This might come in handy.Why...? So basically we won't be getting a Cherno figure.

Is it just me, or did this movie have the BEST special effects so far? I was in awe the entire time. Nothing yanked me out of the illusion.![]()

Pacific Rim's story was never about one person either, it was about 3 things coming together: humanity as a whole to fend off an alien attack, giant mechs, giant monsters. They were never trying to set up an iconic figure like Hulk or Superman, or even Godzilla that was the end all, be all of the movie universe.
The theater where I live didn't get the movie. I guess I'll have to wait for the Blu-Ray.
It was really weird, there were about 2 regular showtimes between 7 and closing on a friday at my theater. Had to take an Imax 3D at 7:45 instead. I didn't understand why it didn't have more showtimes. Maybe too many films out there between Despicable, Grownups 2, and previous weeks offerings?
My review:
In a word? Awesome.
The entire movie was basically this less complicated, less fucked up version of Evangelion. Characters worked within the context of the movie. I wasn't expecting Oscar-worthy performances, but they were serviceable. Charlie Day was my personal standout because of how much of a contrast he was compared to the rest of the cast.
The Jaegers? Awesome. I liked the uniqueness of each one, and the mechanics of how they're piloted was really thought out. Personal favourite is Gispy Danger, because of how "heroic" it looks, compared to the others.
I only wish we got some more background on the characters, especially the other Jaeger pilots. I had the opportunity to read Tales From Year Zero (comic), so I got to know these characters before watching the movie, but it would've been nice to see it on screen.
I would love a sequel, either in movie or comic form. Del Toro pls.
And I'll do my own:

Ooh, ooh, can I have one?
Would literally pay anything to see the full cast of always sunny in jaegersPretty good movie, would like to see a sequel.
Needs charlie, mac and dennis in their own jaeger.
The movie probably could have had 15-20 minutes cut from it and it would be better off for it. Mostly the pilot stuff.

Well, I hope you enjoy it. I had great fun with it =)
Just saw it and WOW AMAZING MOVIE! so epic. I take everything i said back lol. i dunno how but they should have marketed better movie deserves to be a success.
And watching this movie really makes me want a proper live action Evangelion movie
Just got back from seeing it, god damn this movie is amazing! That part with the Sword! Like, holy fucking shit, everyone in the theater was cheering!
Man, I wish Canadians were as enthusiastic as I hear Americans are about movies.
The only people making any sort of noise in my theatre were from my group, and the place was almost full :/
People were cheering in both the screenings I went to!
I guess it's just us Torontonians who are dull, then. Hopefully my IMAX screening on Monday will be a more energetic experience.
But I'm in Toronto

I am Canadian, people may have cheered at that one part but I was the only one at the end who was clapping :/
I guess I'm just some sort of boredom magnet, then. The only time I've been part of an enthusiastic audience was during Transformers 3, and it was mostly made up of dumb 14-year-olds who cheered at the wrong places and wouldn't shut up if stuff wasn't exploding every five seconds. Not even the midnight screenings of The Avengers or TDKR that I attended elicited a single cheer from the audience :<
Ugh I know what you mean, when I saw Transformers 3 everyone was cheering once the Autobots came back to fight (it was so predictable). At least the part with thein Pacific Rim was unexpected, made me think of mecha anime. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if Del Toro watches anime.sword
