You missed the Sleeping Dogs flash sale. [On sale. Buy it]

So I just bought this, and am wondering if I should get a gamepad, or my mouse + keyboard is fine to play?

Console ports that aren't shooters tend to be better with a controller, especially with analog running and driving. Some people do ok with sleeping dogs with k/m but some complain that it doesn't control well that way.

Do you have a wireless 360 controller? You can get the wireless dongle for it used on Amazon for less than $15.

highly recommend it!

i was 9 hours in and lost my save a few months ago from a bad hard drive because it must store them in the game folder and not in my documents :/

great game, but not willing to do the first 9 hours again with everything else i need to play through. anyone convince me otherwise? i feel like i saw most of the good stuff.

yeah i do, can i just use any wireless 360 controller? maybe i'll get one of those wireless dongles in that case.

when was this a flash deal? It wasn't one when yesterday and then at 2am it changed games and its still not it right now at 8am.

how did I miss it? unless it happened like 3 flash sales ago?

right now its farming simulator, y's, batman, and garrys mod. before that it wasn't it.

when was this?

Oh, it was a community choice, not a flash sale.

Got it free on PS+. My PC could run it on high settings most likely though...
Is it really worth getting the PC version if I already have it?

Yeah any of the 360 wireless controllers work. In fact the dongle is pretty much the same as the controller interface of the 360 in that you can sync 4 controllers at the same time to the same 1 dongle.

It is on sale, -50% off.

Year of the Snake - $3.49
Wheels of Fury - $1.99
Zodiac Tournament - $2.49
Nightmare in North Point - $3.49

All of the costume packs are $0.99. And there's other stuff for $1.99.

Is that all the DLC that's worth it? There's so much and I kind of lost track on what to get. I've been meaning to catch up with the DLC stuff. The game itself was one of my favorites in recent memory.

I actually chose not to get it on Steam since I have it on PS+ already. Now I'm starting to think that maybe I should have got it. :/

Sleeping Dogs was the first Grand Theft Auto-style game I've ever finished. Don't get me wrong, I love GTA style games and have bought every GTA since Vice City on day one; including the PSP games but excluding Chinatown Wars. And I think a lot of them are better than Sleeping Dogs. But something hooked me in Sleeping Dogs which drove me to get one of my very few platinum trophies on PS3.

I highly recommend it, and I'd imagine the PC version is a lot better.

I'm sure I'll love GTA V more due to my love of the scale of the San Andreas map, but it remains to be seen whether I will complete the actual story. It's not a requirement for me to complete the game to enjoy open world games like that though.

I got it way back in the day for $7 when it was a price error. And free on PSN.

A man who never eats pork buns...

One thing I didn't miss was the XBL sale for Metal Gear Rising's DLC. I think it's still up through the week. Nab Jetstream Sam's side story, if nothing else. He's a lot of fun to play.

Damn. Guess I'll have to hope EC is right about the daily deal thing.

Damn, thanks so much! Now I can get Bladewolf!

Year of snake is about all you really need if you don't absolutely adore the game.

The costumes are surprisingly my favorite stuff though. And many have their own little unique fighting moves hidden in their movelist.

Yeah same.

I got the game during the pick, so I decided to look through the DLC and pick what looked interesting

So far I got

Year of the Snake - 3.49
Nightmare in North Point - 3.49
Zodiac Tournament - 2.49
Movie Masters Pack - .99
Monkey King Pack - .99
Drunken Fist Pack - .99
Screen Legends Pack - .99

Total: 13.43

Was kinda hoping for sub 10 for DLC. Just gonna keep these in my cart and hope it goes lower during a daily.

Is there anything else I'm missing worth getting though? Also how intrusive are the non-costume packs? Do they only open up at the end of the game or will I be playing through the entire fucking thing with zombies if I buy it now? lol

I picked it up during the flash sale, the game is great so far. I can't really say anything else except that the combat is difficult (in a good way) and the story is interesting.

I can finally find out why people always mention Dogeyes so much.

last year saints row or some other game went on sale on a flash but didnt get the DLC discounted

then it went on daily and it got the DLC discounted

those prices are the regular ones throughout the sales, no change during the flash <-- oops you covered this. Hopefully they'll go -75% once it hits daily.

That is what I'm hoping for.

But that's okay, because it's sure to be a daily deal in a day or two, and then you'll have a chance to right your wrong.

Alright, I never got to do what's happening in the .gif and I played through the entire game and all of the DLC. What's it from? D:

When it had a glitch sale for around $5 last summer I traded a game worth around $6 or $7 for it.

It has sat in my Steam inventory since that time.

I am an inventory hoarder, and I need help.

Got it during the flash sale, 3 hours in. This game is really pretty and the combat is great. Not far enough in to judge it otherwise but I like what I've seen so far.

I want it to go 75%. I'll wait for a daily/flash since the same thing happened with Saints Row last year.

Yup. Holding out for Year of the Snake for a bigger discount on a daily, otherwise I'll get it at the end of the sale. Maybe on Wheels of Fury.

Really enjoyed Sleepy Dogs.

I'm pretty sure I got Sleeping Dogs for 91% off on Steam when the price glitched a few months back. Still need to get to it, only played 2 hours.

People should've just paid full price for it. Better than anything else you played last year.

Remote bomb is an outfit bonus, outfit unlocked by completing the Year of the Snake DLC. Lets you stick remote C4 in any boot.
