Wicks and his team ended up choosing a 4.7-inch 720p AMOLED display, with whites that look a little pink when examined closely and the same motion-blur problems that plague every similar panel. Compared to the the HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S4, both of which have 1080p screens, it’s a mid-range panel, but Wicks says it doesn’t matter. "We could go and make a higher-resolution screen," Wicks says, "but it would just suck battery and nobody would know the difference."

oh for fucks sake. i wasn't worried about a 720p panel, but if it's not even a good one... i'll wait for the new nexus

This is all fairly disappointing.

Unless the Google Play version is $200-$300, I see no reason why anyone would choose this phone over an HTC One or GS4.

Hope and hype fading

Beginning at the end of August, the 16GB model will retail for $199 with a two-year contract on AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, US Cellular and Verizon, while the 32GB flavor (an AT&T exclusive) will ship for $249.

giga is just trolling. 200 on-contract. It is priced in line with iPhone 5/GS4/HTC One...which is disappointing.
