(If you are) Why are you getting an XBox One?

*I buy tons of gadgets on launch date, PS3, 360, Vita, etc...
*I am a hardcore gamer that *gasp* loves Kinect, bought it day one.It went over huge in my family. With the power of Kinect 2, it will take that fun even further. I can't wait for Fantasia.
*The Xbox Controller has been my favorite style of controller since 2001 and is the controller that I use on PC as well.
*I'm fascinated with the software powering the XB1. My first interaction with the console will be to play with the UI.
*I'm more aligned to what Microsoft is doing over their Japanese competitors as far as future plans and as far as fan bases, I see myself fitting in with other Xbox fans favorably.
* I would consider myself to be a huge fan of the company. I don't buy all of their products, but the Xbox 360 is my favorite console of all times, it's a no-brainer to get the XB1 for me.

The games. None of the PS4 exclusives look that great to me (Killzone looks great, but I tried 2 and 3, and did NOT like the controls). Xbox One has a ton of games I'm interested in though. Titanfall, Dead Rising 3, and Project Spark are all no brainers for me. Halo, Killer Instinct, and Ryse (fingers crossed) are icing on the cake, and I can't wait to see Sunset Overdrive.

Also friends are there, I'm curious to see Kinect in a more subdued role with the UI navigation, and the controller (stick placement mostly).

PS4 only seems to have raw power and good PR. I get that. Xbox One has games I actually want though.

Halo, TitanFall, Project Spark.
Third party Dedicated Server support.
Kinect's integration with the operating system, I don't completely doubt its gaming applications.
Snap Multitasking.
Smartglass

I am getting all consoles, because I want new stupid toys.

Also, fiddling around with the Xbox' XDK and Kinect might be fun, hope they release developer access for hobbyists soon.

Because it'll have plenty of great games over it's lifetime and $500 now isn't any worse for my budget than $400 a year from now.

It looks like people are buying simply cos they enjoy buying more of the same. It's no bad thing. The lists mainly include follow up to games you've all played before.

Forza 5
Halo 5
New Fable
Dead Rising 3

No bad thing remember, but it seems like the gamers here aren't excited about what Microsoft really wants you to be excited about. The always on, Kinect, cloud gaming, etc.

I'd like to get it only because from the short amount of time I used PSN at a friend's house I found the feature set to be lacking.

Games. Halo, Quantum Break, Killer Instinct, Dead Rising 3, D4, Sunset Overdrive, Forza, Ryse (if its good). The announced lineup is pretty damn good in my opinion.

By decreasing order of importance :

- Kinect for games : say whatever you want, I really like those games. Most of them have that arcade feeling that is so rare nowadays, it's simple, it's fun, it's different. And with the shorter distance requirement of the new kinect, it will be more convenient for me.

- Games in general. Actually I'm not too excited by the launch games and would easily have skipped the launch (if I was reasonable). There are great games on all platforms, but the only games that made me say "hey I'd like to play that !" were mostly on X1 (Titanfall, Sunset Overdrive, Project Sparks), or WiiU (which I'll buy too).

- Kinect for media control : TVTVTV ! :D Seriously, being able to voice/gesture-control my whole movie setup would be great. It may be a gimmick, but a cool one, and for the same price as an advanced universal remote.

Very low on the list :

- "MS ecosystem" : I've been using more and more MS device lately, having them support each other is cool, although I don't use it that much. But it's a plus.

MS wants you to buy the thing, they don't care whether you are excited about Battlefield 3 or some exclusive sequel to an old franchise.

Enjoy the big franchises Microsoft has and the weird exclusives they tend to release such as Phantom Dust and this gen's equivalent being their XBLA game selection. The launch in particular has three titles I'm very excited about(Dead Rising 3, Forza 5, and Ryse) which is a rarity. Ryse might not turn out well but I'm still very hopefully. Getting both the PS4 and One though.

