Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | August 2013 | Divekicks & Dragons

I'm still leary of the slowdown, especially now that I've seen that video... (Dragon's Crown). I suppose it kind of makes it like an old school game, since those ended up having slowdown at times when there was too much going on... I just expect more from a $40 purchase now, I guess? :\

I almost never notice it.

Yeah, the slowdown was this big thing for message board people but then when you actually get the game for yourself it hardly happens.

Well if you've played the game maybe you can add some context. Nevermind I guess...

It is just the art style I guess. As to story significance of the art style, there is none that I have seen so far...(~6 hours in).

I know it kind of comes across as "immature", but honestly I don't even notice the excessive character designs while playing. I just beat shit up and collect that addicting loot.

Hope that helps.

Blah, last post day of the week. Still no Dragon's Crown. D:
I know how you feel :(

Why is everyone raving about Dragon's Crown? Is it really good? I just googled it and this lady came up:

video_994.jpg

WTF??

Where did you live till today? This is dragon's crown

And the video doesn't show the rpg elements, the cooking etc

Ah okay. Pretty dungeon crawled out at the moment. Think I will wait for Killzone and shoot some aliens for a while...

I'm in target right now and they took out their Vita floor model display. Kinda weird, I live in a crappy neighborhood though so I wouldn't, from prior events, doubt someone tried stealing it.

It was cross buy right? I guess the Vita number means that someone purchased/downloaded it there first.

I got it free on PS+

No one reported this? Retro city rampage sold more on vita than on ps3, especially in eu.

"Releasing on both PS3 & PS Vita is a good idea: Retro City Rampage PSN sales: US: 56%[Vita] / 44%[PS3], EU: 74%[Vita] / 26%[PS3]"

Not surprising considering Vita is much more software starving, and this kind of game is more attractive on handhelds.

I would be okay with the Vita becoming a port machine of indie games. Let's face it, the thing probably will never really take off in the West, but if Sony can keep the installed base loyal and avid enough, there's money to be made by indie devs. Plenty of good indie games + a few PS2 ports + the eventual high profile first party game would be enough to keep me playing. I have iOS and other consoles to keep me busy too, so it's not like I'm without things to play anyway.

Much more surprising if you consider the disparity of the installed base though.

I've had AC3 Liberation since Christmas but am only just playing through it properly now, I wanted to leave some time between it and AC3 which I found to be just a boring disappointment. It is a shame that we aren't getting another Vita AC title currently, Liberation seems to be a good start to what could have been a spin off series, it is iffy in place, frame rate needs work, and the sound just really isn't up to par, but a good start none the less, and apparently Ubisoft were happy with sales.

Wasnt there a leak for a new Vita AC on Gamestop.com? Assassins Creed: Rising Phoenix?

So in the coming months are the only big games coming out going to be Killzone and Tearaway? That's kinda depressing tbh.

Well there's Rayman and Batman as well,Killzone is the only big one though.

Ys? Dragon Ball Z? Toukiden?

Yeah the Vita doesnt have alot of big name games with their names in lights but I think alot of people undermine the quality of the library to extent.

A majority of Vita games are fully solid performance wise and mechanically. They still hold themselves up on their own feet. They may not be "big" games but they are still incredibly fun and well made. I see alot of people go through mental gymnastics to undermine the quality of whats been released on Vita up to date. (Not you both, just saying)

Ok I just downloaded the demo of Mod Nation Racers Road Trip and I'm floored. It looks incredible! I'd go so far as to say it looks better (or at least crisper) than LBP Karting on PS3. Which also makes me wonder why that game hasn't come to Vita.

No AC Vita? Shame, Liberation showed a bunch of potential, I'm sure they would have vastly improved at least the IQ and overall performance while still providing the gameplay that fell in line with the console versions.

Well, at least I got the fucking sexy Crystal White Vita out of it.

I think Ubisoft is making Watchdogs for Vita...I think

Watchdogs could be really awesome on Vita with some clever touch screen mechanics.

I also think I'm one of the few people who loved AC3: Liberation, so I'm looking forward to the next AC game on the Vita. I feel like it will do what AC2 did for AC1: expand on the mechanics and grow it out, now that the hard work of getting a proper Assassin's Creed game up and running on the Vita is done.

Actually, I'd be happy with a "Ezio Trilogy" port to Vita. I never played Revelations, but I loved AC2 and Brotherhood. But I'd much rather have an all new adventure, or another one with Aveline.

I know,I play Vita games myself.

The ONLY reason I bought this bundle. I've never been a fan of the AC games but it was the only way I could get a white one.

I had no complaints about Liberation. To me Liberation was the shit. I showed my classmates that game every chance I could. I remember being in the student lounge in between classes and dudes would be playing games on their phones, I would just hand them my Vita and say check it out lol. One guy was having so much fun it seemed like he didnt wanna give it back lol. Im sure a few of those dudes I let play went and got one.

Source? I want to believe.. :(

Lol no source I wish hehe, I was just blindly hoping because of that footage they showed which led me to believe it was some sort of mobile version. Wishful thinking. Someone asked the guy on twitter about a mobile version and he winked so I dont know could mean anything.
