Every Xbox One Includes a Chat Headset!! + Xbox One Day One Unboxing

- MS announce policies
- People complain
- MS says "FU, wanna off-line, go buy xbox 360"
- MS gets spanked by massively negative press
- MS reverses the ridiculous decision

- LOL Backpedaling! LOL 180! i still dont trust you!

FTFY.
Yes, lol backpedaling and yes, MS I won't buy from you so that you learn a lesson.

PS
Comparing policies to rape is ridiculous, but so is saying that if decision was reversed, no damage was done.

LOL, Now is that a goat? I thought it was

did I hear him say something about Kinect receiving IR signals? So that means I don't have to be pointing directly at the system itself in order to use my remote? Cool.

Started up the video on engadget and as soon as I saw the headset in the box I went what....,came to neogaf and this topic is allready up.Anyway I hope this isn't just limited to the day one edition and this is definitely a good move .Atleast that's one more drawback accounted for for a lot of folks.

Edit: Saw the rest of the video and it seems it is included in regular boxes too.Inline voice control is awesome too.

If a cheap headset makes a console "much more interesting" than it was before, then your interest must have been at rock bottom?
It isn't the headset itself, but what the inclusion of it in the box means for online game. You are completely missing the point if you think people are excited about the headset itself. It is just like how nobody actually gives a shit about the cheap little PoS headset that Sony is including, but rather that it means Sony isn't going to have another generation of online gaming with little to no voice chat in games.

H said in the video both Day One and standard editions. Rest easy.

"Xbox One system software uses a significant amount of storage."

I wonder how much we'll have for actual games - 450 GB? 400 GB? Less...?

The more interesting thing is the note about the impulse triggers. Are they not a part of certification?

do you applaud a person for coming forward and confessing to murder/rape too?
Aeterno's Law: no discussion on video games in which a negative policy, decision, or statement is a topic if conversation can be successfully completed without someone using a sexual assault analogy and ruining everything.

Like Godwin's, but so much worse and more sad. What a fucking embarrassment of a post.

Still waiting on the last 180 that would get me to purchase the console, drop dat Kinect requirement.

That is a big one for me as well. Though I might eventually reconsider picking one up if their exclusive lineup proves to be worthwhile (right now I have zero interest in their known exclusives).

Why does it seem like MS is further ahead with this stuff than Sony? We have way more information about new XB1 XBL features, more details about how their system works, we already have marketing videos for accessories, and now we even have an unboxing.

I know, it's embarrassing how much MS keeps reversing their policies, but it still seems as though we know way more about the console than the PS4.

Likewise with the original Sixaxis gyroscope controls with PS3. Most developers did not bother to investigate those features either. So there will be some games that employ the impulse triggers, some don't.

I bet it will be the same approach with PS4's fine-tuned rumble features and with its touch pad.

....... I'm sure you are the only one.

Stupid question, but how long is the cord for the Kinect? I hope it's something like 10 feet, that would be enough for me.

I'm not going to purchase the Xbox One until a long ways down the road(hoping for kinectless sku), but this video makes me want one at launch. It's hard to resist the new hardware and fine packaging.

*Breathes slowly to calm self*

Gotta say Xbox One is looking better and better every day. Still sticking with my PS4 pre-order through. If they drop Kinect or drop the price, it would make me seriously consider switching my pre order.

I'll get interested when they don't force Kinect, and it hits the 200 mark. Till then count me out, no matter what small thing they decide to reverse.

If Sony can profit from MS's mess, why shouldn't MS be able to, too?

This so much. I feel like the hype for MS is rising only because they are fixing their mistakes, while Sony's is staying pat. It's quite comical.

I don't see how some people are complaining though. Every 180 they pull ends up being a value increase for the consumer.

No. There are cables out there that don't support the necessary bandwidth.

Please, those cables don't even support 1080p. High speed HDMI cables are standard. This is just Microsoft/Nelson acting like the snake oil salesmen dicks they are.

No one told me that it was Opposite Day.

Are you being serious? Sony confirmed having a headset and HDMI cable months ago...and we already know internet is not required.

I'm almost certain that 65% of people who plan on buying the console don't even realize that Kinect is required for the console to function and that internet is required to activate the console.