Really excited about the potential of the Kinect 2, the first one was hindered by the terrible cameras so this time around I feel it's really something that could contribute a lot to gaming both in terms of ease and more potentially revelatory features.

The main reason of course is: PANZER DRAGOON SPIRITUAL SUCCESSOR IS A LAUNCH TITLE

Kinect, Halo, Titanfall. Plus my achievements carry over and it's what most of my friends are getting. MS securing time exclusive content for the big games also helps.

Don't get people wrong, they are excited about that stuff but they see it as an improvement for the actual thing that matters...games. The Cloud stuff is part of the system, so it will be interesting to see how it evolves as the system progresses, same with Kinect.

I Will get a PS4 when Sony's first party kicks into gear. I might even buy all multiplats on PS4 if the power difference shows itself in software and the controller is comparable to the X1 controller.

That being said the PS4 will be running through my X1 which I'm buying first because the launch line up, imo, is clearly better with KI and Dead Rising being the deal sealers for me. Will get Battlefield 4 as well and, because I'm a betting man, I'm pretty sure NA preorders will come with COD: Ghosts. I hope it's not Madden because I dont give a loose shit about Madden.

Ooh yeah, Titanfall. That game will move systems for MS like nothing else. A X1 must have.

There was a lot more than that to PS3 exclusives you know? What about 3D Dot Game Heroes, Demon's Souls, Disgaea, Folklore, God of War, Gran Turismo, Heavy Rain, LittleBigPlanet, Metal Gear Solid, MotorStorm, Valkyria Chronicles, Wipeout or Yakuza? No appeal?

The diversity in Sony exclusives was really great this gen and I hope it will continue to be so in the next.

Sony definitely has a greater diversity in its exclusives, but most of them just don't appeal to me personally. I think Sony and MS just have different target audiences and both do a great job catering to them. Great games for everyone! :)

Exclusives. The only system with exclusive games I want to play immediately is the Wii U, so I'll buy one first. Then I'll wait a year or two to see if the XB1 gets more must-play games besides Halo 5. If not, I'll know it's time to buy a PS4.

I didn't do a list but Quantum Break and Titanfall are some of my most anticipated X1 games. And they aren't sequels.

I have both pre-ordered, but I only plan to get one. Right now I'm leaning Xbox because:

1) Dedicated servers for Call of Duty: Ghosts (and potentially other games)
2) Dead Rising 3
3) Titanfall
4) Halo and Fable (even if 3 was terrible)
5) The controller

Launch Lineup.

The Controller.

I prefer the look of the console.

My wife and kids will use the kinect for fitness, games, and media apps.

I'm already tied to their Ecosystem (360, W8, WP8).

Gamerscore.

All my buddies I play online are buying one.

I got it really cheap.

I like the idea of one box that does everything.

Looking forward to the usual roster of games.

Titanfall... Have y.. Never mind.

Is no-one looking forward to D4?

Jeez....

Games. Halo, Quantum Break, Killer Instinct, Dead Rising 3, D4, Sunset Overdrive, Forza, Ryse (if its good). The announced lineup is pretty damn good in my opinion.

Me :)

Deadly Premonition was the best game I never played (Giant Bomb Endurance Run!) The writing was genuinely funny. Swery is so good at making bizarre stuff. The comment he made about wanting people to use Kinect to play the game so they can also eat popcorn made me laugh.

The cloud.

But all joking aside, I love most of Microsoft's exclusives. And with Dead Rising 3 and Titanfall being added to the exclusive list, Xbox One has everything that appeals to me.

Yet I'm still debating canceling my Xbox and getting a PS4 instead.

I dislike console launches that are so close to each other.

Oh I forgot to mention Kinect 2 seems pretty neat!

Prefer the controller layout.
I like the games that have been shown so far, and love Forza.
I have always liked the Xbox online ecosystem. I always feel more connected to my friends. I always felt like I was alone when playing on PS3.

So while the PS4 will no doubt improve its online systems, I know MS will be continuing the way I'm used to it working. And as I say, I prefer the games at launch.

