3DS Streetpass Experiences

In NYC, started off day one with more than 3,000 troops in Warrior's Way, and yesterday ended with 15,000 troops. I have a feeling I'm going to continue to dominate this until I meet someone from Japan or people from some convention.

Got three tags today. One guy was from a country not registered on the 3ds. Games played were Project X Zone, Pokemon Black, and New Super Mario Bros 2.

Got a piece for Dillons Panel, just need two more.

Warriors Way is cool but I have no idea how Im going to get some of those tickets. Defeat an army twice my size? Uhh yeah, thats not going to happen

WHAT?

I've managed to defeat an army that's 1.5x my size several times now, so I assume defeating one twice my size works on the same principles.

I just basically make one team as small as possible and send them out to die, increasing the chances that my other two teams win.

UW-Madison Campus usually pick up about 3-4 per day... with 1-2 being new people. I actually wonder if I'm getting more because there are a lot of younger kids on campus during the summer.

Has anyone gotten a StreetPass from a Nintendo Zone 'relay' station yet in the UK? I would be interested to know how that venture is developing for Nintendo.

Last weekend my girlfriend got 105 street passes in two days while we were at a convention in northern California. She got every animal crossing puzzle piece, except one. >:/

Getting a case for my XL tomorrow. Soon I'll be taking my 3DS with me all the time and rack up streetpasses no sweat! I get at least one whenever I go out with it. Gonna get the DLC games, too.

Any opinions on the new Shooter game for street pass? Looks fun, also monster manor or whatever looks really good too

I'm not really shmup expert, so the shooter is actually quite challenging, for me at least. It felt really fledged out, may as well have released it on a cartridge.

The underground shopping malls at Taipei Main Station (where a bevy of video game, anime, and various other hobby shops reside) is a GOLD MINE for Street Passes. I can easily get ten after spending 20-30 minutes walking the length of the underground.

Surprisingly, I was just in New York City and barely tagged anyone except for when I was at Nintendo World. Time Square yields little-to-no Street Passes. Insane.

I'm starting to dislike the shooter game. It's pretty close to the spirit of social game-style paid assistance. I mean the levels are much more fun and also easier to finish when you have a lot of Miis. (Talking of especially the last few final levels.) So if you can't find enough StreetPasses, you have to pay for the rest of the gang with play coins.

I'm sure most of you appreciate the challenge, especially fans of the genre. Maybe you can finish the game right off the bat with only one Mii. But I don't like that the number of StreetPasses I get directly affects play.

I love that Campus! I was there for exchange last Fall! I wanna go back!!

(Mii Force is awesome)

I was at this cultural festival the other day and got 8 streetpasses, one of which was a repeat, no idea where I met the person first but it's relatively cool I passed them randomly again.

I had both my 3DSes in my car yesterday afternoon. My JP 3DS apparently picked up two Streetpasses while driving, but my NA 3DS got nothing. This seems to be the norm when I have both around - the JP 3DS always gets first pickings, regardless of the circumstances. Are the launch 3DSes just not as good at picking up Streetpasses?

Nah, I've seen it go both ways with my JP/NA combo. Sometimes the JP console gets the hit first, and then the passee is out of range before my NA console can pick it up, Other times it is the opposite.

do your choices in Warrior's way mean anything?

The choice of style at the beginning seems to be simply for aesthetics.

Haven't had many Streetpasses, living in a small town. Got a new one at Best Buy the other day, and a couple random Spotpass (I presume?) houses in Animal Crossing.

Took mine ti nephews birthday party at chuck e cheese last year got my first tag u can get a puzzle piece for the puzzle game and a warrior for find mii and the new games which i havent tried yet but im sure thier fun to play to alot eaiser getting puzzle pieces that u need with street pass tags then with play coins

In Belgium right now, and decided to check out this Japan culture con called Atsusacon in Antwerp.

There wasn't too much to do because it was really small but, on the plus side, I got around 48 Streetpasses. Took huge advantage of the Mii mini-games and got maybe 24 houses in New Leaf.

It was a good day.

Back from Holidays, cashed in my Mii queue of what was it, 3 (was in middle of nowhere so got 0 passes that), got my new puzzle piece of Xenoblade (I hardly pass anyone with these later puzzles so starting Dillon 2 or Mario and Luigi will be a while off) and now in town today, 1 pass. I've got like 10 days to try (hope?) and get a few more until play coins force me to open the plaza once again.

