Wow, I'm really impressed by this. This is all the "next gen persistent always connected online world" I thought we would need new consoles for.
I think I'll wait on PS4 and Xbox One and play this instead.

You never needed a next gen console, just that said ideas were kept back for marketing reasons and percentage of connected devices.

Read that CVG article and it seems the delay is because they want people to get there heads around single player first before diving straight into multiplayer... but seriously a 2 week wait for it to launch, i'm personally sick of it being held back because it doesn't exactly come out at a good time for me with September onwards being my final year at university and all lol

That looked amazing. My problem is that this is the swan song of my 360. I don't want to keep it around after I have my PS4. I wonder if the GTA Online stuff will be transferable between systems, like a stored save on their servers and you log into an account. That would be perfect. So if I play a few months on the 360 then move to the PS4/PC version all that stuff isn't lost.

That's the one thing from keeping me getting REALLY hyped about the online.

How is that hyperbole? They are a proven developer with a proven franchise. GTA IV is hated on GAF but it's still in the top Xbox Live games, that's FIVE years after it launched, it's even GFWL #1 (as of April of this year). I just don't know what could compete with something of this magnitude. They've completely re-written what is expected from multiplayer and the single player has pretty much went point for point down every complaint list and marked it off.

That's kind of embarrassing the online portion is going to miss the disc release, actually annoys me online isn't gonna be available on September 17th... why not just delay the whole game till October 1st as it's obvious online won't be ready for the games launch

PC has been next gen for years. It's not really fair as a PC gamer to say these graphics suck. For 360/PS3 graphics, these are quite good actually.

I presume the ongoing development will be akin to the additional activities and modes that might come through additional future episodes - which I am absolutely fine with.

Just hope you can customise your pads... and that the lighthouse featured suggests that it might just be included in this aspect - which would have me so happy! ^_^ I suppose it is too much to hope that it might store the pads of those on your friends lists (updated whenever they log-in), that you can visit even when they are away...

Some of it reminded me of the free-roam bullshit that was in GTAIV and RDR that no one ever really played around with (that I saw, anyway). Hope it's a little more streamlined and understandable in this one.

It's an established franchise that in no doubt will deliver. There are very few studios that can pull this off. Saying GOTY before the game is out is well deserved for some studios and acknowledging their superior talent.

Just saying though because the game was originally meant to be out in Spring, oh man would that have been a much more relaxed time for me to mash the game, September onwards for me is going to be nothing but late nighters with the amount of work needed to be done on my Uni final year
