That is an even better question, will this brawl have the pad play? Will it have the 5 player with the pad?
 
I still want one of those "challenger approaching"s for hades.

Then again the character is too likely, it might be taken seriously, and Kotaku might report is as confirmed.
 
Hmm now that you mention Gamepad, I'm interested to know what they'll do with it. I'm sure that they won't use it only for off tv play.

Yeah, they're not adding CG videos anymore because people upload them to YouTube. Stupid reason, lol.

Also, guys, what do you reckon they'll name the game? Will it be the same name and boxart for both games like MH3U? SPECULATE.

It was confirmed somewhere that the current titles are final.

I'm surprised that Sakurai seems to care so much for something so trivial as people uploading the cutscenes to youtube. This is just something that would happen regardless.
 
Since the original Super Mario Bros stage back on Smash 64, I wanted a Super Mario Bros 3 themed stage. I thought if 64 = SMB and Melee = SMB2 surely Brawl = SMB3 but no we got Mario Bros, Hopefully this time X(
 
I think the lack of CG cutscenes/movies is a good thing. Opens up more space for other data.

Also consider the difference of space on a Wii U Disc and a 3DS cartridge.

It wasn't just because people upload them to youtube. It's because he considered the reward of going through SSE to be those videos, and then when people didn't like SSE they just watched the videos online and didn't play the mode themselves, so it was a massive waste of resources. Hence no SSE and no unlockable cutscenes

But he did say they were planning on doing more CG videos like we've had so far, they would just be unlocked from the start

Silly though, they'd end up there eventually, like every game. But hey, it's their choice.

I personally feel it's down to time constraints. :P

Eh, I was honestly just taking an opportunity to bash SSE. I liked the concept but did not like the execution.

I mean I wouldn't mind if they do another attempt (especially after re-watching the cutscenes lately) but personally I wouldn't mind if they skip that and used more time/resource on the real meat of the game. On the other hand, I can see why people would be actually disappointed, but I just don't understand how it's considered a deal breaker.

In speaking of single player, I really hope they fix all of what was bad about single player in general from Brawl. (Lack of Race to the Finish, lame waterdown Break the Targets, lack of stage clear bonus points, etc). I appreciate them adding co-op to a lot of the stuff though. I hope they make co-op online this time.

Are they? Doubt it. 4GB has been used a lot.

But lower res etc means there'll be enough space. KI:U was on 4GB and had fucktons of content, so i'm sure it'll be okay.

It depends if this game has like 300 tracks like Brawl.

anyways he didnt say there would be no CG videos at all, but there would be alot of silly one-off videos, tekkten tag tournament could be a apt comparison, lots of fan material they could do.

Dude, this is Smash Bros. When a character that doesn't fight ends up making it in, SUDDENLY IT ALL MAKES SENSE.
 
I'm always amazed at the level of misinterpretation when it comes to Sakurai quotes. This quote, case in point:

"The total number of characters is the same as the Wii U version, but some of the stages will be completely different. On the Nintendo 3DS version, there will be more stages based on handheld games; while themed stages from home console games will be on Wii U."

I'm sure they can manage it. If Pokemon XY can do over 700+ full 3D Pokemon models, why the heck can't this to 35-50 etc?

I wonder if that's what got people confused since they love reading things wrong. It sounds more like limiting the characters themselves rather than the roster count. I wonder if that's why we only see 3 Pikmin from Olimar...

I guess you're right, but the animations for each character, along with added effects or w/e make them more complex... I think... I think that they could easily reach 50, either way.

Yeah in various interviews instead of saying both versions will have the same roster he said stuff like amount of, library of, number of.

Which made me skeptical.

I guess, but in XY, all the Pokemon are fully animated, with new idle animations, fight animations, faint animations etc, and they're extremely sharp visually, so i'm not sure what the issue is here. Also the lighting effects during battles etc don't seem to break a sweat in XY.

I'm confused..

Stages in Smash are likely lush with detail and have crap going on. Whereas there isn't much going on at once with Pokemon as certain area's have their own loading times.

I'm talking about Pokemon's overworld. Battles there is even less to worry about.

...Except for TP Link in 4. He doesn't even really have SS LInk's colors because of the pants and a few other bits, he's mostly just been brightened to fit with everyone else.

I like SS Zelda, but based on Link's design I expect her TP design again.

Well, TP Link imho is like 'canon Link' whereas SS Link is on the same plane of Toon Link.
 
Pokemon XY isn't having 4 characters fighting at the same time with dynamic action though. It's a turn based game :P

Thanks, though I won't be leaking much of anything anymore.

People still don't trust me always. It's odd.

With Black & White, I got my contacts to confirm the starter evolutions for me, so I posted them as true and the internet went crazy, going to ridiculous lengths to "prove" that they were fake. Even a certain webmaster went on record as saying I was wrong.

Even this year, Mega Mewtwo got leaked ahead of its official reveal on Pokémon Smash. I was fairly certain it was true, but again it happened. Even a certain webmaster went on record as saying I was wrong.