Some haphazard thoughts on things:

Maybe 1 tag isn't bad. I spend more coins in squad and quest and but for Garden it is optimal for growing plants and if they have lots of troops it is good for battle. As for mansion, that is my play coin drain anyway...a much better place than puzzle troll swap. Though when you get wrong colour and/or sized pieces its similar to throwing away your coins or your room potential. I basically had to mess up a load to find the stairs on floor 5 (so I could use the rest of my paid for queue, I wonder if hiring one at a time would work better here, that said I find it easier to plan with more) as the rest was reaching capacity.

There was just something I was thinking of for UK based people. A number of GAME stores have twitter accounts, is it worth a shot asking some of them to turn on the streetpass for their used 3DS or something...(I don't think they can for the official Nintendo demo units as those have the system menu disabled) then again policy might be to sell them formatted and fully charged.

Steetpass squad 2-1 impressions
Welcome to the machine really wasn't my favorite Ecco the Dolphin level

That one is doable with some of the castle upgrades (
see what troops they'll send out
) and some luck I've heard (I'm on like kingdom 3). Its anything involving monarchs from afar that I am dreading (as so far I have only passed one person with the games and it was only the gardening one at that; I could tell by their plant pot).

Speaking of which; what is the second option on the visitors in the garden game. I assume it is enabled for Miis with the game but I quit without checking.

The only events around here at the moment are white-supremacist rallies. Probably not fertile ground for streetpassing.

Yeah, if someone else has bought Garden you can see their... garden.

Whether or not WTTM was great, I cannot wait for 3D Ecco.
One of the best Megadrive games, and the 3D should look so good!

Is the streetpass for nintendo zone supposed to be activated for all current nintendo zones?

Goes live after a system update in a few weeks.

My house is covered by a Nintendo Zone (I'm connected to GAF by it right now!) so I'll probably get a Streetpass every time somebody passes my house.
The days of me walking with my 3DS may be over.....

My city has over 200,000 Nintendo Zone hotspots so it will either not work at all or be completely glorious.

I noticed that since the update the counter for streetpasses now goes above 99. Friend and I streetpassed the other day and I noticed it said it is our 100th time. Probably closer to 120 but it's nice that it isn't stuck at 99 anymore.

We had a great StreetPass MeetUp today, over thirty people.

I can't imagine how hard it's going to be to keep up with all four new games at conventions.

A good image I've borrowed from random a gamefaqs thread for Streetpass mansion (in case anyone wondered, the cats/dogs are level 1-3 so 1-3 pieces):

Doing a placement like that gives you tonnes of higher level chests. Just remember that its best to plan these things once the stairs have been found on a floor (you would get less chests and if the stairs were there it would stunt progress if you were waiting for the piece) and it might be better if you have a consistent passer by. Also I'm not sure how much loot found improves through the mansion (like is a gold chest on floor 5 worth the same as a bronze one on floor 15?).

I get 6 per day minimum in Sydney.
Carry it in my backpack on sleep mode and it's all good to go.

Finally got my first overseas person too! Got 2 Japanese peeps with the greetings in hiragana too. :D

Took the EL to downtown, walked around the loop and then some and only got two street pases.

I get more streetpaseses walking around Woodfield mall here in the suburbs.

I don't know where nerds, geeks, goths, gamers hang-out these days.

I mainly come into contact with professionals on my commute, cool/attractive people out shopping, and bros at the gym.

Nerds need to get out and about more so I can Streetpass them.

Just caught up on the Nintendo Direct mini and this is slightly old news.

I found the description of the streetpass relay interesting. It is the last person to visit the zone whose data you will get and then your data will replace theirs.

I can see a problem of doing a Nintendo Zone tour of the local area and running into the same person multiple times (which like real streetpassing means only 1 hit) or leaving that for the next person. I guess we have to hope Nintendo foresaw people will visit multiple zones for more hits.

I wonder what will happen if me and a friend pass a relay and we both have a 3DS on us?
Will it be a 'first-come-first-served' kind of deal?
I'm guessing we both wouldn't get a pass as only one of our Mii's can be exchanged...

It made more sense for everybody who passes the spot to accumulate and for you when passing to get them all. This one-in and one-out system seems flawed.

Just got a 3DS XL and turned this feature on during setup. Not even entirely sure how it works (you just leave your DS on and walk around with it?) but I live in a largish city so I'm hoping I get a few hits, at the very least.

Some people were expecting multiple "hits" to get stored up, but this makes sense to me. Otherwise it might get too easy.

Good point on the second part; I'd be impressed if they actually planned around that.

Got the streetpass dlc games, didn't expect to, but they all looked quite nice.

Will finally start getting into the streetpass aspects of the 3DS after having the hardware since launch.
