That pic from the video is awesome. The mountains peaking up above the fog is great.
I didn't think that the anticipation could be worse than before, but somehow, the closer we get... the worse it gets. I check this thread every time I'm on gaf, basically the only thread I check, and the last couple days it's been on the same page and it's KILLING me.
I was expecting to hit zen levels of anticipation... like just so hyped for the game that I go into a zen state and forget about it for 2 weeks. But I can't. I can't fight this feeling anymore.

GTA IV is providing some solace, but it's pretty unbearable!

They all come with a map that's double sided due to size of the map and the SE/CE come with a city blueprint map that has secrets hinted at on it.

I'm unemployed and broker than I've ever been (meaning I literally have zero dollars), so I'm going to have to go sell some plasma these next couple weeks to afford this bad boy. Which means I'll probably just get the standard edition, even though the steel case is SO SEXY. Most of the other "bonuses" with the special edition are completely insignificant, and spending an extra $20 just for the steel case seems like it would be foolish for my current predicament.

I guess we talk about leaks pretty much every day, I don't see how that would be different (and as far as I remember, it was ok to talk about them back when RDR leaked). If you end up knowing a link to a stream, make sure not to post it publicly though. That would only increase the chance of it being taken down.

managed to get MW3 8 days early but being the pile of shite it turned out to be I traded it on release day, We guy behind the counter (major retailer) was bamboozled to say the least.I ended up going with the standard edition. I have the money for the CE, but I don't think all the extras are really worth the money, plus I'm running out of space for big boxes and stuff like that at this point.

Yes. They are also promoting PS3 bundle with GTA5, and GTA branded wireless surround headphones.
street break usually happens the weekend before release. However since this is GTA that might be even earlier then normal

Possibly but it depends on the publisher to be honest. EA for example are really strict on allowing their stock to leave the warehouse, usually 2 days before, where CoD & Halo were at least a week.

Yeah, the CE is incredibly disappointing. The lock-box edition of GTA IV was, what, $90 I believe? This is $150 which is absolutely ABSURD, considering neither the hat nor the bag that are included is as cool as the lockbox.
Gah, digital is so much more convenient, but I just love cracking open the box of a new game. I'm always able to score big releases at midnight at my local Walmart anyway, so it's not too huge of a deal, but that drive home is always a rush of anxiety and impatience.

I might go digital depending on how big the file is since comcast finally put a bandwidth cap back on in my area. 350gb now which isn't a lot when your boyfriend is addicted to prime/hulu/netflix

EU can preload right now. US can't preload at all. Have to wait till 12 pst which is 3 am est for me.
I'm curious to see if that will at least get to parity with the 360 version. With the visual messes GTA IV and RDR were on the PS3, I wonder if Sony said they'll help with marketing if they can try to maintain parity. Digital Foundry comparisons should be interesting. Rockstar managed to make Max Payne 3 look pretty much the same but it's not an open world game.
They pulled it down last week. I don't think you can pre-load anymore unless they put it back up.

They have only showed the PS3 version, which lets me think it is probably on par with the 360 version or slightly better looking. These companies wouldn't show off the worse version of the game to the public.
1 am for me. It sucks but it should only take 4 to 5 hours, so it should be done when I wake up.

It's not, it's just some reminder in the psn download manager. The preload will be back up sept 13th, iirc.
I'm normally up by 7 am, so it works out perfectly for me.

I mean it would be a classic R* move
It would suck for those who have legitimate means of getting it early. By legitimate I mean not stealing it, because breaking a street date is a little shady if you're a store.
