Well, it looks like Pacific Rim will beat Grown Ups 2 review wise. Grown Ups 2 is at a miraculous 0%. Here is a quote from the top review:

"In the first five minutes, a deer walks into the star's bedroom and urinates on his face. It's all downhill from there."

Sorry for being OT, but this gave me a good laugh.

According to @Fandango, PACIFIC RIM is selling more advanced tickets than WORLD WAR Z. Could it beat Z's $66M opening?

Could it be opening more than 66 million ???!!!!
That would be fantastic, and I have to think it would ensure a profit.

GDT deserves it.

No.

The hype machine causes geek movies to have higher advanced ticket sales.

I'm the only one in the theater now :/ . Kinda scary , oh well 10 min before movie starts

Saw it today. Fantastic movie, I can't remember last time I was to excited during the movie. Perfect robot action, audio and 3D, everything!
It'll we huge hit in Japan, no doubt.

This was never going to get universal critical acclaim, the core concept alone prevents that. I'm even surprised it got that many positive reviews.

I just want this movie to beat Grown Ups 2 this weekend. Come on pls.

10 people joined! Nerrrrdsss

I have a feeling this will be one of those movies beloved in a decade or so, when younger audiences are grown up and have nostalgia for it.

Wish I could see the movie today, but alas. :(

fark, wont be able to go today due to work it seems :(

weekends are annoyingly packed and moreso since we're on vacation. Might just well till Monday/Tuesday if I can hold the hype

Three more hours, the wait is becoming painful especially with fellow GAF posters chiming in with early impressions. I really want this movie to do well, we need more movies like this.

Want to see this for Rinko ;_;

Argh. Nearest Regal cinema doesn't actually exist. Next nearest one is like 50 miles away...at that distance, I could pay up to $20 or so on Ebay and end up ahead

pm me and if I get a poster tonight I'll request your shipping details (if you're in the states) and ship it off.

Well, I managed to buy tickets for private viewing in IMAX. And I wasn't disappointed. It is really good movie and it delivered what it was promising. Giant robots fighting with alien beasts. I and my friends really enjoyed it. So to all fans of giant robots, mecha and Godzilla I say this - you have to go and see it in the cinema. You won't be disappointed.

Saw this movie on Tuesday. It was like everything I have seen before and like nothing I've seen before. Sublime movie. It had its cliches but I ate that shit up because it was so well made and allowed me to suspend belief. Not many movies can do that for me so it just felt magical watching it. This movie was off the fucking hinges, everyone and their grandma should go see it.

Fuck this movie has a 3 showing for tomorrow but the 3D is at noon. Rahter go early but how is the 3D in this movie?

Grown Ups 2 is taking over most of the show times. God damm Adam Sandler.

Just ordered the other two figures in NECA's PR line today, Gypsy Danger and Knifehead. Really looking forward to them! I hope their quality matches Crimson Typhoon's.

Supposedly the 3d is really good. While it's a post-conversion the CGI shots were all composited in 3D from the get go.
