Interesting.
Guess I missed it, and I thought I was paying close attention. I don't think you ever see the final damage done to Cherno since it goes into the ocean, and I forget how much Typhoon was hit beyond the death of its pilots
.

Cherno: Face and helmet melted open, helmet crushed, arm ripped off, and once submerged the reactor core is crushed and blown up.

Typhoon: Doesn't take too much actual damage but the chest piece where the pilots are is punctured and ripped open by Otachi's(sp?) tail claw. I think you actually see one of the pilots get stabbed, too.

Saw it yesterday. Absoloutly fucking loved it. My inner child was jumping up and down with complete abandonment. The HK scene completely blew me into next week. I actually gave a shit about the characters too which is unusual for a big summer blockbuster. They were really endearing. Well done Guillermo.

Just got back from watching it in IMAX 3D. Loved it. I didn't find the acting or the story nearly as offensive as others have. GDT was aiming for a particular vibe and I think he nailed it. ID4 is a great comparison. Everything was over the top and I was fine with it. Will watch it again in 2D with my brother next week. I think he'll enjoy it too.

Gipsy figures are selling out. Grab one if you want one. They are $90 on Ebay now...
I don't think it's staying there. NECA is probably going to do a rerelease of a slightly better figure later on with the success of this line, and Gipsy was also the most common figure in the case.

Knifehead is the only one I can see staying at a high price, since a rerelease is less likely and it was packed with less figures to a case than Gipsy and Crimson.

On a separate note, NECA really fucked up. You can tell they cut a lot of costs for their Pacific Rim line compared to their previous movie lines; look at how many fucking accessories their Deacon figure had that it never even was near in the movie, while Gipsy Danger doesn't even come with its
signature sword
. They probably cut costs because of how poorly their Prometheus line sold. However, this line was clearly going to be a better seller than that line because Pacific Rim is a movie that's very toyetic and has a large younger audience watching.

I hope so, then again I'd be annoyed if they rereleased figures after I bought Crimson Typhoon :'(
You're probably safe there. Rereleases are most likely reserved for the main bots and monsters: Gipsy Danger, Striker Eureka, and possibly Otachi
(One with and one without outstretched wings, based on how cheapo NECA is being with this line)
.

I want to watch this so badly but my health doesn't really allow me to do much at the moment and apparently it's not being shown anywhere remotely close to me. Oh boy.

So good. One of those rare movies that exceeds my expectations. Saw it hours ago and I'm still thinking about it.

Seeing it again today.

Suck it robot haters.

yeah okay jesus fucking christ

I still cant understand how del godo got funding for this

widest smile, ever, during the whole thing, entire audience as well

felt like a movie made for me. I felt like I could look at the people beside me and give anyone a wink of like "THEY MADE THIS FOR US"

astonished

Hey. you're here. You were called out earlier in the thread. ;P

Btw, has it been mentioned yet how obviously toned down the GlaDOS voice for the interface system is in the actual film? I was kinda saddened, because while it was kinda on the nose in the trailers, at least there was a ton of personality in the voice. The version they used in the end sounded so... subdued. :(
Pretty sure you can blame fan backlash for that. After that first trailer people wouldn't shut up about it.
I do blame internet whiners for that. I dooooo. :(

Salsashark was the main one

you know what must be done, duckroll

im glad! I thought it was slightly more tweaked and it was great! :p

good work on that shit XiaNaphryz. Special effects were great in the sense that I could see and clearly understand everything that was going on, wich is a lot to say given some other recent 3D and fx heavy endeavours. Loved it all.

WB has three decent ones on their website, along with a rad backpack and a few hats with the Jaegers' logos on them. They only ship to the US, though.

I'd have bought all of them if they weren't stupid snapbacks... :'(
Thanks. Yeah, those are OK. Not too keen on the white Gipsy Danger, but the other designs are nice.

Redbubble has a SHITLOAD.

Too bad I can't find anything local though. I was looking for instant gratification today.

Anyway, does anyone have any experience with Redbubble? How's their cotton quality and thickness? I'm not a fan of thin cotton shirts.

Ooh, thanks for that link! I might pick up that Striker Eureka shirt and a Gipsy iPhone case.

The bulldog? Yeah, that's brilliant. So simple, but fitting.

Add: I was thinking of the "Jaegermaster" at first, but that's a bit silly.

Right now I'm thinking the "Kaiju Hunter", "P.P.D.C", or the "APOCALYPSE CANCELED".
