Grand Theft Auto Online: Official Gameplay Video, launches October 1st

I think what they're doing is brilliant, it's almost like they're giving an incentive to play through the campaign. Which is great to me, that means by the time I complete the campaign, I'll be able to enjoy multiplayer when it's still new and fresh to everyone.

Read that CVG article and it seems the delay is because they want people to get there heads around single player first before diving straight into multiplayer... but seriously a 2 week wait for it to launch, i'm personally sick of it being held back because it doesn't exactly come out at a good time for me with September onwards being my final year at university and all lol

Say you're hanging out in your high-rise apartment enjoying the view down below. You spot a flurry of red and blue lights in the distance and decide to see what's going on. So you switch on your TV, tune into the news, and suddenly you're watching your friend fleeing from the police in real-time thanks to the news helicopter flying directly above him.

DAYUM

Not sure if clarified in the thread, but just spoke to Rockstar, GTA V is still out on September 17, but GTA Online launches Oct. 1.

I actually think the brief delay between single player and MP will be fun.

That excitement from playing the main bulk of the game will be met with further excitement a few weeks later - it's like a double whammy of hype!

I'll make sure to log on October 3rd or 4th. Those servers the first few days....Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeit.

Smart idea to wait a couple weeks after the game launches since most will be playing the single player but they could have just had deathmatch and race at launch

I need my fire truck race fix but that driving a motor bike then parachuting off a cliff is amazing

Great trailer

I predict lots of fails and struggles by students, trolling rockstar :p

Wow, I'm really impressed by this. This is all the "next gen persistent always connected online world" I thought we would need new consoles for.
I think I'll wait on PS4 and Xbox One and play this instead. ;)

Holy shit....

How can it be half the fun in GTA when IV was the first one to do it? San Andreas was pretty fun.

Now that it has become a staple in the GTA franchise, it is half the game.

Not saying San Andreas wasn't fun, but the online is a whole new experience by itself.

So it was already clear that Godstar delivered on the single player side. Now it's pretty clear they delivered on the multiplayers side. Jesus Christ. Game of the forever. Long live Godstar.

My only worry, what about the good old free roam mode with random people?

It seems like everything is crew related, which would be a bit of a bummer.
I want to join a random online free roam, get a cop car and arrest (kill) all those who rob stores.

Also 16 is a bummer, but expected. If only it was next gen and like 40 to 60 players, were you could have 4 or 5 full sized crews in the same map, battling it out.

Holy shit. Once again, R* surpasses my expectations.

This game is way bigger and way more ambitious than I could have ever imagined back when the first reveal trailer was released. Looks like an amazing package.

Looks surprisingly great, FUN ALLOWED, looks like rockstar made a complete 180 from gta4 and remembered that gta is supposed to be a sandbox game.

I hope they put a huge amount of effort into the jetski physics and handling, if you put this shit in your game it's going to be compared to waveracer and going to almost certainly dissapoint people if it can't compare.

God damnit, I'm torn between PS3 and 360. PS3 looks as though it'll run better, while X360 will have the better online. Ugh.

When it shows golfing and tennis, are we supposed to assume that we can play those? They looked like story cutscenes or something.

That's kind of embarrassing the online portion is going to miss the disc release, actually annoys me online isn't gonna be available on September 17th... why not just delay the whole game till October 1st as it's obvious online won't be ready for the games launch

hell no, the single player is the most important anyway

This looks amazing. Can't wait and I agree with some other people that I'll enjoy the 2 weeks that I have to go through the singleplayer at a reasonable pace before stepping into Online.

This looks awesome.

It doesn't warrant its own title, but I can partially understand it as its getting its own support.

And the explosions FX guy ought to be fired.
