(If you are) Why are you getting an XBox One?

Inspired by the PS4 thread, I thought this would be a good counter thread to get feedback on the Xbone.

So why are you picking up Microsofts's next console?

No caveats:

Just give me the positives of the Xbone.

Full disclosure: I am getting an PS4 day 1 and have no interest in the Xbone but want to hear the positives about it from those who are getting it.

I just like the launch lineup of games better more options and stuff I want to play. (I am getting ps4 as well but if i had to choose one it would probably be X1)

Because if you can afford it, you should own every system and then you don't have to whine about ports.

Every system has great exclusives.

Have you seen Titan Fall?

No seriously, it's all about Forza 5 for me at launch.

Plus another 343 Halo masterpiece, at 60fps, down the road.

Killer Instinct looks fun too.

Halo

In the mean time though, I will enjoy Killer Instinct, Project Spark, Crimson Dragon, and Zoo Tycoon and Kinect Sports Rivals when that comes out.

I'll pick up Ryse if it has a good/interesting narrative or if the co-op Gladiator is really solid.

I'm not getting one soon, but it might just be before the PS4.

Some of the reasons include the OS, My Gamertag, Friends, online gaming policies, Call of Duty, and exclusives(waiting for Forza Horizon 2).

I have one preorder currently, pending possible cancellation. But for now...

Im getting it because I feel like the console is back on track, and I want to be a part of the fun. There isnt one stand out game at launch that makes me want it, same for PS4, but i just want to own the console and maybe pick out a game to try. I love having new hardware when it comes out, so thats pretty much my reason. Its pretty weak, i know, but i also just feel like i owe it to myself as a gamer.

The only PS3 exclusives to ever interest me were Journey and The Last of US. inFamous, Killzone, and Uncharted just don't appeal to me.

Meanwhile, I love Halo, Gears, Fable, and all the exclusives they showed off at E3 (DR3, D4, Quantum Break, Titanfall, etc). The Xbox One already has more interesting exclusives than the PS3 (to me).

I also trust MS more to come up with new exciting features. They were the first to have achievements, party chat, Netflix, and Xbox Live in general. Sony mostly just copies stuff from Nintendo and MS.

Because Halo (I actually like/care about the story). It'll just be a few (at least) years-- probably miss the multiplayer on 5 at least :(

Amazing controller, an amazing user friendly interface, Killer Instinct, Crimson Dragon, Dead Rising 3, and the future Halo game(s). To me it seems like Sony is more popular with lots of people, but Microsoft has all the exclusives I want (I do not like the Killzone and Infamous series and think they are mediocre games). In the end it's all about the games, but the controller and user interface are going to be fantastic. I know it sounds stupid but I feel like of all the companies, Microsoft is the only one that offers a fine-tuned user experience for its system. Nintendo's are clunky to navigate, Sony's are fine but is just too basic.

Also I owned a PS3 since 2008 and in the first few years I had it, I loved it. Ratchet and Clank Tools of Destruction, Uncharted 1 & 2, Little Big Planet, Reistance 2, and Metal Gear Solid 4, all amazing games. Then in later years, I felt like I got nothing out of Sony's first party offerings. Infamous and Killzone were just so mediocre and boring for me (and they both got sequels). Ratchet and Clank's later PS3 offerings never were as good as the first PS3 game. Resistance 3 was a joke. I was excited for Playstation All-Stars but it ended up being absolutely terrible. The only exclusive games post 2009 that I really loved on PS3 where Little Big Planet 2, Uncharted 3, and Ni No Kuni (which I adore). I don't understand Sony's focus any more at all when it comes to software. Meanwhile the 360 during that time continued to receive Halo and Gears of War Games, along with some other unique exclusives.

Because I am a gadget whore and a Harcore Halo fan.

Have it paid off, but not that excited for it.

Some exclusive like Dead Rising 3,Ryse and Titanfall. Though some of them could be PS4 titles later.
The Xbox Live account is not combined with the store. Then I can switch to several stores and buy games I want in different area.
Some great great Kinect leisure games

II wouldn't be buying a new console at all just now if it wasn't because i'm a tech nerd and am really interested to see how the XB1 and kinect will interact with my TV setup, voice activated TV? yes please! Although not gaming features the package seems more "next gen" to me, rather than a sooped up version of what went before. If it wasnt for these features I would simply consider looking at getting an HDMI sender and plugging my PC into my TV instead and be done with console gaming.

The games i'm most looking forward to Titanfall and Spark are also only on Xb1, although they aren't launch games there is plenty to keep me occupied until then.

Finally all my friends that are gamers are Xbox players and they seem to be planning to get Xb1 although I suspect it might be some time after me

Edit forget to mention the link to Azure should mean really top of the line multiplayer games, no more host advantage Whoop!

I'm on the fence on whether I want to go PS4 or Xbone so I'll just give the reasons why I want an Xbone.

