Depending on how things go in the next 10 years, I'm not so sure. Republicans at the national and local levels have done pretty much every single thing they can within the limits of the law to repress minorities, homosexuals, you name it. Obama's administraion is a thorn in their side and they know it, as do GOP/Tea Party voters. Get a GOPer President with a Congress that is hijacked by the far right half the time and things could really get out of hand. Look at what the GOP has been able to do politically and in terms of motivating their base while only controlling 1/3 of Washington. Just imagine what happens when they get the WH again. They get to act on it directly instead of being obstructionist and setting things up as the state level as some kind of odd precedent of sorts.
I've gotta say, recently, you can kind of sense more tension between races in public. Especially black and white. Over the past couple years it has become more apparent as Tea Party nation refuses to shut the fuck up and black folks got really upset after the Trayvon thing and other racially motivated crimes. As a white male it just depresses me.

We need more laws set in place to protect people who step in and prevent or capture criminals.

There is nothing different about "kids today" than any other time in history. In fact "kids today" are far less violent than they were 20 or 30 years ago.
I'm not a big fan of these stories. I think they paint a warped picture of how the world really is and they are just AM talk radio fodder.
It's terrible, it's sad, it's enraging....but it's not a reflection on anything. It's a couple of outliers in a world that is overwhelmingly becoming less violent.

Also, suspect #3, the so-called 'accessory' wasn't in the earlier versions of the DM reportage, but those two other pictures were. And the comments were rather pointedly racial instead of being about whether or not guns should be blamed. So...what have you got, exactly?

The article I originally saw when the story broke included him. I have not seen one where he wasn't included. Regardless if we want to be even more accurate, the articles should say 1 black youth shoots, with 2 accomplices.
He looks to be quite possibly of mixed race in this pic. I'm not bringing this up because it matters to anything except it would explain how he might actually be friends and accepted by the other two who committed that murder. Judging from the anti-white tweets and gangsta wannabe behavior, it seems unlikely they'd be so tight with a white guy as to go out committing crimes with him. But, admittedly, stranger things have happened.
