I'm keeping my stupid cat girl, my mind is made up. =P
What? Why?
Why are people prioritizing those numbers over their the graphical settings? What do those numbers even mean? I presumed it was a measure of frame-rate, but do people really prefer to turn off shadows, reduce texture quality, and such in order to boost their frame-rate from 60+ to over 120+ or something?
I can only get 2700 on Standard Laptop settings. I've been testing to see what effects I can salvage while keeping my score over 2000 (the listed "standard" score). The game doesn't look that great at Standard settings. I have no idea why someone would put up with it if they can get better and still have a score that high.
Uh... if you're running at 5.5k you're not even hitting 60fps constantly.
Why is everyone getting on the roe bandwagon....Go back to your stupid cat girls.
What do those numbers correspond to then? I am not primarily a PC guy, I don't run a lot of benchmarks, and the benchmark itself doesn't tell me. So I don't know what those numbers are supposed to mean. Would you please inform me?
There are still shadows on Standard, I believe, although they aren't as detailed. What? Why?

Don't be mad that cat people are so superior to all the other races. It was destiny.
Shadows are probably still on Standard Desktop settings, but on Standard Laptop shadows are disabled for all players and NPCs other than your character. It is a little disconcerting watching the benchmark test and seeing the whole group of people riding on chocobos while only one person has a shadow. There are still shadows on Standard, I believe, although they aren't as detailed.
Personally, Standard looks great to me and, given that my PC is several years old and aside from FFXIV no other future PC game interests me, I really have no interest to upgrade for a single game. Sure, it might not look as impressive as High/Maximum, but at least it should run at a decent rate.
The game definitely doesn't look bad at Standard, at least to me. You just don't get a lot of the extra flourishes that come with the higher graphical settings [more detailed grass/shadows/character models, etc.].
How can they be superior if their tails clip through armor. Sheesh.
Ah, that might be. I never did try the Standard Laptop settings test, so that's a possibility.Shadows are probably still on Standard Desktop settings, but on Standard Laptop shadows are disabled for all players and NPCs other than your character. Yeah, I can understand that. Not having shadows in a persistent game like this would irk me. Actually, the next time I run the test I should see if the shadows under Standard apply to other characters as well as my own. If I have shadows and no one else does, that would bother me way too much. ~_~

Is everyone decided on their classes? I played CNJ on phase 3, it was ok but at the end it was getting kinda boring. Thing I liked was that my queue times were less than 5 secs

I'm starting out as an Arcanist just to try it out and also so Limsa Lominsa can be my starting area. And then when I get to level 15 I'll swap over to Conjurer, which is what I'll use as my primary job.Is everyone decided on their classes? I pre ordered this for PS3, am I suppose to get a code or something for early access?
Yes, Amazon sends a code almost on same day

Feels like every Highlander female is using that hairstyle.
Since I see a lot of people posting their characters... I think I'll join in on the fun.
Also tossing around the idea of going with this hairstyle.
Not sure if this is a common issue that was brought up already, but when I run the benchmark, I can pick a character, then clicking confirm just closes it, it is erroring somehow?
I got an i5 3570K, and a GTX 670.
I do have 2 monitors, but turning one off doesn't fix it.
No, that's what it supposed to do. After that you actually run the benchmark from the main benchmark menu.
How much early access do you get with preorder code?

That's pretty damn hot. However I would recommend (or maybe it's just the screenshot) working with a more darker base color with some highlights. Makes the light colors go and it just looks damn good.

We'll find out during the live letter on the 8thSooo when is phase 4?
