To those who have the demo, can you skip the story bits?
Yes, you can. You have to go into a menu and choose "skip".
The story bits are great though. Not something i would want to skip personally.

Still not enough Platformer out thereThis game looks absolutely amazing. How would have thought a platformer would have some of the best graphics on the system.

It has local co-op and its a lot of funEspecially when you are pulling off your friends head.
Gavin Moore as in creative director on Puppeteer? In that case, welcome and great to see you here!
There are a few issues with the demo that i'd like to give feedback on (and that might get fixed?):
- the buy option doesn't work in the EU demo. It takes me to an empty page on the old PSN store (not a big problem since there are other ways to buy but still...)
- quite a few people are put off trying the demo due to the big file size (nearly 6 Gb). I assume that this is the full game we're downloading? Any possibility in bringing a smaller (in filesize, not content) demo?
In any case, judging by the demo, you should be very proud of what your team (Japan studio) has achieved with this game. It's just magical. If the rest of the game remains as good (or even better?), then the game will be amazing!

If you're gonna buy something from PSN Store, do it through the website-

Also where's my US PSN pre-order, and if I buy the unlock via US PSN, will it work if I have the demo dled from EU PSN?
Yes,
I am that Gavin.
Thanks for the heads up about the buy option. I contacted Europe and they will look into it. Appreciate the feedback.
Sorry about the demo size. The demo is huge because it contains all European languages. So if you would like to play it in another language you can, just switch your system language to your preferred choice. Just be careful because switching back to english can be difficult if you can't read the language you have set. I know because I have done it. I like playing it it Russian personally, it sounds regal.
To everyone out there who downloaded the demo. Thank you very much for trying Puppeteer. We tried very hard to make something creative and fun. I personally really appreciate your support. Thank you.
Gavin.
Your US PSN pre-order will download on the 10th of September. I think it should do that automatically. Machines are scary things.
The EU demo is not the full game, so no need to unlock. Sorry about the file size. As I mentioned in a previous post, the demo contains all EU languages, full voice over. That is why it is so big. Sorry.

The presentation is incredible.
And what a fine time for my PS3 to have died. :/ Never got to finish TLOU and now this.
The presentation is incredible.
The demo looks excellent. It's clearly the tutorial stage -- I know the levels get harder later on because I recall seeing footage of an underwater level that played just like one of the mine cart stages from DKCR, speed and difficulty included. That's great, indeed. And what's nice in this demo is you can roll -- I wasn't aware of this basic mechanic, but it seems quite quick and nimble and should make for some snappy dodging amidst all of the scissor combat.![]()
Yep! The gameplay looks great in that video.

EU demo is supposed to become available to non plus members today, correct?
Supporting the shit out of this game, pre-ordered babyyyyyy!
I believe it should be available from the 28th (Wednesday). Then again I get confused. Damn you time zones.
I thought the demo was the full game (due to the size) and changed my pre-order to digital instead of a boxed version. If the demo is 6Gb, how big will the final download be? I haven't got that much room left on my hd. Which would mean that i need to cancel my psn pre-order again. Hmm...
That all depends on which version you download and how many languages are in each version. Off the top of my head...
UK version 5.5 gigs
Japanese version 5.5 gigs
US version 7 gigs
EU version 11 gigs.
These really are off the top of my head, so please don't blame me if the actual download sizes come in slightly different from the numbers quoted above.
I love you for making this game happen. Too few big 2D platformer releases nowdays (tho we really are gettin treated with Puppeteer, Legends within weeks!).
Any hints how difficult platinum trophy will be?
Also surprised at how good the finnish dub was in the demo :lol. I hope it finds long term success like Sly does over here.

No you are correct, 28 Aug. is Wedensday, EU Store updates on that day.
What'll the US PSN price be if you don't mind me asking? (and do us plus members get a discount!)
I think it's amazing that they got Patrick Doyle to write the score for this game. He's been one of my favorite film composers for many years now. And what little I've heard of Puppeteer's music sounds like it's up there with his best work.
Played the demon once which was enough time to :
- grew tired of the irritating cat (those "mew" and "purr" puns are unbearable)
- convince me to pre-order immediately anyway because it looks and sounds fantastic !
Woah any reason why US ver. is bigger? IS it because it has French and Spanish dialog as well?
EDIT: Also sorry for bombarding you with so many questions =X
I like playing it it Russian personally, it sounds regal.

Sorry not sure on the US PSN pricing. Although the game really is a steal at $39:99.
I know here in Japan that it is a little cheaper on PSN than at retail.
Also remember if you do preorder then you get the amazing sound track by Patrick Doyle. The music in Puppeteer is a master piece and he was an inspiration to work with.
Never play Ni No Kuni.- grew tired of the irritating cat (those "mew" and "purr" puns are unbearable)
