Grand Theft Auto Online: Official Gameplay Video, launches October 1st

The police camera is a neat idea.

I'm still hoping that your minor crimes, such as attacking someone or injuring them in a collision, can be recorded by bystanders and uploaded on in-game social media.

I'd love to browse the in-game internet for the clips of Trevor beating up random pedestrians, and remembering when you actually did that.

Uhhh... who said nothing could possibly beat TLOU as game of the year, knowing that GTA5 was coming out a couple months later? EIther people who have zero interest in GTA5/open-world games or somebody who didn't know GTA5 was coming out.

TLOU is my game of the year so far for 2013. But... I wouldn't ever think that it "couldn't be beaten" by anything... Especially with this bomb being dropped in 4 weeks.

Many people, but this can be saved for a different thread.

Disappointed that they didn't announce a Cops vs. Robbers mode for heists. Looks like you'll just be going up against the AI when doing them.

On concern I have (though I'm only theorising, we have no idea yet) is that they will simply pump out the SP and leave it as is, while GTA online will continually get all the new content.
Loved GTAIV's episodes, so I hope this won't be the case.

They already said they won't do single player episodes again because the GTAIV episodes sold like shit. They failed to realize they sold like shit because people were disappointed in the main game.

This can easily hold me down for 14 months.

This is my personal game of the year already. The wait isn't that bad because single player will be awesome. PS3 owners get at me because I'm partying off this.

The graphics look great to me. I'm sure graphics might point out frame rate issues, screen tearing and some stuff I can't see. But to me this game is excellent.

Are there any new single player previews or trailers on the way?

Game of forever.

I dunno if it's going to be a game of the forever, but the potential is there for sure. OMFG, GTA V Los Santos is absolutely incredible as I see more footage of it. Best city ever created in a sandbox game and I haven't played a minute of it. IV was hyped as the best game ever and the critics rated it to heaven, but it simply didn't have what it take to justify it's position as the best or highest rated game ever.

I'm gonna replay GTA IV and all of the DLC one last time so I should be able to properly evaluate V and it if does live up to the hype since I suspect it will bump IV as the highest rated game of all time.

16 players seems too low for such a expansive open world, hopefully nextgen port would double that to 32.

I'm sure the PC version will at least have hacks to raise the amount. Considering what they did for San Andreas.

And I agree that 16 in the entire world is too low and this video doesn't accurately show that.

Say you're hanging out in your high-rise apartment enjoying the view down below. You spot a flurry of red and blue lights in the distance and decide to see what's going on. So you switch on your TV, tune into the news, and suddenly you're watching your friend fleeing from the police in real-time thanks to the news helicopter flying directly above him.

Fuck. Me.

When it shows golfing and tennis, are we supposed to assume that we can play those? They looked like story cutscenes or something.

They are fully fledged minigames. Rockstar didn't make Rockstar table tennis for nothing! I bet the tennis will have all the spin types and be a pretty decent little tennis game.

This video alone blows anything the XOne or PS4 has to offer out of the water.

I honestly think that is a genuine concern for Sony and Microsoft in a broader context. They have these fancy new platforms launching but there are a lot of people who will be content with just playing this game instead of buying an expensive new machine. I'd imagine it will hurt sales of the annual shootbangs as well.

That is what I am wondering. 16 player is a low. I remember being hyped for RDR online, but it was sort of a let down.

However this seems like it has more to do than RDR.

So this isn't part of V? You have to buy this separate?

Wat

It's part of the purchase with GTAV. But it doesn't get released until Oct 2. Probably didn't have enough time to get it into release and free of bugs. Also allows them to scale up/down servers depending on sales between Sept 17 - Oct 2.

Can't believe its 2013 and we have to beg for a PC port, what the heck is going on with that.

Resources. Nobody has to beg for a PC port. Every major GTA since GTAIII has been released on PC about 8 - 9 months after the console launch.

*excluding the mobile games like Chinatown Wars, LCS, etc.

Now I just have to find some decent people online to play with. Even joining some Gaf groups has been nothing but children cursing every second and acting stupid. The only good online game I played this gen with decent people (also from gaf) was Hot Shots Golf. Would love to find a mature group on here who's conversations consist of more than profanity and toilet humor. Never cared to search out a good group, but for this game I think I'm really going to want to enjoy it with people.

When is this game releasing soon, I'm sure hype will die down cone November, they can even announce a fancier port next gen games.

That feeling when online looks awesome...then the crushing reality sets in that you're more than likely to be playing with your own god damn friends screaming into mics, sabotaging things you've set up while people who can actually play the game have conflicting schedules.

Fixed.

Damn, missed this piece of news :( Sad, really. I thought the episodes where much better than the main game IMO and one of the few approaches to DLC I really loved.

Looks absolutely incredible. Most of the variety and activities of the single player experience online with my own customizable character. It's rare I get excited about multiplayer, but this is how it's fucking done. Rockstar proving once again that they are towering giants that can continually raise the bar to where it even dwarfs next generation starting.

It sounds amazing, but I'll remain cautiously optimistic. RDR online had some fun co-op missions, but mostly I remember some guy sniping a friend and I as we tried to just complete the mission. The idea of setting up a heist, going to complete it and then having a random player call in an airstrike on and jack up everything would suck if it happened often.
