Although I'm not trying to cut the game any slack for login issues, the very basis of this article is one guy being frustrated to point of using hyperbole. Very Kotaku of them.

I had some jerk tell me I was a shitty tank because I was doing Amdapor with crappy gear and taking too much damage. We wiped on first boss and everyone left.
I went the next day with 2 FC mates and a pug DPS and we rolled it. People need to get over themselves.

This scenario is not unique to FFXIV unfortunately.

Now this is a good one.
As a 'journalist' it mostly is your job to inform people and maybe warn them. It is not your job to whine and bring personal emotions into it while sobbing like a little child that you cannot have your candy - which is done in this article.
Although Kotaku and its 'journalism' shouldn't be discussed in here.

Plenty of WoW players are polite and helpful. You just have to get used to dealing with rude people in online games, it's inevitable.

Dungeons don't give as much XP as FATE farming.
Which is problematic in that progressing through certain dungeons is required for the story.
Use your FC, and make some friends to run it with you, even if it's just other DPS. Believe me, I find plenty of morons when I queue as a healer too (and get basically worshiped by the tank we he/she hasn't died 5 min in)
Dungeon usually provide the best gear sets for that particular level though, so if they provided the best exp too it would be a one-stop shop.
Duty finder is cross-server, yes? If so, I won't search parties with that, ever. Kills the whole "server identity", which made the majority of the 11 and 14-1 community so awesome to begin with.

I feel like I have a massive latency problem in Titan Hard.
I try, but the GAF FC is so big at this point that a lot of the stuff posted goes unnoticed.

Yeah, I avoid duty finder too for the same reasons. I want to get to know the people I spend time with. I'm only going to have so many experiences in dungeons, I rather not waste it on people I know I'll never see again.

Server identity is going to be hard to keep alive when the majority of players will be going the path of least resistance.

Just so what do and recruit in front of the dungeon you're at. So awesome forming a party right then and there (it also helps that there are those in the GAF FC always willing to help!).
I keep getting pretty awesome sets, I thought.

I dunno why, but today is quite possibly the worst day I've ever had for getting in the game. Usually, it only takes me like 30~ minutes tops. I got booted off (90000 error) at like noon, and it's almost 4pm now. And for some reason, I cannot get any of those auto-key things to work with my computer. :S So weird, I don't know why - I've tried several. And my Num lock key is on yes. *shrug* Not that it'd help much when that stupid NA/EU server list isn't working half the time.
I like FATES because it keeps the world active and alive but I really, really wish there were other routes of leveling.
I can see them doing that now because everything is fresh and stuff can be accomplished easily. But I'd rather not face the Hardmode Primals with randoms from other servers, not to mention the Bahamut dungeon or whatever comes after that. I'm sure most will feel the same way when the fresh-and-new feeling has worn off.

Do the hard mode level 50 Primal battles drop weapons upon their death or is it more of a "trade in this token for a weapon"? Or both?

They did say duty finder won't be open for things like Great Labyrinth of Bahamut where the mechanics are too hard to coordinate for PUGs so it'll be like WoW in that sense. But for things like Primal Hard Modes and endgame dungeons it'll probably just be easier to grin and bear it in the duty finder so you can actually get to that higher level content.
i play on ps3... trust me, it doesn't!
also, i really wish SquareEnix would give us our week back in free game time... this has been a waste..

Ultros, but you'll have to give a gallon of your blood plus sacrifice your first born to the gods of 1017, 2002, 3102, 90000 and the queue to be able to get in.
I've seen some people mention it, but has there been any official word on a PS4 release? That would be pretty nice.
