing that happened at Curleh West this past weekend was Miniboss using missiles to OTG into lazers and sphere flame.
Morrigan meanwhile... SOUL FIST SOUL FIST SOUL FIST SOUL FIST.
Nope, just "because Japan".Why is high-res fottage so rare? Are nesica cabs usually incompatible with capture cards? HDCP thing perhaps?
Yeah I'm having trouble understanding why EMP coming through with the Evo money is a bad thing.
It's scummy because Triforce never would have come through had Dieminion not forced his hand. Some people think it's scummy relying on fans as a safety net or something
Most people know the game is dumb, it's that we don't care.
That makes the complaints about Morrigan all the more sillier, though.
Depends on who's playing him. No character can swag like Doom can swag, just ask Marlinpie.
Morrigan is the anti-hype.
Some people think it's scummy relying on fans as a safety net or something
The fuck? Doom is hype? Is this bizarro world? I'd watch 8 Morrigans in top 8 rather than the 8 Dooms we're going to see.
Yeah I'm having trouble understanding why EMP coming through with the Evo money is a bad thing.
He used to be hype back when Marlinpie was busting out new stuff with him on a weekly basis.
Now everyone plays him and there's no new stuff.
Evo doesn't truly start until someone comes into the thread and complains that Phoenix is broken.
It comes off as a last minute opportunity for Triforce to save face. EMP players were panhandling the community for donations, and some were even straight up dismissing the prospect of going to EVO.Yeah I'm having trouble understanding why EMP coming through with the Evo money is a bad thing.
Same problem as with XBONE- it should not take massive public outcry and external pressure for you to do the right thing. It reflects incredibly poorly on his management.I'm like you I don't see what the big deal is.
I'll try...
I don't get it![]()

It's not surprising why Jebailey is upset. He put a lot of effort to help Dieminion, even when Dieminion was not being forthright about why he needed to ask for assistance.
I really hope he wasn't trying to thread that needle.Late on this, but James Chen is right: NRS didn't and never has paid anything to Evo.
WB is another matter.
Yep. You have to wonder if Daigo has anything else up his sleeve...and if so how long it will last this time.
It's scummy because Triforce never would have come through had Dieminion not forced his hand.
Not even sure why James would try to make a statement like that w/o backing it up when there is mounting evidence to the contrary.Late on this, but James Chen is right: NRS didn't and never has paid anything to Evo.

EM(a)PologistLoL and how do you know this do tell.
These players were severely close to not attending EVO. I think that Triforce was hamstringing them and had they not put pressure on him by seeking donations, he wouldn't have sent them at all."Triforce is a PoS! He wasted money that should've been used to send his players to Evo!"
"Triforce got the money to send his players to Evo! He's a PoS!"
Obviously it would've been better if players didn't need to go as far as to do donation drives in the first place, but shit is dumb.
I don't know about Saint Marteen specifically, but each time I fly to Japan I have to provide my passport number to the airplane company. Why would VxG need his passport #?
(No, you do not need it to get plane tickets).
Tom Cannon seemed pretty clear that EVO could not run Injustice without publisher assistance. Like James, I didn't sense anything nefarious when EVO announced Injustice. Not even sure why James would try to make a statement like that w/o backing it up when there is mounting evidence to the contrary.

Because they had to ask for donations in the first place, which means that the players had zero expectation of Triforce coming through.LoL and how do you know this do tell.
At the time, it was just more of a funny "lolmoneyhat" thing- the game clearly deserves to be there. But having the lowest-turnout game get a stream all to itself on day 2? That's ridiculous.Tom Cannon seemed pretty clear that EVO could not run Injustice without publisher assistance. Like James, I didn't sense anything nefarious when EVO announced Injustice.

Man, it is really weird how people easily forget how bad of a manager Triforce is. It really wasn't long ago when he "suspended" his FG team which led to EMP players to seek new sponsors.
I don't know about Saint Marteen specifically, but each time I fly to Japan I have to provide my passport number to the airplane company.
It's just a technical thing. NRS is a game developer. WB is a giant corporation. Which one do you think has the money? I know people treat NRS and WB as the same thing, but they are distinct entities, even if one owns the other.
Can't blame them for that. I had to rush a passport after I won a qualifier to Amsterdam.or maybe they just wanted to check if he had a passport before spending the money on a ticket.

Is NRS even an entity or just a group of employees & assets within a WB division?
I don't know why you want to defend Triforce, but you don't have to look far to see how good teams, like Brokentier or EG, support their players. When's the last time they needed to set up their own WePay donation pages to go to tournaments? So I guess he shouldn't have tried to get that money at all so it wouldn't be obvious that he was pressured into doing so? That would've been the right thing to do?
And yeah I guess just because I'm not on board this particular Triforce pile-on it must mean I don't still think Triforce is a shitty manager.
That may be a special case for Japan. I've never had to provide a passport number for any flight to the Caribbean. Maybe St Maarten is different, or maybe they just wanted to check if he had a passport before spending the money on a ticket.
So it's his fault that the delay happened.

watching these old EVO fights, i loved how the theme got uptempo when folks where near dead in the older SF games.
I'm mostly sure you don't need to provide a passport number to flights to St. Maarten. I can double check, but we've never needed it for people my relatives have booked in their travel agency to anywhere in the Caribbean.
Granted, if he doesn't have a passport more than three weeks prior to the event, he's probably screwed anyways.
