Sony expects to sell everything they could send to the stores but, at least for me, it won't make any sense to keep all the games under warps because they should not only want to sell everything they have but rise the expectations and the need to have that console.
It's like Wii the past gen. It was sold out in every store during the first holidays, but people really want one of those, they did not want another console.
If Sony keep on with the game announcements could do that. To make the people want only a PS4, not a next gen console.

The OP was made on August 16th, which was last week. Him saying Sony will announce the release date next week, means this week at gamescom during their conference.

NFS if you want unrealistic but thrilling break neck speed racing carnage through populated tracks and streets.
DriveClub if you want to race exotic supercars around the world in realistic vast open tracks, with huge draw distances and open landscapes.
Why not both?

I think there will be lots of puzzles to solve using his absorb ability. All we've been shown so far is the fighting mechanics.

Money's a good incentive! And of course lots of posters have brought up the goodwill garnered, implying this level of support to PS4's later years. But I think there's another good reason, which I haven't really seen mentioned:
Putting out big PS3 games this year competes directly with Nintendo. WiiU is mostly pursuing a different, more cost-sensitive consumer than the next-gen heavies. A slate of big, attractive titles for their cheaper last-gen console is Sony's most direct possible attack. A Nintendo price cut could make PS4 seem boutique...but it'll never catch up to PS3.
that makes good business sense however there is another factor to be considered. There are a percentage of undecided console buyers at the moment that are looking at the list of exclusives on each platform and deciding which system to get. a lot of people believe the xbone currently has the best exclusives and will possible buy one of those instead. Sony will sell out of their launch stock either way but they have an opportunity to get the undecided to commit to ps4 now even if they can't get a launch unit.

ha, that´s exactly what i thought for E3. then i set the alarm for 1:58am and felt like a zombie the next day at work. totally worth it!
Oh E3 pressers are in the morning for me. Only prime-time streams that I could watch would be TGS but I'd have no idea what's going on haha

I agree with all of you that Sony could win some hearts and minds during this launch window by showing more games. I agree there will be fence sitters that will decide that the promise of halo is enough and buy a xbox 1. But the problem with this line of thinking is that there just isn't enough of those people.
Sony will be much better served if they can keep the hype going. Right? I mean you guys don't want to see the same old games tomorrow... you want new stuff. But if you show off new stuff now what do you show at TGS? What do you show at the Vgas? What do you show at gdc? What do you show at e3? It will all be retreads of games they revealed far Tok early and everyone will be upset that there aren't being new games shown.
Likewise if they give us something here... let's say guerrilla's new IP... and then new demons souls at TGS. And then uncharted at the Vgas. And then SSM'S game at gdc... And then Agent and GT6 and other shit we can't imagine at e3... the hype doesn't stop. That's the plan. This is a long, long generation. You don't want to just drop a ton of info and then go 2/3 of a year just talking about it over and over.

I feel like their is an unfair myth sorounding the Vita by saying it has no games, thats actually not true, the Vita has a lot of games from different genres. I am also sure Sony has stuff planned for it, i think the reason it isnt doing so hot is because of the price and the propitiatory memory cards, also add the fact that Nintendo has been able to secure Monster Hunter and a host of other nostalgia games to beef the 3DS identity, its really hard for Sony to compete in a handheld market that has seen some of its market share taken by Tablet and Smartphones
Yeah, that was an awesome moment. People even started chanting Sony's name, and that NEVER happens at E3 press conferences.