Tons of good games that I want, and a really good launch lineup. Also the controller can be used on the PC as well so I can use that. While I'm not sure if you can use the DS4 on the PC, I know the Xbone controller has been confirmed already. Also once again it has a lot of exclusive games that I really want like Killer Instinct, Dead Rising 3, Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare, Titanfall (yeah yeah I know both TF and PvZGW are on PC as well), and Quantum Break (if it turns out good).

Simply due to a stronger launch lineup to my personal tastes. Dead Rising 3 and Killer Instinct mainly, but Forza is looking good as well.

Already pretty much paid off the XB1 with giftcards so I only need to pay $30 for it now. I had money set aside already so while I am pleasantly surprised by the PS4 price it wasn't much of an issue either way. I'm planning on eventually getting both regardless, but I'll wait for that to build up more of a library first.

First and foremost the games how also how the UI is embedded with the tv. The instant switching of games and the kinect functionality.

*Multiple games that aren't on the PS4/Wii U that I'm interested in.
*Kinect UI features as well as kinect features in various games.

And that's really it for the most part.

Awesome fun games and Kinect mainly for my younger cousins, who all (4 different families) bought Kinect 1.0 after playing mine. System seller no matter what people here say.

Halo 5 is LITERALLY the only reason I'm considering getting one down the line.

Besides that, nothing will ever make me buy that travesty of a console.

KIller Instinct. I'm a big Forza fan, but I would have skipped xbone at launch if I didn't love everything I've seen from KI.

The only PS3 exclusives to ever interest me were Journey and The Last of US. inFamous, Killzone, and Uncharted just don't appeal to me.

There was a lot more than that to PS3 exclusives you know? What about 3D Dot Game Heroes, Demon's Souls, Disgaea, Folklore, God of War, Gran Turismo, Heavy Rain, LittleBigPlanet, Metal Gear Solid, MotorStorm, Valkyria Chronicles, Wipeout or Yakuza? No appeal?

The diversity in Sony exclusives was really great this gen and I hope it will continue to be so in the next.

Still, I will probably get an X1 eventually, if they ever manage to make a Fable game in the vein of the first two games, or a new Banjo game.

I'll get one eventually if they drop Kinect and the price as well add more exclusives that interest me. Only want Forza, but that isn't enough to justify a purchase for me. Titanfall I would rather have on PC, so I can wait for that.

Sony wins my money for their performance through this whole circus. MS needs to learn their place like Sony had to in order to get better again.

TitanFall is 360/XBone/PC, guy.

I always end up getting both systems. Currently getting the XB1 first mostly because of Killer Instinct. PS4 just doesn't have much at launch that I'm interested in so will pick it up later down the line. Plus all my friends are on Xbox and such.

Better Controller
Better Online Ecosystem (based on XBL vs PSN)
Gamerscore already established.
Better Launch Lineup for me.

• Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag (Ubisoft, Ubisoft)
• Battlefield 4 (DICE, Electronic Arts)
• Crimson Dragon (Grounding/Land Ho!, Microsoft Studios)
• Killer Instinct (Double Helix, Microsoft Studios)
• Ryse: Son of Rome (Crytek, Microsoft Studios)
• Watch Dogs (Ubisoft Montreal, Ubisoft)

I understand some of those are multiplats but ill get them over the PS4 version due to the reasons above.

Also, titanfall, new halo, hopefully new gears as well.

Saying that, im still getting a PS4 for Killzone as a tech demo and that New order game or whatever it is. Looks amazing.

As much as Sony have said they've learned from last gen about general OS and online experience, I trust MS more to give me an enjoyable console experience.

Also, PS4 has no exclusives at launch that interest me, while the Xbox One has Killer Instinct and Dead Rising 3.

I'm sure ill get a PS4 the moment Naughty Dog release anything though.

Getting both next gen consoles but I tend to prefer MS' console exclusives more.
That's basically it.

Halo 5 -- Seriously... this game is going to be NUTS!!!!!!!! 60fps, Dedicated servers. *muzzles myself before I say too much more*

Dead Rising 3, Quantum Break, Ryse, Project Spark, Titan Fall, Forza 5, Killer Instinct, Crimson Dragon.

I'm excited by Kinect and the Xbox One's entertainment features, such as the TV support. I'm excited about what Kinect will bring to games, and I'm really excited just to use the thing as a consumer entertainment device. I use my 360 as my main streaming device for movies that are on my computer, and I guess for consistency sake I want to continue that with the Xbox One.

Dedicated servers sounds like it's going to be a big thing on Xbox One thanks to MS pushing the cloud. It may not be supported by every game early on, but I can quickly see it becoming the thing that a game gets a lot of shit for not having, simply because so many other games probably will. I think the Xbox One is going to have a very strong launch lineup that won't be properly appreciated till years down the road.
