Lose Yourself by Eminem is the best Hip-Hop song of all time.

Because he converted to Islam.

Eminem hasn't dropped a good album in 13 years. Fuck Eminem.

Well he's a fucking idiot then cause pork tastes hella good.

I just realized that the J-Kwon "tipsy" comment was taken as a joke. No, that shit actually bumps in my acura way more than that boxing/football/mma intro hype music shit. If I wanna be inspired I'll just listen to the Rocky soundtrack.

Both good picks but if you really wanna go down that road, I'll take T.R.O.Y. over both of those.

its probably about a 50+way tie out of the golden era, but much respect to anybody name dropping "T.R.O.Y" cuz they know what they're talking about. that's definitely a worthy pick.

His palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms spaghetti
There's vomit on spaghetti already
Mom's spaghetti
He's nervous, but on the surface he looks calm spaghetti
To drop bombs, but he keeps on spaghetti

I'm definitely not of the opinion that Eminem is a bad rapper. He's easily top 5. I just don't think he's put out a really good album in a long time, and that's what I judge artists by most of the time. People do sorta forget that Eminem was rolling with Rawkus (El-P, Mos Def, Kweli, Wordsworth, etc.) back before his EP dropped. Guy is still respected by peers, regardless of how successful he later became.

It's pretty good but it's not even Eminem's best.

I'm not really an Em fan but Stan is pretty clearly the pinnacle of his career. There are tons of classic tracks better than Lose Yourself, though; it has a great beat but it's a fairly standard pump-yourself-up anthem that doesn't play on any of his real strengths as an emcee (vicious wordplay, excellent sense of character). It's very safe and radio friendly.

I'm not sure I have a specific vote for "best ever," but I'd be willing to back up anyone making an argument for C.R.E.A.M., Gimme the Loot, Shook Ones pt. 2, Jesus Walks, or Excursions. None of those are necessarily my favorite songs of all time, but they're definitely all super impactful hits.

Also I'm side-eying the hell out of anyone namedropping Hopsin here. Yeurgh.

Em is one of the nicest ever, but besides "Stan" and his mix of "Renegades" w/ Royce, alot of his music hasn't really stood the test of time for me. I wouldn't be caught dead bumping most of his stuff in my headphones or in the ride.

EDIT: oops, forgot about "Dead Wrong" w/ Biggie. Ok, that's it. I'm done!

I agree wholeheartedly. Y'all are just a bunch of haters. That song could pump up a redneck born-again Christian or a priest or something.

I still list to My Fault on the regular. One of the best songs ever.

Is the Hopsin thing a meme or something? People IRL keep telling me to listen to Hopsin but he seems to be a joke on GAF. (I have never listened to Hopsin)

Hopsin is for people for think that modern hip-hop consists only of the bullshit young money rappers. They think Hopsin is "saving" hip hop when he's really just preachy, cheesy, and unoriginal. He's stuck in his early-2000s eminem phase. It's like if OF was being managed by parents and D.A.R.E.

I listened to his recent Ill Mind track and I was like...ok thanks mom. All he does is fucking hate on other people and he doesn't even do it in a subtle/intelligent manner. It's starting to get obnoxious.

When someone tells me that Hopsin is one of the best or even THE best (I have heard this believe it or not) then I automatically know they know jackshit about hip hop music.

Hopsin might be the best rapper to ever grace this world. You can't deny the genius that is the Ill Mind of Hopsin. Eminem wished he could create such masterpieces.

8 Mile from the 8 Mile soundtrack is a better song than Lose Yourself:

Fucking phenomenal. That being said, it doesn't have that special something that LY has.

And lol at some people posting these random ass underground songs. Yeah, I'd like to see those songs reaching the type of worldwide appeal and universal praise of Love Yourself.

I can't really tell of hopsin fans are being serious because of how terrible dude is. Guy is still rocking weird contact lenses like he's desperate to get invited to the gathering of the juggalos.

Although I love Lose Yourself, I always thought this was a bit better: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lN8VWkdRpmw

An MC's worst dream, I make them tensed, they hate me
See me and shake like a chain-link fence
By the looks of 'em you would swear that Jaws was coming
By the screams of 'em you would swear I'm sawing someone

By the way they runnin', you would swear the law was coming
It's now or never, and tonight it's all or nothing
Momma, Jimmy keeps leaving on us, He said he'd be back
He pinky promised, I don't think he's honest

I'll be back baby, I just gotta beat this clock
Fuck this clock! Imma make them Eat this watch
Don't believe me Watch! Imma win this race
And Imma come back and rub my shit in your face, Bitch!

I found my niche, You gon' hear my voice
'Til you're SICK of it, you ain't gonna have a choice
If I gotta scream 'til I have half a lung
If I have half a chance, I'll grab it, Rabbit Run!