I'm actually disappointed that I can't install my games on the HDD and then just stick the disc to one side. That would have been so useful.

I may get it if Fable Legends is actually interesting

The main reasons i would get a xbox one would be in order

1. Fable 4 in the main series, not spin offs of any kind like Legends, Herores or Journey

2. Lost Odyssey 2

3. Alan Wake 2

Since non of the above has happened yet, generally i dont plan to get a xbox one yet, but if Legends is proven to be more than a simple multiplayer game (that would be nothing like Fable main series) i will definitly consider getting one for this game.

I don't like QTE heavy games, racing games, or JRPGs. That eliminates a lot of your list. I also generally don't care for Japanese games. They tend to either have annoying mechanics/controls, or annoying style (anime). Also I'll admit, 90% of what I play are shooters of some form. I don't have this "shooter fatigue" that seems to be going around. I'll give you Demon's Souls though, and Last of Us looks great.

Is no-one looking forward to D4?

Jeez....
I don't understand Deadly Premonition. I watched some of the Giantbomb endurance run, and it just seemed like bad combat, bad dialogue, and awkward cutscenes. I can't help but think people like the game ironically.

MS wants you to buy the thing, they don't care whether you are excited about Battlefield 3 or some exclusive sequel to an old franchise. Stop acting like a child.

You have a seriously bad attitude on these forums. Just the last few posts you've called someone a child, a clown, a troll etc. And usually for something small and unsubstantiated. You need to chill out.

Just noticed you edited out lol.

You see this 343? People are actually getting the Xbone because of Halo 5. So don't fuck it up again so I can be interested.

I'm getting it because Xbox Live is 10x better than Psn and the XBLA exclusives that X360 had were better than any of the first party games the Ps3 had.

I also like Xbox first party games more than Sony's. Kinect, technology wise is awesome and I'm interested how games can make use of it after seeing how Project Spark has Motion Capture and all that.

Oh and dat controlller

The Ps3 was a huge disappointment to me and the Ps4 looks to be going the same way. Indies aren't enough and some are even going to eventually make it to Pc or X1 anyway. If they hadnt killed their exclusives like Ape Escaoe, Spyro, Crash, Klonoa, then this would be totally different.

TBH I would have preordered it regardless because I cant resist shiny new things

Personally for me the games lineup at launch and announced for the future is what is making me not want to scalp it on eBay, unlike the competing console

Killer Instinct
Forza
Dead Rising 3
The controller will double as my pc controller.

Im really excited about it, I was even before the 180s. I am getting both consoles at launch though.

Same answer as with the PS4: Because it's new hardware, and I love me some new hardware! Waiting this long for a new gen has made me a bit irrational I think.

game consoles make weird people violent. Getting because my time with the 360 was a blast and I can imagine the games like Gears looking amazing.

- I've always bought XBOX first then PS, actually the OG XBOX was the first console i bought with my own money.

- I LOVE the xbox controllers, the controller S was amazing, the 360 controller is almost perfect, and the one controller looks to be perfect.

- I like racing games, Forza 4, Forza Horizon, and PGR4 are some of my favorite games this gen, and the xbox controller is perfect for racing games.

- Crackdown and other 1st party exclusives especially from the new studios

- Did i say that i LOVE the controller?

- Better launch lineup of games
- Better exclusives (for me)
- Better OS/Marketplace integration
- Better controller (only just this time around, but this could potentially change)
- HDMI In (no really). I like the idea that this console will free up an HDMI port, which is a rare commodity in my game room
- Kinect 2
- Skype

In the end, I buy all consoles regardless. I have a WiiU already and will pick up a PS4. As November 29 draws near, I'm finding harder and harder to resist a PS4.

I'm getting it because of the NFL deal. Not getting any games at launch. I'm getting most of the the third party games on the PS4/PC. Don't care for KI, Forza(Ridge Racer fan)Ryse or DR. Crimson Dragon I might get in the near future, but I'm in no rush. All about the NFL.
