yeah get some 100% save file from some site and play the highest level...
Just tried doing it while playing the first level, after a failed attempt at the main menu. Still nothing. I'll have to fool around with it more later tonight.
Everything is great besides that, though. Thanks for the controller configuration. Works perfectly.
Hardest unlocked difficulty is easy as shit. I have played till the first boss battle, and barely even noticed I have a health bar until then.
Yeah, I know, I am [unfortunately] easy to jump to conclusions; but I will definitely play on longer; DMC is one of the few series I have played through. You've essentially played the intro. Your criticisms hold true to an extent, but I'd dig a little deeper into it before jumping to conclusions.
Link? Probably was using Royal Guard somewhere in there.I could never understand how one guy on youtube fires shotgun on a blitz (just when it is about to blow up) and gets instant SSS rank...

I kind of wanted to slap the shit out of Capcom for even putting out that abysmal DMC3 PC port. You take one of the greatest if not -the- greatest action game ever made, and you basically fuck it up the ass by releasing a borked version on PC-digital, which is really the only outlet that the game can get further leverage with in regards to new fans (other than the HD collection).
Capcom is so fucking stupid sometimes. It's like their hiring randoms off the street with nothing more than 'gaming-cred' and no college education and no basic understanding of how to protect/promote intellectual property.
So I'll repeat - DO NOT BUY THE PC PORT OF DMC3 UNLESS YOU ARE OKAY WITH MODDING IT AND FUCKING AROUND WITH IT TO GET IT TO WORK. GAME IS AWESOME, but the port is shit.
I also emailed Capcom/Steam to remove DMC3 from the steam store (I know it won't do anything, but whatever), it's absolute consumer mistrust to release A BROKEN product to market. Was this shit even certified?
I don't want people soiling their experience with DMC3 by playing a broken part, so sorry if I and others sound like a broken record.
Holy shit.
I played DMC4 on consoles back when it came out and just bought it on steam on impulse thanks to this thread and holy SHIT. It is like a whole new game, I am getting like 300 fps and the gameplay is so smooth and amazing. <3
Way worse crap has been released for games. DMC3 on PC is playable still.I also emailed Capcom/Steam to remove DMC3 from the steam store (I know it won't do anything, but whatever), it's absolute consumer mistrust to release A BROKEN product to market. Was this shit even certified?
That definitely looks like a glitch. He got to SSS before Blitz even exploded. This video is not the same I was looking for but the concept is the same, just before the blitz explodes the guy throws lucifer's rose and the style goes from S to SSS...

Dmc4 is gorgeous on pc.
For those new, max acting is the crutch backbone to neros combat. Think squalls gunblade from FF8 im sure dahbomb has a faq somewhere.
There's no written guide that can explain you the timing. It has to be a video guide, preferably recorded and uploaded in 60FPS which freeze frames the exact frame you need to press the button on. Chaser has some videos on Max Act but only shows the Max Act timing on a few moves.I would totally love a max-act timing guide...

Trying to figure out how to mod this game.
EUG.
What's giving you trouble?
Which game? Also, which mods? The instructions I found I just cannot figure it out.
If anyone can help that would be grand.

I'll send you a PM.
The position of the hand varies from move to move though. Not only that but EX moves have their own Max Act window as well.Depends on your TV I guess but ive never had a problem getting Max-act by revving when neros arm is a the the 2 o Clock postion, It usually register at 3 and swings through to 7.

I don't know of anyone who has even claimed to have mastered Max Act. I know people can do it on command for certain moves but during a combo while enemy stepping and doing Shuffles into instant air Calibur? Nah son you are not hitting every Max Act during all of that, way too execution heavy.

That wasn't directed at ToS. I was talking in general.
And why would I be mad? LOL...
I like DmC too but I love DMC (minus DMC2 of course).

Would the PS3 HD Collection DMC3 be better than a modded PC DMC3?

So true. I love that Max Act makes Nero have such a high skill ceiling, but man is it high. I stopped somewhere on DMD when the game first came out, and I'm blasting through the default harder difficulty, but trying to time even regular Act while charging blue rose and switching up combos/dodging is tough.
Having a lot of fun getting back into it, though.
Try to do it at the end of stinger and helm breaker (I don't remember the terms for nero), that's when you 're on the most offensive and the timing is also the most easiest (at the very end of animation)...
I also remember one guy MAX-revving the first slash of aerial rave at the end of every bloody palace floor. That gave him an instant Max-Act at the very start of next floor. He said it was very easy to instant rev it as well...
I didn't know that this game was on PC.Even DMC3 Special Edition is $4.99, its tempting.
