I am guessing it is gonna be Orchid but I want it to be Fulgore so bad!6 Characters on Launch right?
We know 4 exist: Jago, Thunder, Glacius, Sabrewolf
2 more so... Fulgore or Orchid or Combo or Cinder?

You know, as I was typing out my last response, I was thinking to myself "I really hope he doesn't ask me what I'd do to improve things... because I've got nothing".
I think if the game is going to survive, it will need to do so of its own merits. If the only way to spark any interests is to play around with standard tourney formatting, then it's probably already dead to be honest.
I just hope Jago doesn't turn out to be the dominant character. The last thing we need is the character with the most consistent wins, to be the only character everyone is guaranteed to have, lol.
Gah can someone unveil a character or something already
Spending an extra $20 on DLC and KI1 emulated... eh. I want the original KI, but hearing that it's emulated and won't have online play at first kind of kills that. I would like to know when they anticipate online will be added. It would've been better to release KI1 on Xbox 360 (XBLA) with online play. Then maybe give us KI2 with the Ultra pack.
Did we get the tease as to what the next character reveal will be?
Orchid and new
Then Fulgore and new for DLC
Cinder, spinal, combo, riptor, Kim wu + 3 new for season 2
Those are my guesses.
Def not new characters for season 1. Lobb already confirmed that is for season 2. Next two characters NO DOUBT will be Orchid and Fulgore. I mean NO DOUBT at all.
So while we wait guise - who would win in a fight between Ed Boon and Ken Lobb?
I say Ed. His glorious eyebrows give him 1 hit of armour
I wouldn't be so sure. As Dakir confirmed on his interview with Mick, they recently began work in two female characters. We may just as well be getting Orchid and Maya or Kim Wu as the next two. Fulgore and another could be he two DLC fighters.
You mean how Injustice DLC is $5 per character...WHICH IS EXACTLY THE FUCKING SAME as Killer Instinct?! You mean that nicke and diming? And you mean how there's isn't an option to get all 8 characters for $20 Killer Instinct?Ed Boon doesn't nickle and dime customers and mislead them. So i'm going with Boon.
Could be Maya and Kim Wu.
It's insane that people are calling the ability to purchase either the full game or individual parts "nickel and diming".Ed Boon doesn't nickle and dime customers and mislead them. So i'm going with Boon.
Do we have any clue yet as to when the next character is going to be announced/teased?
This game looks great, but I will probably never own the system (Or a PS4). I hope it does well.

I know we have a hostile reaction to FTP models, but when both a FTP and a full game model are there and the developer gives us the choice of either, it's insane to get angry over that.
...and then you realize that 95% of people online will be playing as Jago and absolutely no one else.
Female Fulgore...BAM there it is

As opposed to them all playing Ken, which already happens in a paid version.
For the 2 female characters vs Orchid and Fulgore banterSay what?

The thing is this isnt some new franchise they are testing the waters with..Its supposed to be Killer fucking Instinct. Microsoft should have went all the way and put a top tier team together at RARE to make a FULL retail game that includes A)Campaign ladder with story mode, boss fights, endings, etc. and a full multiplayer mode B)A full cast of characters like competing fighting games SF 4, MK 2011, and Injustice C)Enough content in general to make it a worthy sequel to the previous games and make it worth the wait
Instead the whole thing feels like an after thought by MS to make a quick buck off Nostalgia.
On top of that this project feels so rushed you can tell by the announcement trailer at E3 its like they just greenlit it when they realized they didn't have enough content for launch and are quickly throwing the game together as fast as possible (which is probably why MS went with Double Helix since it's their speciality).
This has the potential to be much worse though. There may now be a whole new set of people who would have played SF4 if it were free, and they'll ALL be Kens (even if they wouldn't have selected him otherwise).

- We get it. You want a full-fledged Killer Instinct 3. No problem. Wait until 2014 or 2015 and you'll have your 24 character, full story mode next-gen KI. In the meantime, I'll be playing the ever-evolving version that launches in November. Hopefully you're not too far behind when the product finally meets your expectations.
In fact Neo Gaf's own FGC hardly talk about this game.
NeoGaf's FGC mostly just talk about drama, Mahvel and SF4. Along with most the FGC.

Lets say you like one character out of the whole game, you pay 5 dollars and have a blast, that's it, 5 bucks. If you want to play a character an Injustice, you need to pay 60 bucks regardless of if you want the other characters or not. KI is the best model for fighting games I've seen.
Not quite. And not just with Killer Instinct but all F2P fighters. DOA5 Ultimate: Core Fighters will also suffer this.
What I mean is when we buy a fighting game the traditional retail way we are presented with all the characters. Or almost all except for a few unlockables. We can then quickly choose a character, dive in for 5-10 mins and see if we like that character and know how to use him/her. If we like what how they played we continue practicing with that character.
Then sometimes you play against human opposition (arcades or online), see your opponent doing crazy things with a different character and want to try that too. So you go home and select that new character.
Now with the F2P model, what basis do you use to pay for your new character? You may well like the look but they may control in a way that you dislike. But you've spent the money now so you're forced to learn and use them
Look at Angel in King of Fighters 2002. Great looking, sounding female character with interesting looking moves. But WTF when it came to actually using her. Same with K9999.
What I'm saying is that with the traditional retail package you can dive in and out of characters until you find your desired favourites. It will always be the preferable method for me.
Killer Instinct isn't free to play, there is a version with Jago thats free to play and thats it. It's not like the kind of game where you can unlock stuff based on playing the game more. The traditional game you have to buy everyone though, whether you want them or not and that is the issue. Street Fighter IV I payed 60 bucks for and I played as Ken 95% of the time. I enjoy playing as Blanka and Guile though but Ken was all I played as for the most part. If you are interested in a KI character you pay 5 bucks and play a character, maybe you wont end up liking them and feel out 5 bucks, but that's a lot better than paying for boatloads of characters you don't want.

It cost you 60 dollars to dive into that game and discover all the characters. If you are interested in KI then nothing is stopping you from dropping the entire 20 bucks and have the ability to try out all the characters as well.

Except the game came with a full roster of like 25 charecters. The 5 dlc didn't make up the whole fucking game it was purely bonus if the fans want it
24 characters for 60 bucks in Injustice - 2.50 a character
8 characters for 20 bucks in KI - 2.50 a character
What was the problem again?
Female Fulgore...BAM there it is
What if they had a character filter in place? Where you could select a character you'd prefer to not fight against and filter he or she out? Then you'd never have to fight against a Jago and only all of the other characters.

Because you may pay for two or three individual characters you love the look of but not the control of. You may not like Jago control, but then it takes you 20 dollars (buying 4 individual characters) before you discover Sabrewulf.
Unless we're talking about the truly established fighters where you know pretty much how Zangief or Terry Bogard are gonna play.
Gamescom liveshow from Microsoft starts in about 40 minutes. This could be where they announce the new KI character!
is there a link?
