As someone who's been falsely accused of a (non-coital) sexual assault, this story gives me such mixed emotions.

There is no happy ending which erases those ten years.

I never understand how high profile black athletes tend to get stuck with ugly/ghetto ass chics in highschool. I mean damn you have the pick of the litter! It's different in college of course, had friends that went to UT when vince Young was there and he was pretty much a walking god on campus, could get any one he wanted just be looking at them out of the corner of his eye.

Heck yes. There's no silver lining to being accused of rape, imprisoned for years, and then having it be overturned.. But this is a start. It would be awesome if he actually makes an NFL team.

Can you go into detail. You can't leave this here and expect us not to want to know more.

Does anyone know the name of the lawyer that told him to plead guilty?

This actually happens a lot in rape and drug cases, and rarely leads to good things. I was always told by my parents to never to admit to anything I didn't do to a police officer/court

NCAA wrestling champ Stephen Neal became a three time Superbowl winner and starter for the New England Patriots, despite never playing college ball.

Carlton Haselrig, another NCAA wrestling champ, also made the NFL, and was Pro Bowler, despite never playing college football.

It can happen, but you have to be one heck of an athlete, and a quick study. Neal and Haselrig were also helped by being very large men who transitioned to offensive line positions, and some of their wrestling skills were able to be carried over.

The Courtroom Workgroup is the biggest fuck you to the poor in the justice system. When the free Defense Attorney isn't actually acting in his client's best interest, and instead in his own best interests based on rapport with his supposed "opponents" (being the prosecutors/judges), you end up with a lot of these poor people getting completely fucked with bad advice and decisions.

Eleven years after being wrongfully convicted of rape and kidnapping, Atlanta Falcons linebacker Brian Banks kneels to pray before taking the field for the first day of practice at training camp in his quest to make the team on Thursday, July 25, 2013, in Flowery Branch.

He went to Poly? Fuck him.

Woodrow Wilson High represent

Edit:

Not really. His highschool was my highschool's rival. In reality, I wish him all the luck in the world, even if he is a god damn Jackrabbit

Eleven years in prison is an unimaginable span of time, especially when you miss most of your 20s. For an athlete, I can only imagine the hurdles he'll have to go through to make up for it.

If anything, there are people out there rooting for him and he does have a back-up plan. Sounds like he's got a great attitude and if he can carry that appreciation for life with him then I think he'll be all right.

Now look at the woman, she has nothing but infamy. Very few people will go out of their way to do anything for her. She's set to have a very miserable life if she can't start turning things around.

Dude in this story just needs to get living. Live the best possible life possible.

Banks is on the field right now, its only preseason I hope he makes a good impression and makes the final roster for the Falcons.
