Super Smash Bros Wii U and 3DS Thread 2: Where Pilotwings is apparently Minecraft

It doesn't look anything like the temples in DKCR. It could be, but what we've seen so far is inconclusive.

And R.O.B. and Hanenbow and Pictochat and...

Yeah, I know that. My point is that I want characters to have their own representative stages on both systems regardless of their series being exclusive to console or handhelds.

For example,

Punch Out - Console
Golden Sun - Handheld
Advance Wars - Handheld
Mysterious Murasame Castle - Console.

Summary: I would like to see Venus Lighthouse on SSB 4 Wii U.

A bomb's a bad choice for close-range combat.

No, pretty sure we either had the heart container or lip flower before.

Actually, no. First item we saw is Smash Ball. It was on Villager's poster, along with Samus and Wii Fit Trainer used the final smash.

Second item was Capsule in Developer Direct.

Edited: I haven't seen heart or lip stick yet.

I wonder what's up with the lack of items. They're either not finished or they're purposely hiding them for some reason.

I'm sure it'll be higher than 30fps.

For this kind of game, and Sakurai's need for 60fps, I wouldn't doubt it. 3DS is very capable of it.

So I guess after the Olimar and Luigi reveals it's safe to say that Nintendo is going to announce a new character every time a new important game comes out?

If that's the case, my predictions/wishlist:

Wonder Red for Wonderful 101. I think it's a 50/50 thing. If 101 it's really a Nintendo IP, it could absolutely happen. If not, well... I don't know which is yet though.
Rayman for Legends. Very slim possibility, but the Mario/Luigi costumes give me a little hope.
Peach for Mario 3D World. Or maybe Toad, but only Peach is missing in the Mario veterans.
Sonic for Lost World. Pretty sure about this one.
Diddy & Dixie tag team for Tropical Freeze. Or Diddy alone, but I hope not. I also predict K. Rool will be the final boss of the game, in a viking outfit. So maybe he will be a secret character.
Zelda for Link Between Worlds.
Mewtwo and his Megaform for Pokémon X/Y.

Crossing fingers.

Stop trying to make Wonder Red happen... it's not going to happen. And Rayman? Yiiikesss.

Wonder Red is a really bad choice. A character from a new IP that isn't even 100% Nintendo? Come on... I know that many like him but he's just not a fit...

Ridley on the other hand is perfect. :)

Well, why not.
I don't believe they actually have a strong chance, but it's not out of the realm of possibility.
And for the fact that they "don't fit"... Sakurai made Snake fit, so...

Wonder Red won't happen because:

1. Only one game in the series
2. The game's mechanic is about uniting a hundred people to do impossible feats as a team, not just being one hero
3. Only one game in the series

I'm trying to think of Wonder Red's Brawl equivalent -- Isaac, maybe? Basically, a character that isn't likely at all, but the online community convinces itself that the character is a shoo-in and acts like it's a tragedy that they didn't make the cut. You guys are only setting yourselves up for inevitable disappointment.

Established franchises are safe bets for new characters. There hasn't been a second-party series truly worth representing since Fire Emblem was introduced in Melee. Wonderful 101, Sin and Punishment, Custom Robo, Captain Rainbow, Chibi-Robo!... they're all small-time. I know I'm mostly alone in feeling this way, though. It's just that I'd be very surprised to see a new playable franchise introduced that isn't EAD, R&D/SPD, or third-party.

Now I want all the 101 heroes working together, thanks.

Ryce: shoe-in? Lol, never said that. I said 50/50, and yes probably that's too much. I won't be disappointed if he's not in, for all I know, the game could even suck. I just think it would be cool. There is really no reason at all for such a reaction lol.

I've got a feeling they'll wait until SEGA's 3rd exclusive Sonic Wii U game's release to unveil him.

And the nominees for Biggest Mouthfuls of Today are...

I'm perfectly willing to admit that I wouldn't mind at all if Rayman makes it in. Of all possible 3rd party guests, I'd say his chances are pretty decent.

Who's to say that it necessarily has to be merely Wonder-Red? Personally I've already voiced the possibility of Sakurai being able to turn the character into the next Pokémon Trainer. After all, Sakurai always says he wants to challenge what's possible with a character. In those terms they'd be a perfect fit - not only because the characters provide something potentially awesome but also because as an IP that's mostly owned by Nintendo which they are proud of, Kamiya loves Smash Bros and is also close to Sakurai.

We always say "nah that character isn't possible", but then they show up somehow, some way, and Sakurai makes it work like a charm.

To be honest, it's not so much that I'm incredibly excited for TW101 as is. If there's any reason I'd be actually disappointed if they're not represented, is because there are really not many "new" franchises Nintendo can represent. It just means they have to scrape together minor inclusions from existing franchises Nintendo have already represented. I'm already disappointed with Nintendo relying too much on their big hitters with their new ideas being unrepresented. I remember reading that Gematsu leak with all the characters and seeing those specific characters mentioned on the forefront made me so incredibly disappointed that character-wise, this was what I was supposed to be excited about.

Even if it's just "mostly" owned by Nintendo, I would love to see the closest thing to a big new Nintendo franchise make the cut. We'd not lose anything out of it.
