God I hate Nintendo tutorials @_@
3 hours in.
-Every area has battle challenges (win a battle without getting hit, avoid 10 times etc). You get points which get you rare gear.
I think Nintendo is going all out on e-manuals. Check the game's icon on the 3DS home menu for the manual.![]()
YES! Thank you random store that released it today!
That card is the manual... Well I don't care. I love these games to death. If it's just as good as BIS, I'm happy!
At least this time it's not really painfully slow, but it's long and the game considers you never touched a videogame in your life.
Neat ideas during battles to prevent your total boredom though.
I cannot believe we're still waiting another month over here in the states.
I cannot believe we're still waiting another ~6 months for SMT IV here in Europe.
I cannot believe we were waiting another ~3 months for Fire Emblem here in Europe.
You US gamers don't have it that bad.
Swedish magazine LEVEL gave it a 9/10.
I didn't actually buy the magazine to read the entire review but in mentioning the standout positive they said that the soundtrack was phenomenal with almost no remixes in it, while the standout negative was the game being too easy. They also mentioned one of the more surprising aspects was a clever achievement system(?) that turns it into one of the more addicting portable games in recent history.
I'm torn on this. I actually grew to despise Partners in Time before putting it down and had a lot of gripes with Bowser's Inside Story as well, the platforming and pacing of those two games just didn't click for me despite rave reviews and plenty of love for the Paper Mario RPG's. Now we're here again, glowing reviews, etc. Interested to hear any impressions from folks coming from a similar place if they happen to pick this one up.
I love this series but so far I'm not feeling Dream Team Bros. I'm about 3 hours in and it just feels like a giant tutorial, you keep getting interrupted for the most asinine shit. The dream parts have been very boring so far, very unimaginative.
Every time I get to a new location I'm seeing all these opportunities for little secrets they could have hidden in the game that just aren't there: "Hey, there's an open window, maybe I can jump through and get to a balcony on the other side?" Nope, just an invisible wall. Stuff like that happens all the time, there's nothing there. In its defense, I'm not sure the even other games did this, but it feels so restrictive in everything it does so far.
It still a solid game, but I'm expecting a lot more out of it from here on out. Music's great though and I love the graphical style.
Partners in Time is the black sheep of the series. Don't let it keep you away from Bowser's Inside Story.I loved superstar saga on the GBA but could not get into PIT and that resulted in me not even picking up BIS. I'm on the fence about this game.

damnit, is it on the eshop yet? I need to buy my games digital nowadays since I moved to Brazil...
It'll be up around midnight.
Played 2 hours, game is good. The dream sequences are interesting. Dreamy luigis animations in battles are great, and they're a lot more interactive than previous games, which is fun.
I'm already ready to say the game is better than sticker star, so there is that. It plays exactly as you would expect, and quite a few of the tutorials are skippable, but then some others aren't for some reason. I guess starlow doesn't want to shut up.
thx! you convinced me to buy it now. I was getting worried because of everyone here...

game looks fine... but you know, I wouldn't mind this being the last M&L at least for a while.
super mario rpg, paper mario, m&l.
bout time for a 4th pillar mario rpg no?
But yeah, getting this with the 30bucks credit from the promo probably... but not sure if I want this digital.
Great combats, as good as expected, and in spite of having similar physics to Bowser's Inside Story, I think timing is a bit more strict. I have already seen new enemies with clever routines, and the first boss was simple but effective. Probably, Dream Team will have best battles in the series so far.

Nope. Zelda RPG next.
Party of four, choose from Goron, Zora, Deku, Gerudo, Kikwi, Korok, Mogma, Rito etc.
Not sure how you can have another pillar for a Mario RPG, since it would have be really different to stand out.
Properly won't happen since Nintendo consider Zelda as a RPG.
Did you enjoy bowsers inside story?
If you did, I see no reason you wouldn't enjoy Dream Team.
On the other hand, if you didn't like BiS you probably won't like Dream team.
