Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | August 2013 | Divekicks & Dragons

in the official "sale" thread - people are saying its US only btw... if true sorry EU :(
It's okay. The whole sale is obviously a lie because everyone knows the Vita has no games. Plus, if you read the ps blog, you know US is always worse than EU. I can't believe they think we are that gullible.

Oh yeah. Buy Totori Plus

For fuck's sake they even put it in their promo pic.

I wonder if WayForward will respond to this.

I found some new and cool info about Freedom Wars. Here is the link.
I really hope it is the last attempt for making a Monster Hunter killer, seriously. The game looks nice, but the Vita has / is going to have: Ragnarok Odyssey, Soul Sacrifice, Toukiden, God Eater and Freedom Wars. I seriously want more RPGs and less hunting games.
____

Is there any release date un EU for Ys Celceta and Muramasa Rebirth?
Yeah i hope for less hunting games too, but to be honest i have the feeling that all those games are devaluing monster hunter, i mean monster hunter is still considered the best(by its fans?) and selling a lot, but imo people is starting to understand that can be more than monster hunter alone.
Sony's revenge?

Not sure if posted yet. Seems like Vita might actually have a decent presence at Gamescom.

Let's hope for something big!

Vita gets it's first 2015 title, Project Phoenix JRPG "90%" coming to Vita:

Looking at the talent there, I'm pretty hyped about this.
That's a long wait lol.

I hope it succeeds, i would like to see more pc games on vita.

That's the biggest problem with the Vita not getting Monster Hunter: every other publisher sees it as an opportunity to fill the void left by Capcom, so they all flood the platform with their "Monster Hunter killers", instead of doing some actual variety.

End result: more than half of the major Japanese Vita games are shitty MH clones.

can someone explain what the problem is? i'm not sure what i'm supposed to be seeing. not trying to be rude; i really don't know what you guys are talking about.

Glad I waited on New Little Kings Story (again). At $9.79, no more waiting. It will be mine.

Id honestly watch some vids of it first

I bought when it was on sale for 20 and regret it. Fairly boring and a bit lifeless. Framerate does get as bad as everyone says

Silent Hill Book of Memories is not a Japanese game, yet it's prominently featured in a "games by Japanese developers" sale.

I think anyone that buys DOA over Marvel just wants boobs...

you guys have an internet browser for that

Boobs? Just hope they port the Shinovi Versus game for that.
Or play NGS2 and make the boobs shake with Gyro/SixAxis. :lol
Cacpcom fighters all day everyday over DoA.

Put EDF on sale (<$20) in place of Silent Hill please.

If they put EDF on sale for under $15 for PS+, I'd bite.

Im fighting the urge...

Great prices but I want these games on retail. Esp MGS. Undecided on if Ill ever pick up Muramasa....

UMvC3 and DOA5+ look like must buys.... but I want the PS3 versions for local co-op primarily...

I think Im going to pass.... Yes... Im going to pass...

Plus I have Soul Sacrifice and Dragons Crown already in the forefront...

Having money and not enough time to game is a curse.... Nothing but a curse...

2 things wrong.
That's the PS3 Ridge Racer (made by Western dev)
That Silent Hill game is also made by Western dev)

Sale is for "Japanese" games.

In the end, who cares.

I don't give a damn as long as the sales are good and provide me with deep discounts on titles I wish to buy. ;)

Bad (non-)news guys, the port thread made me really want a saints row for vita so i tweeted everyone in charge for saints row 4...

"@SaintsRow @Pewology @Chupacaubrey @deepsilver @DSVolition I can't wait for saints row 4! Is there any hope for a saints row game for vita?"

Answer:

"Maurice Tan @Pewology 10m

@n1ofurbusiness @SaintsRow @Chupacaubrey @deepsilver @DSVolition None right now, sorry!"

:(

Does the game have a sort of beginner mode? I remember buying MvC2 and I hated it on PSN. I didn't know what I was doing and totally sucked no matter how hard I tried. And does it have a story mode?

Story mode is arcade mode. Six fights then a final boss. You get a character specific ending for the person who delivered the final blow to the final boss. It's very much like all the old fighting games with "story" mode... MK2/MK3/SF2/SF3/SF4, etc.

There is a "simple" control scheme and a "touch" scheme that might work like "beginner" mode.

The game is much easier than MvC2 to pick up because of the simplified a>b>c>s control scheme.

simple controls, touch controls, auto block, multiple difficulty settings, training mode, and trials to give you a taste of each character's combos.

i never cared for MvC2

Thanks for the answers. I'm going to look at some videos then. I admit I'm really bad at fighting games. The only reason I had MK on PS3 and Vita was because they were both gifts and I enjoyed the story mode(which I beat on easy :P). I remember playing the DOA5+ demo and liking it a lot even though I sucked.

It was a long, loooooooonnnnnggggg shot anyway.

really, there are 2 draw backs to Marvel on the vita

1. rage quitters in ranked. I'm used to them but i can easily so how it bothers other
2. auto-block. its nice for noobish players but is completely unfair if skill levels are equal.

i recently discovered training mode with the option to fight request ranked matches. this feature is a must in all fighting games IMO

Well I don't play online fighting games at all so shouldn't be too bad for me. With that said I remember Leona defending DOA5+ on vita to death and saying it was the better game?

i know that person is into DOA5, but the fighting engine really can't compare to the 2 capcom games on this particular sale.

I think injustice would be a better argument, though i would disagree.

It is the better game. Cross-play, much better story mode, lots of unlockables, and (not the least of which) much more accessible and fun to play.

Unless you become a master at Marvel, you'll find yourself sitting there hoping to get a single punch in while getting clobbered with 70+ hit combos left and right. DOA5 isn't so singularly focused on long combos that newbies can't enjoy it.

It's really the best fighter of the generation, and as a person for whom tits do zero sexually, the bouncing melons aren't a factor. Not sure how people can get into Tekken or Marvel when games like DOA and SC are so fluid and damn fun in comparison.

I prefer soul caliber over DOA about 10:1

ranked matches killed SC for me.

also, your reference to marvel is really only like that on the top level of the game. RARELY can anyone do that on vita.

I haven't laughed this hard in a long time.
Especially when you go on to trash Tekken in the next sentence.
Thanks. ;)

Seriously, the only thing I will concede is that it has cross-play, which ANY fighter on Vita should have with the PS3 counterpart.
At least Capcom learned this after they ported UMvC3 and put it in SFxT.

Well woke up to the sale, if I bought everything I wanted it will run me $87. My (new) 32gb card is already full, and I probably wont spend that $87. I'm sure come black Friday/winter there will be another sale. Now the question is, which do I get?

Oh and what is the chance we get Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition for the vita? 1%?

The FGC basically rejected DOA5 so i think the jury has reached a verdict on that one.
If I let the opinions of the majority color my own, I wouldn't own a Vita.

The "FGC" can do whatever it wants. I'm still constantly finding matches on DOA5+ online six months later, while UMvC3 on Vita is tumbleweeds 95% of the time, rage-quitters 4% of the time, and Vergil/Morrigan/Dr. Doom/etc etc combo masters of the universe the other 1%.

$10 isn't much anyway for a game with such replay value. Anyway, to quote 2+2=5, at these prices:

tumblr_mmpmgznHF01qcygajo1_400.gif

noone can play morrigan/doom/vergil on Chris G's level.

i also have no problem finding matches on the vita. The ps3 has a substantially larger player base compared to the vita.

no problem with having all of them
