How exactly does one go about proving which team they support?

Read this post people.Pathetic trash journalism and as always lots of people jumping to conclusions, goal.com is on level with the dailymail is shittyness. Here's my response from the football thread.
So lets get the facts straight :
Last year when we played Stuttgart a lot of German supporters had gotten tickets for the Copenhagen sections, which resulted in quite a lot of bad things during the match. This resulted in fines and public criticism from Uefa to Copenhagen not doing enough to prevent this.
So people who now bought their tickets and sounds like they support the opposition team has been "temporarily cancelled" which means all of them will be contacted at latest today, to confirm they are actually not just a random Gala or Juve fan trying to get into other sections, of course that isn't ideal but when Uefa has very harshly told the club to do better at separating the supporters it better be done. Of course Danish trash newspapers decides to make a big fucking deal of this and I guess now some English BS media has decided to jump on it too?
No one has been denied tickets because of their names, the few ones that had to be contacted now to be sure they weren't supporters of the other team even got their damn tickets, they just got an email saying what i explained above.
This was something which was also not done before the draws were made. So anyone could have bought the tickets then (a ticket package of all 3 games), but when the draws were made they decided to do this to try and avoid a situation like last year with the germans. All you have to do is still pick up your phone or if you miss the call, call into the ticket service thing yourself, cause the tickets are still reserved for you.
On top of that, if you bought the tickets for the games before the draw was made (which you could) there was no checking up on names or anything like that, it's purely to avoid other fans getting into the Copenhagen stands which we have been warned by the UEFA from before... and the tickets are still reserved for you, just have to get it confirmed you're not a supporter for the other team.
I say we should ban FC Copenhagen from the Champions League. How about that?
if they are too afriad of Real and Juvi fans, then they just give up
LOL this is so fucked up and surreal I thought it was fake news at first. wtf???
WTF? How will UEFA not ban this team from CL for racism?
Why do you have to give your name to buy tickets to a sporting event?
I guess I can understand if you're buying them online but what if you go to the box office and pay in cash?
You need to give your name, which team your a fan of (wtf?), and based on these factors are assigned only to a designated area of the stadium?
Wow.
Jesus Christ @ having to seperate the fucking fans for fear of violence. Been to a lot of sports games in my life, never seen anything like that. Been just fine cheering for the Chiefs Royals and WhiteSox (back when I was in Chicago) without having to worry about opposing fans bashing me over the head, lol.
Not a good look for that sport at all.

Don't you have to give an address when you buy ticket, either directly, or indirectly through your credit card? If security is such an issue, why don't they only allow residents to buy home-half tickets? Going by name is super racist.

Because there's lots of Juve, Real and Gala fans in Denmark? Funnily enough quite a few of the people who are acting as victims of racism turns out to actually be supporting the other clubs, which is exactly the kind of people the club was hoping to catch.
Just a quick look on Copenhagens FB page and the people complaining shows stuff like that above. Next time at least remove it from your FB, fool.
So basicaly, they don't want away fans in the home section? Sounds pretty fair to me.
I really don't get it. I can't imagine a Toronto resident, who's a fan of Montreal going to a Toronto game and getting into a fight in the stands. That's such a weird idea.
Even so, why would someone's name indicate what club they support? That's crazy. I wouldn't see a black dude, and be like, "well, I guess you like our basketball team more than our hockey team."
Never heard of football hooligans? Shit can get ugly, and if away fans get in the wrong section it can get even worse.

So they proceed to lump all those funny foreign names in the same bag including a guy with an Iranian name because that's basically the same as Turkey right.
Brøndby>>>>>>>>>>>>FCK.
For example, basketball in Greece : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WcvAOpnnMK0
While it's pretty normal to restrict away fans to the away section, the methods used by FCK are a bit weird to be quite honest. In Germany, if away fans are expected to buy tickets in other sections, you usually can only buy tickets if you have bought tickets before and/or you're living near the home team's city. Additionally, fans in away jerseys aren't let in in home sections. I've never heard of name-checking before. No one has been denied tickets because of their names, the few ones that had to be contacted now to be sure they weren't supporters of the other team even got their damn tickets, they just got an email saying what i explained above.
I don't get hooligans. I know they exist, but it's baffling to me. Also, names wouldn't be half the indicator residence would if you want to go down that road.

But anyway, it's of course not racism what's happening here. That's only the case if you really want to misinterpret the situation.
Disgusting.
SPORTS!!!!! Here in the US fights happen all the time in the stands at NFL games. People that worship sports tend to be assholes.
Neither do I. Well I do get what some people get out of it, it's just something that they should keep far away from football. But I certainly get separating supporters of teams, not just for security measures. It's the you vs them mentality in football, especially when it comes to life long rival teams, you sing slanderous songs about their team and their supporters and you try and throw them off their game, football is all about feeling and I would never go to a football match where we had to sit still in our seats and eat corndogs.
Oh I don't disagree it's weird to no name checking and certainly not fool proof, but it's not the only thing done either. Of course the club won't allow people showing up in other jerseys in. There's lots of people living in Copenhagen supporting the other clubs though, that is the problem.
Problem was with the Stuttgart supporters last year that they weren't wearing any Stuttgart clothing or anything like that, which then makes it incredible hard to deny them access at the gates.
The chant certainly is if the translation is correct. Brilliant stage for a basketball match though and many of the actual players enjoys that kind of atmosphere. This is Dame N'Doye a year ago in Copenhagen, he got our ultras logo tattood on him.
and this is the ultras in question http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QF1AbOW4PiI
jokes on him when he gets traded
In American sports we don't seat the fans of different teams in different sections, because we're not savages.
In college they do... although fans aren't restricted to those areas.
"We are fully aware that everyone will not agree, but discrimination it is not."
That's racist! Not surprising...Denmark is one of the most racist countries in Europe...
And how exactly do you define "foreign names?"
Because I can't envision any dudes called John Smith or Chad Whiteman being banned from shit.
Sucks for people called Mohammed Bin-Saddam Hussein Laden Al-Gaddafi Mohammed and no-one else.
Yeah, so banning people because their names sound foreign is a proper solution, right?lol @ all the reactionary moral grandstanding posts from people that didnt read WoodenLung's post.
Football hooligans are a real problem, and so is a threat from the UEFA to ban your team if you don't do something about it.
well looking at their draw, I would think if your name is Alonzo DiVincenzo or Sergio Abreu, you're going to have a hard time getting tickets
