Already mentioned in the thread, regarding the podcast:

YES YES YES We are posting AMAZING podcasts for the FINAL EIGHT!!!

BB podcasts should be on itunes by Tuesday or Wednesday after each show airs

I've always loved Hank.

The anger he expressed about everyone Walt has killed...he's the true hero of the story.

Between that and how he so calmly brushed off Mike to Jesse, he's scarier now than he ever has been...and that end quote.

Is there enough evidence to convict Walt directly?
I mean Hank just took the book out of the Walt's house.

The tracking device can we assume that is was placed when he went to see Jesse about giving away the money.

This is what I find somewhat weird. From the flash forward this episode it seems as though people know Walter White is Heisenberg. If teenage skaters tagged his own house then that means it hit the news. However, from the previous flash forward we see him with a new identity. If Walt hit the news then someone in that diner would of known he was Walter White; I mean it's not like people in ABQ are as dumb as those in the Daily Planet. They would of could seen the resemblance, but no one recognized him.
Wasn't it implied that the diner was in New Hampshire or a different state?

While I do agree that the show shows too much of Jesse spacing out and making those faces where Aaron Paul is probably rushing all the blood he can to his face, it's totally in character. However in this episode it sorta bothered me only in the Badger/Skinny Pete Star Trek talk scene. I liked the scene where he gave the hobo money and started throwing the money around. It's when we see Jesse do something with these feelings the most interesting, not when he's staring into space.
Totally agree.

Stop using spoiler tags unless you are actually posting spoilers. And label them properly. Fuck.

Great episode, at least this show seems like it will end well unlike dexter.

Edit: this is exactly what I'm talking about

Him not looking anyone in the eye and barely speaking is him at his best? I disagree.

I like Jesse when he has confidence, such as when he went to Mexico.

Even when some viewers don't like it, it's still loyal to the character. Jesse is taking on the guilt that almost everyone else chooses to suppress or compartmentalize.

Totally forget to hide potentially incriminating book in the house; suddenly notice it's missing during an off-chance moment with a random glance.

My only gripe with an otherwise fantastic mid-season opener.

His character is so annoying when he goes through these phases.

Jesse's about to hit the nadir here; it's all coming to a head. If you found depressed Jesse to be annoying before, take solace in the notion that shit's about to really go down.

With Walt's cancer symptoms returning, Hank finding out about Walt, Lydia and Declan being antagonized by Walt, and Jesse's downward spiral into highly reckless behavior, the end result is not going to be pretty. It's a bad chemical brew.

I'm not calling it out of character. I personally just an not a fan of the character when he is in an emotional dumpster. I get it, I just don't like it.

Also, I have to say-- the whole series, no matter what Walt has done, he has always looked like the nerdy, clumsy brother-in-law. Hank was always the brash one.

But that end scene was such an amazing reversal. To see Walt loom over Hank with just his words...

Jesse was not emo, Jesse was pissed and trying to work out his next step. Am I the only one that picked up on that when Walt was trying to convince him that he didn't kill Mike? It seemed pretty obvious he didn't believe Walt.

Man, that last scene was so intense, and they apex with Walt subtlety threatening Hank. Damn!

Sure, but my patience is somewhat low these days with all of the great television that's on or has aired recently. No reason to sit around waiting for something to get good when there are so many other options.

The problem is when you have watched most of it.

Holy fucking shit. Just watched it holy fucking shit. That is how you kick it off. Fuck yeah. No other way to do it. They got straight to the fucking point too. So fucking good.

Walt holy shit you dirty fuck. All I know Jesse is the main key to the puzzle for Hank. Jesse will turn him in a second and that ricin is totally for Hank or Jesse. Everyone is fucked if you think about it too. Saul and everyone. I am ready. For the final ride.

Can people not put spoiler on tags that shit that aired. I am scared to highlight shit now.

Maybe his ego had him believe that nothing would of happen because you know, he's the great "Heisenberg."

Maybe, but it isn't even like he threatened Lydia or anything. He just basically ignored her. As it stands now all we know is he reneged on his deal and quit. Hopefully it'll be explained more later. There should've been an episode to flesh out the month that he's been out.

He has the least amount to lose, which is why I think he is most vulnerable to turning state's evidence. Remember in the finale of Season 3 he was the most vocal in his desire to see Walt go to the cops/DEA to protect them both. (He says something like, "Witness protection is a good deal".)

I could see him turning state's as a penance for his crimes and to absolve himself of guilt.

Last one for tonight. I'll do some updates tomorrow. Should be a few more reviews and some analysis up.

Lydia's gonna be the catalyst for everything going to hell. That's pretty certain. (Unless Vince Gilligan wants us to think that.)
Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. Either Lydia or Declan, but leaning towards Lydia right now based on, ahem, recent developments (and I'm not just talking about today's episode.)

This guy who's literally fucking broken from a year of bloody tragedy is just sooo annoying. Where does he get off feeling remorse? Why can't he be a nice sociopath like Walt?
Boohoo, poor Jesse. He's such a victim ;_;

Hero as in he does good things but seemingly for the wrong reasons. I mean he supposedly busts meth dealers because it's good for society, it helps addicts. Yet he talks to every addict like a piece of shit. So Hank, are you in it to help the addicts or to demean them? In my opinion he has a good heart overall, but doesn't take his job with the passion that he should. Then again, being that he's a DEA agent, I'm not surprised.

That was amazing. I fucking loved the ending line: "If you don't know you're talking to, then you'd better tread lightly". Oh my goodness.

So, Jesse will rot in the slammer? Didn't Gilligan want justice for the crimes? Jail would be the hardest punishment for Jesse, worse than death.

Seeing the home in the flashforward made me really depressed about Junior.

How many seasons has it been since Hank demeaned an addict?

I agree it's the best Jesse, but Jesse realistically wouldn't be the most confident person right now.

If Jesse was anything else then this we would be bitching. This is the character of Jesse. He is emotional he knows Walt is fucking lying. Then he is gonna think what else is he lying about it.

BINGO. Confident or cornered Jesse is best Jesse.

Or, as I like to put it, entertaining Jesse.

Is that what you guys want to see? It makes no sense to me. Jesse was never cut out for this. This is his destiny, and now he will spiral into the ground. That money getting tossed around will come back next episode.

I found the Jesse stuff most relatable. If you were ever caught up in something like this where you cooked meth and got out with a couple million, could you really leave the past behind? Would you ever think you'd kill a kid or two, or be responsible for their deaths? And if you walk out of all that, would it really be worth it? It would eat you up completely.

I definitely think Jesse is gonna team up with Hank.

I have a feeling he will, myself. Jesse needs redemption. That would be his best chance.

I'm guessing season 2 or 3 was the last time.

That's what I thought. He generally hasn't even been rude to anyone who didn't already have it coming since prior to his accident either. Hank has grown into a hero gradually as Walt has become a villian. I fucking hated Hank in S1.

Dean Norris and Bryan Cranston doing work in that last scene. Tremendous stuff.

hahaha

already watching or saw most of them :(
The problem is when you have watched most of it.
Even though I watch a...um...healthy amount of TV, I can easily list 10-15 shows that I'd like to check out when I have some time. With so many new players getting into original content, I feel like we have more options than ever before. On top of that, there are a number of classics that I haven't watched, so I'm slowly working through those. Your situation might be different if you've been watching a lot more over the years.
