Can't believe I didn't notice this earlier, Hank is standing in the light and Walt in the dark

I can't believe I didn't notice this earlier but look at the spanners, they're bigger on Hank's side and get smaller the closer to Walt they get. The juxtaposition against Hank and Walt's actual heights shows that while Walt may be the taller one, Hank will always be the bigger man.

And yet when they cut to Walt's medium shot, he looks taller.

I could literally do this all day. That's how well crafted this show is.

Walt's "side" takes up much more of the frame. It gives the impression that Hank is backed into a corner. I would be very surprised if we don't see a similar shot with Walt having much less space as Hank gets the upper hand.

All the callbacks (oranges, toy car, Dog Pound restaurant, etc) really do a great job of selling the clockwork universe aspect of the show that one dude wrote about last week.

It's just, you know, how things are here. Echoes.

Rewatching the end scene, it's almost as if Walt is scared of himself when he's telling Hank to tread lightly. That he's realised what he might have to do.

Well you're missing a significant aspect of it, after all, when you think of a spanner, what does it remind you of? Obviously, a penis. The spanner represent Walt and Hank's masculinity and virulity, as well and their penises and libido. Clearly Hank has the larger penis of the two.

Yeah, I agree, fuck Jane.

Also, the only way I'm satisfied with Walt getting killed is if it's by Jesse's hands. He was a big reason for Heisenberg being brought into the world, he needs to be the catalyst for him being taken out. #TeamWalt

Also, the flash forward in this episode was wonderfully done, I mean, absolutely chilling. Future-Walt is such an enigma-like character. We've seen him in only two scenes and yet his character is so rich in terms of perspective. It seems that he isn't quite Walt, but he isn't quite Heisenberg either. Future Walt seems like an empty shell of a man, neither cold and calculating nor warm and goofy. It's scary, vividly creepy, and it just makes me want to get to that timeline so much.

I take it as pretty evident that this is *defeated* Walt, who is only cleaning up some piece of business. He's done. He's beaten. This is not a Walt who is going to win, he's resigned.

Very good point.

This show man.

Awesome show.

Lydia, Lydia, Lydia. My guess is that she'll turn to Jessie and convince him to cook for her, and then reveal to him that Mike is dead and how Walt all but denied it. That would definitely sour the relationship between Walt and Jess.

I'm pretty sure it wouldn't do much really. From Jesse's facial expression, its pretty damn obvious that he knows walt lied to his face and that mike is dead. Lydia confirming it would get him pissed off even more sure, but it wouldn't be that big of a revelation.

Do you believe that Jesse 'believes' Walt at this stage?

He only agreed to what Walt said as Walt's figure is now fearsome and intimidating. Everyone is now afraid badly of Walt.

My best guess is, near the end, Jesse will find out that Walt was behind the Lily Of The Valley poison and how he manipulated him, hence leading Jesse to kill Walt.

Regarding Emo Jesse: He's not fun to watch, but he's 100% believable and Aaron Paul is maybe even a better actor than Cranston.

Funny, when the show started I didn't much like Hank or Skyler and I find them both fascinating now. I think she's been completely consumed. Despite telling Lydia to back off, I think she's fully in the thing with Walt now. Her ending is inevitable and will be tragic.

If the show starts off a month later, and we see the foreshadowed scene in the beginning with Walt and a lot of hair, then the ending could possibly be 6-8 months later?

I woke up at 6am UK time. Watched Blood Money.

Went to work, got home and now grabbing some food. Considered watching last nights Dexter and....nah I'm going to watch Blood Money again.

Seven more episodes. Gilligan is God like. Whatever he does next good lord I'm there.

Reading most of these reviews (thanks for posting them as ever dude), two things strike me:

- Pretty much a clean sweep across the board

and

- Good GOD most of these journalists seem to not know the difference between a 'review' and pretty much verbatim just saying what happened for 25 paragraphs and just adding a grade at the bottom.

Sounds reasonable. Do you think Lydia would go to Jessie, though, or do you think she's going to resort to extreme measures without considering the alternatives? He's the only other guy that she can go to at this point.

The gun in the trunk is a fake out. Walt's not going to have a shootout with anyone. He's going to take the gun somewhere peaceful to fire off some rounds just for fun before he takes the ricin to off himself. That's my prediction and I'm sticking with it!

Jessie doesn't seem to want to do anything with it anymore. I doubt he would cook at this point.

A) I didn't read any spoilers
B) If you're talking about what I think you're talking about, everything but the premiere was discounted
C) Quote someone if you're talking about them or everyone assumes you're talking about them

I really wasn't referring to anyone in particular, I'd just read in this very thread that everything but the finale had been spoiled. I'm glad that apparently is not true, after some horrific experiences in the Game of Thrones threads, it's nice to not have to worry about all these apparent clairvoyants.

I take it as pretty evident that this is *defeated* Walt, who is only cleaning up some piece of business. He's done. He's beaten. This is not a Walt who is going to win, he's resigned.

What's weird is that obviously everyone knows about what he's done yet he's not in jail?

Gliding Over All. makes so much more sense now. Notice the quick shot of Walt getting a scan taken. It's right after Skyler shows him the storage unit filled with cash and right before he tries to make amends with Jesse and informs Skyler he's out.

Naturally, we see Walt's drained fatigued demeanor in the Crystal Blue Persuasion montage as his growing discontent with the monotony & daily grind of cooking, and while that may have been a factor, it was mostly the cancer wearing and him down from the inside.

I think it's perfect; as quickly as cancer launched him into the meth business it yanked him out.

Wait, wtf happened? If there are spoilers that have leaked I'm most def out of this thread for the remainder of the season.

It'll be like how it is in the GoT No Book Spoilers thread. People coming in and and dropping speculation pretending to not have read the book.

I don't think there are any real spoilers. Didn't the only "leak" get debunked?

I post most of them for the sake of completeness, but you need to figure out who writes the columns worth reading and pick and choose according to your preferences. There's some good analysis in there, but a lot of them do just serve as 'recaps' rather than 'reviews'.
