Looks like it's still:

LOL, nice pic

BTW, I remember seeing a URL to a spreadsheet, containing benchmark scores, and what hardware was used to generate them. I've been looking for that for about ten minutes now, does anybody have it on hand?

I was thinking more along the lines of Amazon or Best Buy who have presumably never done stuff like you're referring to. I mean I paid $80 for fucking 1.0 CE, we should get early access after that broke ass shell of a game.

I also got the 1.0 CE and we are getting the game and the CE for free. The reason I'm getting ARR's CE is for the physical items.

Also, every 1.0 player got about 14 months of free playtime as broke as it was.

I personally look at it as us having paid $80 to Beta test a game for 14 months, though I'm sure 98% of people quit after only 1 - 3 months.

I also quitted after 2 months, but Yoshida turned over the game and got me to come back. Although most people probably never looked back, but I did keep my eyes on it and came back when the game was playable and actually fun.

Is not a problem of "there's plenty of people playing in my timezone" rather than "will be people to prepare and schedule end game content on a timely basis?"

And when I mean people I mean people I and you can trust and hang out without elitism or other rather poisonous MMO behaviors.

That said Ultros GAF should be fine, if enough ppl sticks long enough.

That's true, but I believe there were quite some EU ppl during the P3 test that were in the Ultros GAF guild.

That's good to hear, it has been a concern of mine.

I'm hoping it works out. Had to win a friend over about it, the terms being if there's not enough activity in our timezone to enjoy the game then we'll just transfer when those open up. We could roll EU, but then we would probably end up playing with nobody else, cause we're weirdos.

The steam group mentions Ragnarok for EU... but that's legacy anyway.

What race are you playing as (or plan to play as) in FFXIV ARR?
Selection Votes
Elezen 13% 25
Hyur (mid) 22% 41
Hyur (high) 16% 30
Lalafell 15% 28
Miqo'te 29% 54
Roegadyn 6% 11

GAF poll from June I think, if you want to vote you can just hit "back".

Ragnarok just seems to be where some Legacy EU Gaffers are going. Ultros will probably be the main gathering point for new players. I've updated the Steam group listing accordingly.
I guess updating to 'LS only' would be a safe bet. We'll probably be closer in numbers and philosophy to the Durandal LS.
Anyway, new players can make characters on Legacy servers just fine, so I don't really understand why Ragnarok and Durandal would both be listed as Legacy while Sargatanas would be listed as Legacy/New Players. That's misleading in my opinion.

Edit: I mean 'misleading' from a FAQ standpoint. I have absolutely no desire to spark up that conversation yet again, so I won't argue.

Neither the JP nor the EU guys seem to even be recruiting new players.

The JP leader guy already said he's only having an LS and the FC he's going to isn't allowing anyone who doesn't speak Japanese in.

Are the EU guys recruiting new players? If so, I'll change the listing accordingly.

The new servers block legacy characters and whatever baggage with them. Even calling the new servers a fresh start one is a little deceptive, as fresh starts are not unique to them.

The "EU guys" are ebil -the guy you are talking to- and myself, and I just said some posts above that the Ls will be for old and new players alike.

For starters I'm making the LS because there's 8-10 people that are starting to play (some friends and some of their friends) and I'll be setting up the LS to help them and create a community, and also decide to invite anyone that played on Ragnarok, or had plans to start in the server, to join the LS and if we have a group at level 50 willing to do endgame, then endgame will be done.

Yeah looks like that was the old data, here is the new one, sorry for that

Thanks to arthmgck

Thanks for sharing this. I was very curious as to what the results would look like without all the poll spamming.

I'm actually kind of surprised at how balanced the class/job choices are. Obviously it's only about 8600 people but still nice to see. Same with crafting, gathering and grand companies. Looks like this game should be nice and diverse across the board.

The problem here isn't with my wording. The term "Fresh Start" has been used by people in the beta forums and on other places people talk about FFXIV like Reddit and 4chan to describe the new servers and I merely followed that convention. Sorry that you disagree with the term everyone else has been using and which I appropriated without even a second thought to it's use.

I've made the server listings with the intent of letting Gaffers know where other Gaffers are. There is no hidden agenda here. The Steam group is meant to be a service to GAF.

Further note for the JP and EU folks: I do not have the power to defeat timezones and historically GAF EU guilds in particular have not been of any decent size nor have they survived very long. It is up to the EU folks if they wish to play with the largest population of Gaffers on Ultros or Sargatanas or with the smaller population of Gaffers on the other servers. I'm not trying to force anyone to go anywhere. The Steam group listing will be updated according to the wishes of Khrno but beyond that I'm not going to be sucked into drama over servers. The listings are for information and nothing more.
