what jrpg are you playing right now ?

Shin Megami Tensei 4. The DLC basically ruined the game for me, so I'm just trying to fill the compendium while slowly making my way through the story.

I had finished Bravely Default a few weeks back, should get back into Dragon Quest VII, but kind of want to play my Vita, and get back into Final Fantasy VIII (a game I despise, but it has its quirks... and portability helps it)

Fire Emblem: Awakening. I recently finished SMTIII: Nocturne, and at about the same time I found out about that CN special with FE:A and SMTIV, both of which I own. So I thought I better get a move on it and start playing them. FE:A is not bad of a game.

FF7. Cloud is again my husbando of forever. This game is too beautiful.

It's nice to play this now that I'm older and understand the systems a bit more.

I picked up xenoblade again from CEX for thirty five pound. I did not really put much time into the game when i got it the first time, so hopefully i do this time. I not really put any serious time into a JRPG since the first grandia back in 1999 though, so hopefully xenoblade can hold my attention.

Add to that Denpa Men 1 & 2, 2 is a much better game but the first isn't too long and you can carry data over to Denpa Men 2

Currently playing through Shin Megami Tensei Devil Summoner Soul Hackers on 3DS

I once played the demo of denpa men 1 and didn't enjoy it that much, I'll give it a chance again.

I've just started Tales of Graces.. though with Tales of Xillia coming out in about a week I'm likely to forget all about graces if I don't finish it quickly

Picked up Shin Megami Tensei IV yesterday. Really loving the game and it's punishing challenge right now. It's really incredible on both a gameplay and aesthetic standpoint.

Just finished Star Ocean 4 International. I was reluctant to play it at first because of the awful story, but it kind of grew on me. The combat isn't too bad either.

I've started playing Nier and Resonance of Fate.

Dark Souls...
Man this game... so addicting because its so rewarding when you proceed. I'm at the gaping dragon right now... Dont want to think about whatBlighttown has to offer...

Been on The Last Story. I'm impressed there are still folks on the multiplayer.

It seems to be really popular (multiplay I mean). I have a question for you, are you playing it on Wii? If yes, does it look good or bad? Judging by quality of graphics not style I mean.

That's no short game, with postgame (if you play ToG f) took me ages to finish, but worth it.

Started Knights in the Nightmare this morning but just couldn't get my head around the system, it's the second Sting game i've insta-quit.

So I started Class of Heroes 2 instead. So far it's pretty bland, hopefully it picks up.

I just finished Grandia. Amazing game, sad the sequels will never live up to that sense of adventure.

I find very few games these days which manage to compete with the sense of unadulterated adventure that the original Grandia had. In fact, if anyone knows of any, please let me know. Maybe its one of those sad aspects of the gaming 'growing up', or whatever that's supposed to mean.

I also felt that the game handled Justin's character growth far more naturally than the vast majority of RPGs handle their protagonists'. Grandia II was a pale shadow, and suffered from a bad case of 'pessimistic bastard transformed through the power of love and friendship' syndrome.

OT: Thinking of picking up Resonance of Fate on the cheap, otherwise Disgaea 4 still. Eagerly awaiting Xillia. :)

Grandia was just such an adventure. Going into it just knowing its a RPG and not much else when I was younger was amazing. The soundtrack is also just amazing. In my top 5 for sure.

Just finished Fire Emblem Awakeng. Is the first game in few years that is over 20 hours long that I actually finished. Absolutely loved it! Thinking about playing it again actually. This game alone made buying the 3DS worth it.

Ni No Kuni, 20 hours in. Good game so far, it does nothing new but it does it pretty well. And there aren't really many classic rpgs like that on the PS3, so...

Blue Dragon.

Back at Marumaro's village after beating the boss in the Dead Fores. The Devee Dance was hilarious and gave me Infinite Undiscovery flashbacks.

The graphical design does not appeal to me. Character and enemy designs are the least good thing about the game. Enviroments aren't that great either. I did like the Watercave mostly because it had great music.

What keeps me going is what kept me going in Tales of Graces f: All the gameplay aspects.

The job system is great. I love it when games have it and it is well implemented. I think Blue Dragon does very well. So far, I haven't focused on single jobs. I switch jobs around like crazy. I didn't know you could unlock new jobs at first. I had a big grin on my face when it showed up. I wish a had chosen generalist for all characters, but I only unlocked that for Maro so far.

Battles are on the easy side, however, they are still enjoyable. Linking several encounters together adds a bit of a challenge, I guess. Monster battles are also an interesting idea. The way you encounter enemies on the world map is well made with back attacks and so on. Field abilities is also a nice touch. I can't forget to mention the charge bar, I think that's a great addition to a turn based game.

From a gameplay point of view, this feels like playing a Final Fantasy game without the ATB combat. I mean this in a good way.

Oh, and Maro is da man despite his annoying voice. Been running around with him as leader ever since he joined.

Platinumed Ni No Kuni

playing persona 3 FES while I wait for Xillia

when I was watching Gamecenter CX I saw this and found it amusing

too many...

I have JRPG ADD so I tend to play games for about a week at a time in a cycle. Right now in the rotation are:

Etrian Odyssey IV
P3P
Final Fantasy XIII-2

Playing Witch and the 100 knights. Am regretting buying this. Game isnt all that good. Have the LE version so not too keen on selling it back.

Its too bad that the team behind this title didnt go and do a bit more research on what made action rpgs good. Since they just went all over the place with this title.

Vita comes in tomorrow, so I am playing through FFVII for the billionth time. Apparently you can just transfer the save file from PS3 to PSV.

I wish I liked new RPG's as much as i like this one.

Fire Emblem Awakening - I'm at the Endgame now but just bullshittin' around trying to boost Renown by battling/recruiting all the Spotpass teams. So I'm doing a lot of Golden Gaffe to get some funds. I have SMTIV on deck so I'll probably go ahead and put FE to rest really soon.

Earthbound - I'm about to start this game any day now. I'm really excited to play it.

The Last Story - I played for about an hour and it seems not so much fun. I'll try again to seriously get into it really soon.

I was actually interested in that game, could you go into more detail as to why the game is bad?
